Bali ,the people are nice ,but over run by tourism ,Thailand you can live cheap and if you don't mix with the people much ,then it's okay . The attractive aspect here is the low cost of living . China has good laws ,and people are more careful to commit crimes ,because the punishments are severe ,and their lives are ruined . So they are cautious . If you run over a pedestrian over there ,you are in deep shit . In Thailand motorcycles are better than pedestrians , and cars are before than both ,so you better watch your arse in Thailand ,because you can die very easily. Why? ,because they don't have Laws protecting people !. Rape is rampant in Thailand as well , but you never hear because people are too ashamed to speak .  They got Buddhism, but there are a lot of wild people here . And the respect of humanity means nothing to them . You can pay someone to shoot someone for a mere ten thousand Bht . In the south where people are super hot tempered ,Murder is very common .  Yeah ,Thailand is not the peaceful place people think it is . Specially if you don't speak the language , shit can happen very easily. i met a german man who got stabbed in Chiang Rai mountains ,just walking minding his own business ,because they wanted to rob him . This man will never return to Thailand sure !. And they call Thailand the land of smiles .....what a joke.....i get along here because i know everything about that country.., but people who don't know have to watch out !. i came here in 2000 ,and at that time ,how many people treated us like shit ,and willing to cheat us ..... Now that poor woman on this subject is not able to walk properly because she got attacked by some retarded <deleted> and she tried to run away ,broke her back ,then got raped .....Ohhhhh that's just great .......

This man is right , i got away with it in the past about 4 years ago ,even at that time they almost did not let me board ,until i said that i would make it my own responsability if i was turned down on arrival.

i had no problem what so ever passing through immigration in Bangkok. got my one month ,and that's it !

but last time from LA ,they would not have let me on , but i had a visa .

So ,booking a cheap flight to a near by country might get you on . and if they refuse ,do like me ,and say you take the responsability if they don't accept you in Bangkok .What's their business anyway ? they are just transporters..........

If at last you need to .You will have to change the flight ,and get the dam visa .Good luck.........

Sadly very true here in CHiang mai as well-I followed a Thai woman on a motorbike over a road and a policeman stepped out of the shadows and stopped us-he waved the Thai woman on and demanded 500 Baht from me-I wAS OUTRAGED AND WOULDNT comply so he pulled out his book and issued a ticket for Baht 500 and kept my Drivers license. I went down to the station to speak to the commander and said just the same-that what good will it ever do Thailand to target foreigners and tourists,it will only drive them away in the long run.Tourists should be forgiven very readily because we dont know all the laws or see the non-existent signs or we many times we follow the Thais,when in Rome do as the romans do, so it is terribly unfair to stop only the Farangs.Later on after my fine was forgiven I went back several times and watched their actions and indeed they were stopping only foreigners.When they saw me taking video they packed up and left,presumably for aNOTHER STREET CORNER.What are they thinking?????????????????

I had a good friend who after years and being sick and tired of working Factory decided to give a hot , was very skeptical, then the shit started happening where she worked .I told her get the hell out of that business,it's not for you ! She listened to me and has been grateful ever since .

Now she is married with 2 kids living in England ,and we are still great friends.

It's appalling how these people are, really......Everyday we have to hear about their lies ,and deceit . I had a girlfriend we terminated last November ,but not because of money,but because of my uncertainty to stay in Thailand ,because of my discomfort about many things about the country ,and the people .We are still good relations ,and If i have any trouble ,she will always be there to lend a hand ,i know.

But i will tell you something . This person was and is the most integral human being i have ever met. She would go out of her way to save us money , and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it.

Never did she ever do any of the things your wife has been doing with you !

I could give her complete trust at all times , she never changed. A person with such integrity, honesty, and generosity , with an excellent intelligent mind hard to find in this world. Never a lie of any kind . Just a good person all around .

Not a common woman ,and also not pleased by the thinking or behaviors of her own people all around .

A real Thai, but a real outsider at the same time .She was well informed about the dirty Politics of her country, and how corrupted they really are.

Many Thai women are like that and considered wonderful females to have known their acquaintance ...but .......for some reason a notable percent of them do not remain that way after they get married and the years go by.

I have personally known several men who married Thai women just because they were excited, "enthralled" because their Thai women was such a sweetheart and worthy of being married too.

Several years later and after 1 or 2 children the marriage turned into the "wife from hell"...surprise, surprise...while the guy himself, by way of all and or any standards would be considered to be a great guy and not a lout or sleaze ball in any way...rather a right stand up guy, so to speak....but the wife went all mental and destroyed a perfectly good marriage.

Too many of them are like ticking time bombs...and you never know until you are right there in the thick of things.
