  1. Thanks for all the feedback. I guess all I need to do now is go to the airport approximately 4 hours before my flight to clear everything, and hope they don't detain or blacklist me (I have heard/read conflicting reports).

You will not be detained or blacklisted as long as you have the 20k baht to pay the fine.

A friend of mine overstayed for at least a year and had 20,000 Baht on him to pay the fine when going to the airport, but the official just let him go through - not sure if he picked up on the overstay or not.

  2. Were the penisis measured when flaccid or erect? I think this is an important detail.

It may not be Thai peope's fault if a report I once read is true. It claimed that in some Asian countries, estrogen was added to lipsticks to reduce the size of Thai boys' genitals. I also have concerns about street vendors here in Thailand filling plastic bags with hot soup as this may mobilise the BPA in the plastic. Not good!

  3. All these things are business opportunities, to say it politely, or opportunities to defraud the taxpayers of public funds under the pretext of protecting the public health. This was the case with the 1976 "swine flu" in the USA. This business model was then expanded globally with the 2009 swine flu when the WHO changed the definition of the term 'pandemic' in order to be able to declare a pandemic for the benefit of the medical-pharmaceutical industry. This then obligated the 190+ WHO-affiliated countries to stock Oseltamivir (Tamiflu) and H1N1 vaccines for their citizens. The that the virtually untested vaccine was of unproven benefit and unproven safety seemed to be of no concern, nor the fact that Tamiflu is similarly ineffective and dangerous. Tamiflu was produced by Roche under license of Gilead, whose major shareholder is or was US war criminal Donald Rumsfield who made millions from Tamiflu royalties. There is really nothing we can do to prevent such blatant money-making racketeering, but we can at leasy become informed in order to avoid these toxic drugs and vaccines for ourselves and our families.

  4. Urging Thailand to restore democracy is in my opinion a bit rich coming from a representative of a country which has specialised in toppling democratically elected governments all over the world over the past century.

It is surely also the epitome of hypocrisy to illegally invade and occupy sovereign countries "to restore democracy", and then to reprimand Thailand for waging a coup. Perhaps the US thinks that in doing so will cover the fact that the US government is the world's biggest terrorist organisation with a smokescreen.

  5. This guy had a medical problem years ago. The illness was traced back to that and as it was a pre-existing condition his Travel Insurance was null and void for this illness

It reminds us all to list any pre-existing condition when taking out a policy

Guillain-Barre is also often a consequence of vaccination, particularly the flu shot. I wonder it was a flu shot that could have triggered the condition due to his pre-existing medical condition.

  6. Make available the missing cctv footage and then people will have to agree! If they have nothing to hide invite the U.k in to do an investigation and go over the evidence, this will appease everyone and show that they really do have the correct people in custody!

It would also be good to make footage of the police interview public to see what interrogation methods were used.

  7. You can't get it in Hua Hin. You have the choice of Pranburi or Cha-Am. I've never been to the Cha-Am office but the Pranburi office is located down a small soi beside the big military base that has it's entrance at one of the main Pranburi traffic lights. Go south into Pranburi until you get to that light. You'll know it as a right turn will put you into the gate of the big Pranburi military base. Make a U turn at the light and immediately get into the far left lane where you will make a left into the very next small soi running beside the base. The driving license testing facility is about a kilometer down that small road on the left.

You'll need a letter from immigration, a medical certificate from a doctor or hospital, your previous foreign license and an international license if you have one (hopefully you do as it makes it much easier). You also need a photo but that can be taken near or at the facility.

At a minimum you'll have to take three simple physical tests, reaction time, vision, and depth of field (lining up two sticks with strings at a distance of about 10 feet). These three tests are very easy. You may also have to watch a safety movie and depending on your paperwork (previous licenses) you may or may not have to take a written test and a driving test.

I recommend you take someone with you who can read and speak Thai.

Good information - was just going to say the same but in less detail! I went to the Pranburi Office last week - had to do the reaction time and depth of vision test and also call out the colours of three dots (red yellow and green) the officer doing the testing was calling out, to check for colour blindness. I didn't have to do the exam or a practical driving test. I did get a letter from Immigration in Hua Hin first - go past the Hua Hin hospital and then turn left at the sign, then turn left again after about 200 m and drive for about 1km until you see the Immigration office on the left - it's a small and inconspicuous building (there was a sign saying they are going to shift soon). The Pranburi office gave me a provisional license for a year on showing them my New Zealand driver's license - will have to sit the full exam in June next year to get the 5-year license.

I took the attached photo at the Pranburi office. I think it the Thai way of saying "This counter is unattended". So funny!

  9. Deaths caused by misfiring rockets are an annual part of the Bun Bung Fai Festival (sorry if my spelling is wrong). When I went to the big one at Yasothon some years back, an area near the launching site was marked off as dangerous, but hundreds of people were picnicking inside the danger area. One rocket whistled overhead, and some fool shouted "Challenger!" and howled with laughter. It was just after the Challenger disaster.

YUP! I was in Yasothan last year for it. I was shocked to see the proximity of the people to the launch sites, the amount of Lo Khao being consumed while launching and preparing, and the lack of "official" supervision for this event. It was a great time and I didn't see anyone get hurt, but it is scary at the potential for disasterous results. These are not small rockets either! VERY big and powerful homemade projectiles!

Last year two men were killed when a rocket landed on their car:

  10. There are literally hundreds is websites that rail against vaccinations for one reason or another...some use religion, mysterious "energies' or pseudo science..but none of them have any real scientific basis for this.

It is difficult to sort the real from the butter or scam, but it is also a common mistake by many to confuse "big pharma" with good science km and then jump to illogical conclusions about real science that may save your life.

Vaccinology is junk science, not science.

  11. Idiots. NEVER get vaccinations.

And hundreds of articles more. My friends Thai wife had his son vaccinated and now has autism. Ditto on three others I know. I hear the excuse all the time 'Thai people do' and I shudder. Ignorance of Thai people from the scientific and biological understanding of their anatomy is simply outrageous. And when Governments team up with Big Pharma, the issue is compounded immensely. It is simply criminal and no recourse whatsoever.

This myth has been shown to be nonsense time and time again. Sad thing is that the above post is a perfect example of someone confusing association with cause as proof.

I suggest you don't blindly believe everthing the mainstream media tell you. I have researched vaccination for 20 years and have arrived at the inevitanle conclusion that vaccination is a particularly vile form of organised crime.

  12. some do not like vaccinations. I get it.

I personally have no problems with it.

I get the annual flu vaccination when i can remember to. NO Problem!

but given what i've learn about TL's pharmaceutical industry

Neither myself nor my baby (if i had one) will be first in line.

I'll still let my baby get it. but maybe i'll take a quick vacation to Oz or the US.whistling.gif

for vaccinations for myself, i'll make sure the vaccine is "mature" first whistling.gif

To make a sensible decision you need to do some proper research which would show you that vaccines cause far more harm including deaths than the diseaeses they are used against.

Right... 'Cos Thalidomide never happened in the UK... Blue Baby Syndrome never occurred as a result of too much fluoride doctoring the water supplies...

I think you should back off a little on the Thai Bashing..

That said, I'm highly sceptical of new vaccinations.

But, Polio, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Typhoid, TB and Hep B are not new as individual vaccinations which if not taken could have catastrophic results.

I would be inclined question a 'one covers all cocktail' though, at least until thoroughly proven over decades of trials.

Vaccines have never prevented anything apart from health, sanity and common sense.

  14. I had a similar experience in Fiji - suffered from pain chests and shortness of breath so got a doctor to check it out. She did an ECG and had me admitted to a private hospital for observation. There they ran all sorts of tests, got me to stay the night and charged me about $800 the tests and my stay. On discharging me the doctor advised me to visit a specialist on returning to New Zealand in case of stents might be necessary and prescribed me some blood-thinning aspirin pills and some nitroglycerin pills I was supposed to take if the tightness in my chest were to return. I did feel the symptoms return and on taking one of the nitroglycerin pills my heart started to pound like a sledge hammer! I therefore took only half a pill the next time but again my heart pounded like mad, so I threw the aspirin and the nitroglycerine in the rubbish.

On my return to New Zealand I read up about stents in Lynne McTaggarts great book 'What Doctors Don't Tell You' and immediately decided against seeing a specialist. My chest and heart have been perfectly fine in the years since this happened.I later figured out that my problems had been stress-related.

I also went to a hospital here in Bangkok for a medical check-up because I was feeling chronically fatigued (possibly because I was teaching English to 8-year-olds at the time!). The doctor ran all kind of tests including an HIV test (which I later found out is a complete fraud) and a syphilis test which I agreed to even though I thought it was silly. I drew the line at getting a Hepatitis B vaccination he recommended. There was no way I would let him inject me with this genetically engineered vaccine which has a horrendous track record. as

I also went to a doctor once to get a medical certificate for the school wher I worked to attest that I was genuinely sick with the flu. That however wasn't as easy as one would think because he also prescribed me a bunch of pills I was instructed to pick up from the pharmacy. Each type of pill had a different gaudy colour an was neatly packed in its own plastic bag, one type of pill for each symptom: fever, cough, headache, nausea. I never took any of them. Talk about drug pushers! It must cost the country a fortune to medicate the population with these poisons!
