  1. Theresa May says US and UK can lead world again, ahead of Trump meeting...

She will say that just as the two nations have worked hand-in-hand to "defeat evil" and to "open up the world" in the past, they now have an opportunity to "lead, together, again". ( http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-38747979 )

So , here we have it ... Donald and Theresa ... may be they have a small place at or under their table for " Bibi " Nethayahu ... as an adviser , may be ....

Of course , the rest of the world won't mind , as they are such a beautiful couple ...

Anybody else wants to be the leader of the world ?

Never thai customs would take the time to inspect privat PC's if there is no very important reason to ...

Englishmen are mostly noble gentlemen types and would not attack someone for no reason. If you had said it was a Russian i could have believed you.. A high percentage of Russian men are dregs, drunks and degenerates and nothing would surprise me with them.

  4. Chiang Mai Immigation was , and is , ' a pain in the rear ....'

1 yr extention on retirement at Chiang Mai today, was a zoo :-( Was there at 0600, was #17 at 0900, told to come back at 1400, the guy after me #18, said the queue line stops at #20? I was there in Sept, 90 day report, and they told me 23 retirement per day?
The new office is at the Promenada mall :-(
I took a lunch break, went to Bangkok Bank, and Kasikorn to update both bankbooks with today's date....
    1. Had the TM 7 form filled out.
    2. 4 photos
    3. A notarized monthly income from the US Consulate
    4. Receipts, monthly rent, electric and water bills for the last 12 months to date.
    5. A receipt from my building manager, " Receipt of Notification".

That's it in my folder....the IO only looked at the monthly income from the US Consulate.., didn't bother to look at the other paper work, didn't even want to look at my updated bank books....but a surprise for me, he said your retirement dates on your passport had gone to over stay? So 1900+8000B, had me sign my name about 10times, of course unknown to me, as most were in Thai, sign here, here, and here, here...okay go next door and make 3 copies on my passport, I said I needed to go to the ATM for the over stay., he said okay, this was at 1430.....then after signing all the places, he said come back at 1630 for your passport :-( walked around the mall like a zombie, after being up all last night....came back to the office, finally called my name and finished at 1655 ....I'd bought a nice sleeping pad for one of my sleepers...go outside, of course no red taxis, when you need one, never there, waited a good hour for a taxi, red taxi, or tuk-tuk, nothing, then it was getting dark, and started to rain, got soaked, and lucky my new top for the sleeper was wrapped.....I ended up in a restaurant directly across the street from Promenada, had to get out of the rain, eat a little, listened to the karaoke singers and band....they called a taxi for me...rtp now today was 450B not including a tip...the old office next to Airport Plaza only cost 40B each way...when I was soaked in rain, one red taxi came by, and wanted 400B for my return ride :-( I said No.....soaked and exhausted after today at CM immigration, I just hope not to end up with pneumonia :-)

  5. A TWO Part Observation on the Unfortunate, Ongoing, Persistent, as in Chronic, Unresolved Issue:

Part ONE. Does anyone have ACCURATE statistics on how many farang either jump, fall over the short railings, or are pushed to their deaths over balconies in Thailand, year on year?

I'm looking for totals, and accurate tallies for the three main types of fall. I realize it would be easier to get the US nuclear codes from Obama, but I like tough challenges.

    Signed, Wishing upon a Star

Part TWO. Are there inherent farang (personality) types that are more prone to jump, fall or get pushed? If so, are the broad categories of money, alcoholism-drugs, general health and women not the root cause in 100% of cases, in no particular order?

I could have fit the first category nicely, as I lost 40 million Baht ( 1.2 million Canadian dollars , when it was almost at par) in the markets 18 months ago, it was my own fault, and amounted to 90% and change of my life-savings..and I'm in Thailand plenty of the time. I didn't look for any sympathy in the bottle, as I knew no one gave a crap (even my Thai wife was indifferent, she said it wasn't my fault) nor did I contemplate "the jump."

Bottom line? It probably-usually takes at least TWO categories to do the deed, and I only fit one, like a gloveclap2.gif

    Signed, But not always

Well , that's kind of a coincidence . Me too , I lost 40 mio THB in the Stock market about 2 yrs ago ....

For a while , I became depressive , but then , one morning , I decided to visit a temple in the mountains behind Chiang Mai .

It was a beautiful morning , it rained heavily the night before , but the morning sun created a foggy , mystical athmosphere ...

A small group of elephants with their mahouts crossed the street to work in the forest ... When I arrived by the temple on a hilltop , it was nice and sunny , the view down to the foggy jungle was great .

    I went to pray in front of the big buddha in the temple , a monk sitting near called me over to talk to him ;

    " you look worried " he said , " I've got money probems " I answered . He laughed .

Now there is a question and an answer . The question is easy to find : why did he laugh ? The answer is not so easy to realize , but once I really understood , it changed my life .

I am happy now , I found peace inside me , I do not want more than this .

( But I still worry for the world gone mad , what a pitty ...)

  6. Ahhhhh hard not to draw a parallel between ISIS and the ruling coalition in Israel after the beheading comment from the FM

Lieberman is a secret agent of IS and just can't lose the bad habits ...!

Well , behead the behaeder , and anybody supporting the beheaded or beheaders , should also be beheaded ...?

The world surely would be a better place without all these idiots ...

  7. After you learn how to operate a computer and what i said has relevance.. you just dont like it.

The US just supports whoever they think is beneficial and they don't care one bit about legitimacy.

Support of Suriname. Support of Egypt.. I think we can go on with some dictators helped into power by the US.

Them enforcing a party only means they will get more benefits from it then they could get from the rival party. Its based on business and pragmatism.. not on right and wrong.

You are not being honest. The US support of Suriname was so strong that it did not hesitate in arresting the son of its President and charging him with supporting a foreign terrorist organization. That was a real show of support for the President wasn't it?

The US is not "supporting" Egypt but is working with what's there. What would you like the USA to have done? Invaded Egypt and reinstated Morsi, a man that brought the country to the brink of civil war? The USA has crippled the Egyptian military with its refusal to release aid monies. If it does any more, Egypt will suffer another massive uprising and tens of thousands will die. Do you want another out of control country in the middle east, this time with a large well armed military? How will that benefit world peace?

It's all very well and nice to criticize the USA, but I don't see too many countries with the assets trying to keep the world at peace. Russia's doing a bang up job in the Ukraine isn't it. Before that it had its adventure in Georgia and Azerbaijan. China isn't making friends in its region now as it engages in an expansionist territory grab from its smaller neighbors. Several South American nations came close to all out hostilities in the past decade, Pakistan and India are at each other's throats, the Africans are busy killing each other in sectarian conflict, Iran is occupying UAE territory etc. etc. Please tell me which country has made an effort to keep the world from descending into madness. Sure, criticize the USA, but no one else is really doing anything, much like the response to the Ebola crisis. Russia and China and all the 3rd world big mouths at the UN did sweet FA to help. A large part of the funding and resources came from the USA. Did you see Mahidol's medical faculty offering any assistance?

    Where was Thailand's health ministry?

" It's all very well and nice to criticize the USA, but I don't see too many countries with the assets trying to keep the world at peace. " ...!!

    Is this a joke ?

  8. This morning, in my small city, I am reading about a young bloke with similar injuries, suffered in a fight at the local pub.... Thailand isn't the only place where blokes get belted in or around pubs/bars.... And I am not bagging bars/pubs.... I happen to enjoy visiting both...

High on drugs , dope , it is hot , hot women , wanting to be the " number one " , too much testosterone in the blood , the " I did not like the way he looked at me/her " stuff is enough to be beaten to death and more than this , the elders , who know that they will never be the " number one " any more , full of hate and jealousy , refusing to help , disorientated ambulance driver who does not want to get involved ....

WELCOME TO PARADISE ! or is it hell ?

  9. When it comes to Microsoft software products, especially operating systems: if it isn't broken, no rush to fix it or upgrade. Try it out in a separate partition or hard drive as a dual-boot configuration before you make a complete switch.

Most consumers will not benefit from any immediacy in running to the new OS. But they might complain about driver incompatibility, missing start menus, broken program functionality, etc

    Mee too , I used Windows .

    Now , for a few years already , I use Linux ;

I will NEVER go back to Windows , Linux is 10 times better ....!
