  1. I'm looking to buy the Hero6 in Thailand. I've used Lazada a number of times for non-electronic gear and not had problems but I figured something like a GoPro might be more susceptible to fraud/copies. I figured a cash-on-delivery might be the best option as I can inspect the item when it's delivered.

Wondered if anyone out there has bought a GoPro on Lazada and whether they have any recommended vendors?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Polyester epoxy and welding. A sensible combination of jobs to do at the same time. An hour later and it's still smoking, which is the new paint they've just applied. Apparently this is the third fire in six months, not the second. The workers were too busy hiding in the shade and taking photos to help and some guy turned up in his pick-up and parked up to take a view, blocking the fire brigade.

  3. There are numerous boats from foreign counties travelling for tourism around Phuket and neighbouring islands, which causes heavy water traffic congestion

Not the thousands of local fishing boats and ferries then?

We have a Class B transponder and it was on the whole time we sailed through thousands of Thai and Malay fishing boats when crossing over from the Maldives. Not one of them appeared on our AIS screen. The point being, it is half-hearted to make foreign pleasure vessels buy AIS but not enforce it across all vessels. We all share the same waters, after all, so therefore we should all be accountable. Most foreign yacht owners exercise safe seamanship etiquette; we run the correct lights at night for starters. Show me a local fishing boat that obeys international COLREGS and I'll eat my hat.

Whilst we feel we benefit from having AIS, enforcing it by using the argument foreign pleasure yachts create all the traffic is short-sighted and one-sided.

  4. Hi all, noob here.

I'm looking for a reliable online computer store, specifically for peripherals like powered USB hubs. I'm also interested in, though not as important, the Raspberry Pi (I've checked out http://www.thaieasyelec.com/ and http://thailand.rs-online.com/ for Pi - any thoughts on these?), harddrives, laptops and NUCs if they're available. Any recommendations on reliable online stores?

I'm hoping they'll take credit card or Paypal and deliver to an address written in English, though this can be translated if necessary. Any thoughts on these issues?

I know this question has been asked before as I've done a search. Unfortunately the top results all come from old posts and some of the links are now broken.

    Thanks in advance.
