HI guys-
I'm applying for a triple entry tourist visa through the thai consulate in Portland, Oregon via the mail. I live in New Jersey. When should I mail it out so I can get as close to the six month mark as possible and get it back in time? I have read that a lot of people on here have used the Portland consulate before, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks again for the great information.

Thanks for all the info I really appreciate it. If I can get 250 days or so out of it I will be very happy.

If the visa is only valid for six months from when it is issued, how do you get 270 days out of it? Once you hit 180 or so days, doesn't it expire? Maybe I'm being dense; if anyone could help me it would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yes it is still possible. These new rules do not apply to real tourist visas. The confusion comes from people calling visa exempt entries tourist visas.
You should not apply for your visa now. It's 6 months validity starts from the date of issue. Wait until a couple of weeks before you are leaving to make the application.
Great thanks for the info. I lived in Thailand for three years (2009-2011), but had a non-immigrant O visa 98% of the time I was there. Never got a tourist visa like this and didn't realize the six months starts from the date it's issued.

Sorry, trying to go through all the other threads, I am applying for my visa this week for July (US Passport), was going to get a triple entry tourist visa and was planning to do 30 day extension 3 times as well as leaving twice for the extra 60 days twice (270 days total). Is this unrealistic now?

I am coming over in July and have a triple entry visa (US); is this going to effect me at all with 30 day in-country extensions and doing boarder runs for 60 days twice?

Quick Question Everyone- I'm coming over on a 3 entry tourist visa; am I going to have problems with this kind of visa just going over the boarder and coming back when I have the re-entries already?
No, that should be fine.
Sounds good thank you for the reply.

Triple entry visas are no problem. It miht be easier to us an Honorary Consulate instead of the embassy depending where you are located. They use to do them by mail but I think that they have officially stopped doing that last year. The Consulate in Portlans has been very helpful in the past. You should phone Mary and see what their current policy is. Here's the info: Visa application porcedures, Portland Oregon.doc
Appreciate that thanks.

Hello Everyone,
First off, I just made an account today, but I'm a long time lurker. I previously lived in the Thailand for three years, but originally arrived on a 30 day on arrival visa. I am soon applying for a tourist visa in the US, and I was wondering if US citizens qualify for a triple entry visa. According to the Thai Embassy website, only single and double entry visas are available, but I used the search function and saw some mention of the triple entry visa. Are triple entry visas only for citizens of certain countries and not US citizens? Thanks again and just want to say I really enjoy the boards here.

I'm staying in Pattaya, but want to do the 30 day extension on my first entry of a triple entry tourist visa in Sriracha. That's no problem, right?
