Are we supposed to guess your nationality?

Hi,
My wife will be flying BKK to London in January next year. I'm in the UK and want to pay for her ticket by credit card. I don't want to book through a UK agency as it may complicate things.
So I'm looking for an agency in Bangkok she can book through, and I can then give my c.c. details to. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Surely you are joking. If you've been to Thailand you should know that it would never be as simple as giving your credit card details over the telphone.
What are you thinking?
If you are lucky, you may get away with faxing a copy of your passport, together with both sides of your credit card and a signed confirmation of your permission to debit your CC.
Try; http://www.travelconnecxion.com/ or http://www.atninter.com/
It will be best to make initial contact by telephone. Charlie for the first company. Mr Lee for the second.
Use 0844 861 49 49 to call for 1p per minute from your BT landline.
Let me know how you get on.

Almost certainly ######.

<font color='#000000'>"walking distance to the action" is what I'm concentrating on.
You won't go wrong with either the Siam Bayshore or Bayview hotels.
The Bayview is at the quiet end of Walking Street. Handy to most things. Nice hotel, nice swimming pool, tennis courts (international standard) etc.
The Bayshore is also a very nice hotel with large swimming pool, tennis courts (concrete surface) but this is situated outside the main night time areas but is located near good shopping outlets and lots of restaurants. It is well within walking distance to all the main attractions, or a short baht bus ride if you don't feel like walking.
Good luck.</font>
You've got this the wrong way around. It's the Siam Bayshore that is on Walking Street.

Did you edit out the name of the hotel?

In addition, if you need to send to a DTAC number, you can use this utility; http://www.dtac.co.th/en/customer/OnlineSe...neservices.aspx
Once registered, you can send 50 free messages per month. The SIM you are registering has to be connected to a phone in Thailand or roaming, as you need to confirm the registration by calling 1877 from said mobile.

Hmmm... 30000 baht should cover it.
http://www.searchtravels.com/index.cfm?menuid=554 and http://www.pacific-leisure.com/rates/ can give you a better idea of costs.
Even booking direct with Thai or BA on their websites comes in at under 50,000.

Personally I'm not enamoured with some of the developments on Samui.
Seems there is little of the 'real' Samui left, with so much being given over to commercial development.
Happily, there are still some amazing spots to enjoy.

I thought they liked the most expensive model they could get.

For the best burger you'll need to wait until night. There are a number of food stalls on wheels that appear close to the Burger King.
Good chicken sandwiches and burgers for 60 to 70 baht.

Thanks guys. I'll check out Juzza and Big Poppas next week. =)
Sounds like I'll avoid the attitude problem over at Il Mulino's though.
Don't be a wimp! Get over there and try it for yourself.
-
Vakentino , have you been to the new Il Mulino? That lady there sure has an attitude problem. Love their food but never going back there again.
No, haven't been to the new one. Where is it? Bang Rak?
Actually, a few people have complained about a sour attitude.
Personally, I've never had a problem with either of them.
They are just a normal family running a business and bring up their son.
In order to maintain the 'real' quality of the product, they do everything themselves. This includes baking the Italian breads, preparing the products, Pizza, Calzone etc Selling and delivering the breads...
It wasn't even a restaurant per se. It was just a cosy area in front of the bakery with two or three tables.
I imagine that they may get tired and tetchy at times.
Go there with a more open mind. (-:
(Hmmm.... I must be in a good mood)
-
If going to Juzza Pizza, specify the type of base you would like.
If you prefer a more 'Italian' pizza, try Il Mulino. Though, you'll have to catch the Puglian baker at the right time in order to get a custom made one.
There are a number of decent Italian restaurants on Samui.

Avast has long since used 'On Access Protection' and it's free.

There will be no requirement to show the CC again once initially presented.
Secondly, the cardholder does not have to travel, but may need to be the one presenting the card.
Most, if not all online bookings will have this clause in the terms and conditions, though many don't enforce it in practice.

Songthaews(Two bench taxis) are available at the pier. 50 baht to Chaweng.
Meter(!) Taxis will prob. ask for 400 baht. You can negotiate.

I for one, don't drink. I don't like the Katoeys trying to touch me or trying to follow me on their motorbikes.
There are more sex tourists are going to Samui. This unfortunately, attracts more prostitutes and ne'er do wells to the island.
I remember the times when people used to visit the island for it's natural beauty.
Now it seems that some can't do without dubious forms of entertainment.
The katoeys are well known for thier thievery and volatility.
I for one don't like someone threatening me when I refuse their advances and trying to touch me when I walk past in the street.
Of course I can handle the situation, but it is uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, the aforementioned girl was not able to handle the situation and was set upon by Katoeys.
Where in the world is it acceptable for a girl to be set upon by a group of men?
Do you know what the official punishment is for this crime? A 500 baht fine.
A 500 baht fine for an unprovoked beating of a girl on holiday in the street. Plus hours or days of holiday time wasted going to the police station.
If it wasn't so serious, it would be almost laughable to read some of the pseudo-intellectual clap-trap posted by certain characters.

If you had a CC, it is possible to purchase tickets from Bangladesh, via the airlines websites as they issue e-tickets.
-
With a tourist visa, you will get a 30 day extension for 1900 baht. You can get another extension after this, around 10 to 15 days, for another 1900 baht.
If it is ten days but you hold a ticket showing that you are booked to leave in 11 or 12 days, they may at their discretion, extend it until that date.

There are some real IDIOTs on this forum.
Being pushed off a balcony doesn't strike me as trivial.
Yet some think that this is a forum for their petty nonsense.
There IS a Katoey problem on Chaweng. Very few appreciate being accosted on their way home by these freaks.
It's not their existence that is the problem, it's the atrocious behaviour....
Correct there are some idiots on this forum - why don't you read your post again.
I'm missing your point. I'd like you to elaborate. Do you disagree with my use of the English language?
Second point; To reiterate it is not their existence(on Samui) that is the problem. It's the atrocious behaviour of some of them that spoils it for the rest.
Clear enough for you?
Again, the original post is a very serious matter. How about we keep to the point?
Freak:
A thing or occurrence that is markedly unusual or irregular:
An abnormally formed organism, especially a person or animal regarded as a curiosity or monstrosity.
A sudden capricious turn of mind; a whim: “The freaks of the psyche can no more be explained than the Devil” (Maurice Collis).
Slang.
A drug user or addict: a speed freak.
An eccentric or nonconformist person, especially a member of a counterculture.
An enthusiast: rock music freaks.

Luckily no one is forcing you to go there.
I don't get involved in the politics, I just enjoy the food.
