  1. Better hope that the American republic lives on. :D Because most expats in Thailand who rely on any kind of pension or income flow from America will be up S**t Creek :D and all of its tributaries if it doesn't. :o

America, may you live long and prosper!

  2. I am retiring in Thailand January 2007. :o The paperwork for my Thai Visa is coming along OK. But, the problem, or puzzle, I'm looking at is the paperwork for my wife's Thai Visa. On the Thai Visa application for my wife, there are blocks that I need a little help with.

I wrote under "Nationality" - United States

I wrote under "Nationality at Birth" - Thailand

I wrote under "Place of Birth" - Thailand

I wrote under "Name" - "Her Furlong Name"

Please advise on whether these are stated correctly.

She possesses a Thai ID card.

She cannot be convinced to use her Thai Passport. Her unshakable fear, and I cannot convince her otherwise, is that she could potentially lose her social security benefits when she turns 62; or also upon my death a portion of my pension. We have been married 35 years and she is 57 years old and I also would not want to risk continuation of these benefits whether I'm still alive or not.

    Thanks, BM

  3. My Thai wife has had a pacemaker for five years. It was implanted in the states. We are now preparing to move to Nakhon Pathom permanently. I've emailed Bumrungrad and Bangkok hospitals. Our hopes are that she can have the pacemaker replacement procedure done in Thailand versus returning to the states to have it done. Any information is greatly appreciated. :o

  4. I plan on bringing my Coleman Mosquito Deleto 2200 System to Thailand with me to establish a perimeter of death for mosquitos around my residence. Might anyone also have this system and, if so, are replacement refills available in stores. It attracts the mosquitos by the bucket load and they become histwah. :D:o

  5. :D After 31 years out of Thailand, I'm heading back for good next year.

I will be looking for a home (new or used) in Nakhon Pathom. My wife is Thai, so she will be owning it. I have searched the Internet extensively and cannot find much if anything about the Nakhon Pathom housing market. I have very little knowledge of the property market in Nakhon Pathom.

I will be scouring the area when I get their. I'll be looking for a single house in a Moo Baan type setting that has an adequate level of security.

Target is a 150-200 sqm house, 2-3 BD, 2 BR, western style kitchen with a modest yard accommodating a little garden.

Of course, I would be appreciative of any comments you might profer.

    Greetings, Bird Man

    :o:D
