  1. Hey Everyone

Has anybody got any advice on going to Myanmar.  I'm hoping to go there soon, and would appreciate any tips and info. e.g. where to go and where to avoid, guesthouses, bars etc.

    Thanks

  2. Hey Seville

Sorry, I can't really help you on the airport situation, because I've never been there.  I went to Cambodia on the bus.  However, the Chamnan GH is in the centre of Siem Reap near the Central Old Market off Sivutha Street. There's also many other guest houses in this area.

    Cheers

  3. I'm not really sure what Kaysfeld is on about. Chonabot's on to it.

I want to leave the UK on a one way ticket, but don't want to turn up at the airport (Manchester) only to be told that I am not allowed to board the plane to Thailand because I don't have a return ticket.  I have been told by a friend that this may be the case.  If it is then i'll just have to get a return ticket.

    Peace

  4. Hey Eastender

Going to Poipet is probably the cheapest and easiest way of doing a border run.  Buses from KSR leave everyday at about 6.30am, and arrive back in BKK early evening.  Go to any travel agent on KSR.  I can recommend Olavi Tours (53 Chakkrapong Rd. - just off KSR).

You will need a Cambodian visa.  Get one at any travel agent in BKK (about $20), or at Aranya Prathet at the border.  The bus will stop here for an hour at a restaurant for people to get a Cambodian visa - and then on to Poipet.

    Take it easy

  5. Hey Seville

I went to Angkor last February for a week. Stayed at a place called the Chamnan Guest House.  This joint was clean, comfortable and safe.  English and French speaking.  Twin room with fan and shower for $5 a night. About a 20 minute motorbike ride from the temples.

Their email address : [email protected]

056 Vihearchen Village, Siem Reap, Angkor. (off Sivutha Street).

    Hope this helps

  6. Hey everyone,

I'm returning to Thailand in August from England, having spent 6 months in SE Asia last winter.  Is it possible to get into Thailand with a one-way air ticket.  Last time I went to Bkk, I spent over £500 on a return ticket from Manchester, and didn't use it for returning - as I travelled around for 6 months. This time I also hope to stay for maybe a year or more (possibly working), and therefore do not really want a return ticket.  A friend has told me that some operators will not let you board the plane to Bkk without an onward ticket from Thailand.   Is this true ?

    Appreciate any replies

    Thanks :o
