  1. Its the law - many nations have changed the 'document of record' from paper to electronic for certain documents e.g. invoices, receipts, contracts although not usually for land (notarised)or wills (holographic - in handwriting or adopted as such).  Thailand has not done this yet most probably because of the low prevelance of computers, data security etc.  Taking Tesco as an example - each invoice received in store then goes to head office, then is sent back to the store it was received at (Thai law) and must be kept there for a minimum of 7 years - this could be for deliveries of a couple of hundred baht of bananas etc.  Clearly electronic invoicing is easier for the bigger businesses but until the small mom and pop suppliers have the tools the law is unlikely to change, although one would think a parallel paper or electronic system would be a suitable mechanism.  Currently electronic invoices are printed by the receiver and kept (legal requirment).  So, less about creating jobs - more about sustaining the many small no tech suppliers - perhaps an app will become the route to progress as many have access to phones.

"small amount" is this something you can measure? say, if i have 3mg of the virus in my body...

Yes, it is easily determined - the PCR is a cycle test (often referred to as a photocopier test) - each cycle multiplies the RNA into DNA - cycle one is virtually undetectable but each subsequent cycle multiplies the virus - if say they can detect the virus after 5-10 cycles then there is a massive infection of the tested cells...if they run the 20-30 cycles then there is very little infection.

  3. Before you read the following - the assumption here is that there is rigourous testing in a vaccine, not like the Russian and Chinese ones...

So how does a vaccine work? for sure the efficacy is less than 100%...take measles, the efficacy (amount who have defacto immunity) is around 60%...if we need society to have 'herd immunity' the target seems to be 60-80% (same for measles, right?).  not giving the vaccine to children (these fall into 2 categories - 1: the small ones, defined by age, and 2: the selfish ones defined by intellect and observed through I am low risk of dying so I dont care if I spread it to others just open the bars and massage parlours type).  If they are not vaccinated there will be no herd immunity...100% x 60% efficacy (effectiveness) x 60% administration (proportion vaccinated) = 36%...that means no travel, no bars (open one week, deaths then closed, then open) and same for the rest of the economy.

The way to include 'children type 2' maybe to have vaccine passports - not vaccinated, ok cant fly, cant take taxis, cant go into restaurants - can ride motorbikes with no helmet, can eat raw pork, can follow the natural selection inevitability that will get ever near them as they age...

Before your cry - its a breach of civil liberties - try flying from a Yellow Fever country to one that does not have it - no vaccination certificate, no entry...and many other such normal practices the woke lot want to blame for all their ills 555

  4. I have had a similar white fungus on other plants - a local advised using a dish detergent and water in a sprayer - that cleaned it up quickly...the local said this is a dry season issue and not seen in rainy/ low season.  I left the detergent on the plant and then watered the following day...most of the fungus came off with the watering...My plants (4 infected) looked worse for a week and then recovered strongly.

    Good luck

  5. Hi

looking for advice. I understand from other posts that there is no online or over the phone ordering from IKEA. I need to buy 10 mattresses and 4 sofas and a bunch of other stuff - I cannot possibly pick it all in one go to take to the shipping department - any advice on how I can get help with 10 double mattresses and 4 sofas through the checkouts? I will then ship it south of Krabi

    thanks for any advice

  6. Hi

I have had a few dogs and each from time to time gets red between the pads on the paw - sometimes as in this case the dog needs help as it becomes itchy and sore. The cure a vet gave me was a simple one and I have done it to a lot of dogs.

Take a bowl of water (body temperature) and disolve so bicarbonate of soda (a baking product also called sodium bicarbonate or sold in the form of baking powder where it is the main ingredient) approx 1 teaspoon per litre/quart. Have the dog stand his paw in the bowl/bucket and gently wash the paw for 3 or 4 min. Do this morning and evening (more if you want). The redness should lessen after the first day and be gone within a about a week. If it comes back then 1-2 days of the treatment will usually clear it up.

    Give it a go

  7. Get hold of some food grade Diatomatic earth (check it out on youtube) - it should take the MSG build up out of your system and any build up of heavy metals, helpful if you eat a lot of fish. Use 5g (a dessert spoon full) in a glass of water and down it - energy will be back in about 48 hours! (must be the white food grade not the red swimming pool filter grade)

  8. I agree - I am struggling to find builders project manager at a reasonable cost - first team that quoted this also quoted 1.88M +20% for a 12x4m pool (2.4m deep for 3m then 1.5m) which seems obscene.... All in all the price for a 600sqm house is BHT20.5M to build, paint dig a well and connect to elec (not including the land) the second quote I got was BHT60M!!!! It has some funky glass work on the front and some 12x8m space without columns for a living room upstairs and down but still it seems the right prices is excessive - I figured it would be around BHT10-15M at the most....not sure how to find a builder and project manager to deliver this at a reasonable cost??

  9. Thanks man - you are a star - I was in the process of agreeing a cost plus 20% contract - to give an example of 'Cost'

    240KSC Your price Bht1849 cubic M

    240KSC My builder Bht 3500 cubic M + 20%

I was being quoted pretty much double +20%!

    I owe you a beer! thanksclap2.gif

  10. Hi - I wonder if anyone can help. I am about to start building on Koh Lanta, south of Krabi. The costs my developer is quoting for concrete look high - could anyone advise me of the prices per cubic meter for:

    1. Concrete

    2. Lean Concrete

    3. Concrete 240 KSC

and also the price of re enforced bar (for various diameter would really help)

    Many thankswai2.gif

  11. you can try a glue trap from most hardware stores (used for vermin but good to see what is walking around your bedroom) but don't roll over on it otherwise you will have yourself a brazilian waxing!

  12. Its strange - smokers don't think cigarette butts are litter, when they stop smoking they suddenly do and complain about the mess and the people who throw the butts away and then start smoking again and as if by magic they litter again and justify it by saying where am i supposed to put it...

  13. I replaced an aortic valve 18 months ago (age 44 very fit) - I get the sort of pains (and did pre surgery). Best thing is to check it out - they will re measure your heart size (and aortic chamber. If this is growing your heart will get bigger and thinner. At this stage they will intervene...best bet is to go for an echo, they will most probably tell you to come back in a year and re measure and so on until you need an intervention or simply you r heart never starts to grow. There are measures you can take to stop your heart growing, given your condition I would research them (diet, excercise intensity etc).

An MRI gives more insight but all you need is the echo cardio gram and a decent surgeon to monitor it.

  14. I use one, and have for over a year or so.....works well for me. No complaints so far

Weegee - can you share the dimensions of your pool - I spoke to a developer in Thailand who said the cooper ionisation struggles outside but is good for an indoor pool or a small pool...any advice gratefully received...

  15. If it is up to you that does not mean you need to reply - the NLP response would be silence and a warm smile - she will not know the decisions unless she asks - if she asks, then respond with an open ended questions - what are the pros and cons? Up to you is intended as a conversation closure - so consider it closed until she re opens it and then keep it open - no conflict, no change in voice tone, relaxed...
