  1. She could produce some great things.

once they get rid of the current goverment, till than......

also plenty of eatable ( not great but) western food for under $6/dish in Phnom Phen, Shv an Siem Rep

how can you be sure a new govt would still have the same favourable visa rules? me i think not.

much more to cambo than Phnom Phen, Shv an Siem Rep, personally i have never been to the last two and on latest few trips spend as little time in PP as possible. anyhow its not western food that i eat in asia and neither do i pay close to 6$/dish for anything edible except perhaps a tray of durian occasionally.

  2.

    From JIB.co.th

    3.0 TB SEAGATE EXPANSION (STBV3000300) BLACK - 0454082360 Baht4190 inc tax

  3. "Water chlorination has been completed as the final step in the water treatment process"

chlorine and fish results in dead fish. so all the fish that get fed at Tha Pae gate are no more? pity, feeding the fish was one of the very few enjoyable activity that still was allowed to exit in chiang mai

  4. tuk-tuk "good woman" as in doing me a genuine big favour "i know where there are some good woman i can take you to"

me on reflection "thailand no have good woman"

tuk-tuk insulted and offended but speaking from inner self "thailand no have good farang!"

me laughs hysterically and continues walking in original direction.

obviously was long ago. these years my only reply on the very infrequent occasions i do actually reply would only consist of loud barking.

  5. The girls i found in shopping malls and so on, all wanted to quit their jobs so i could take care of them within the first week of the "relationship".

I've said this so many times before, though nobody really agrees with it:

Looking at the type of person (Socio-economic situation if you will) working in shopping malls and other lower / lower-mid range professions, there is very little difference between the people in that group that didn't switch to work in bars and the minority that did.

You are fishing in the same pool. That's a pool of people for whom money is an incredibly important aspect of a relationship, AND FOR GOOD REASON. (So don't think I'm slagging off people in that group, either the mall/shop/Tesco/7-11 ones or the bar ones.) Finding a partner with enough money and with an attitude of taking care fo their partner IS THE DIFFERENCE between a solid education for any of her chidren, or not. It IS THE DIFFERENCE between her parents having a reasonably comfortable, healthy and cared for retirement, or not.

So firstly stop thinking there is something wrong with that attitude and calling it mercenary. It's called survival, or 'common sense' if you will.

To get out of that whole mess where finances totally hang over your day to day relationship like a wet blanket, you must change pools. OR accept that you will be taking care of your (yes, YOUR) family to some degree.

    thanks for this viewpoint WinnieTheSmarterKhwai

  6. As someone who has used and taught about medicinal herbs and wild edible plants for almost forty years, I advise you never to eat anything ... esp. wild plants ... unless you are 100% sure you know what it is and that it is absolutely safe to ingest. And be esp. wary of arm-chair plant "experts" who identify a plant from two blurry photographs and tell you that it's safe to eat. I know several poisonous plants that look very similar to other safe-to-eat plants. This is esp. true of mushrooms. Each year in USA several people are injured for life or are killed when they mistake poison hemlock for wild parsley or wild carrot; or eat poisonous foxglove (Digitalis spp) when they think it's comfrey.

Indeed there are very many wild plants and mushrooms that are perfectly safe to eat ... I do it all the time. But I have seen far too many people eat toxic plants that they thought were safe.

There are old wild weed eaters, and there are bold wild weed eaters, but there are no old bold wild weed eaters.

    hmm yes fair enough.

there is also this plant that looks the same and grows in the same way but is not the same as it has yellow flowers not white. ID would be difficult if there were no flowers to see.

PS . i didnt bo biology past junior high many years ago so make no claim at being correct.

  7. yes know about html 5, but tell us what browser u are currently using and/or flash player

tried to ditch flash long ago but wasnt satisfied with the alternatives then, havent looked since.

my firefox 17.0.11 and opera need the flashplayer.

    google's spyware no thanks.

Firefox 17!? Hopefully a typo unless you just like old versions of Firefox. Isn't the latest Firefox version around 27 or 28?

    FireFox versions: LInk

yes it 17 and when i check its version it tells me it is upto date. thing is i barely use it so i dont take much interest in what is current. it came preinstalled. i use opera mostly but also an older version which i liked and stuck with after a long string of current updates of the time. unfortunately recent flashplayers are now not working properly in my older opera so that is about the only time i switch to the firefox to view embedded vids or i just download the vids and watch them locally in gnome mplayer. some webpages wont display properly in my older opera so i then also go to the firefox i have and it gets the job done. have considered using older flashplayers in my opera but havent got around to actually rolling back, watching vids is not a major part of my internet experience.

  8. In Penang beach beware of jelly fish attack, Ferringi beach side are famous tourist destination but due to global warming many jelly fish appear near the beach very close to swimmers .

oh is that what it is? i though it was because of all the earthquakes.

morning train Had Yai to Butterworth and gets in at a reasonable daylight time but not b4 the thai embassy is closed for applications.

  9. sIs this another idea for bringing all types of cheap tourists and crooks to Thailand?

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

yes they all come to thailand because the thai are so much stupider than other nationalities. so easier to crook from. everybody, even the chinese know that.

look here is a story by that paragon of truth and virtue "the Nation" describing just that http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/719665-bangkok-3-chinese-sought-in-heist-of-rare-10mil-baht-montblanc-watch/

  10. still forking over 100s of dollars for the extension so not much if any gain in visa costs. but much more convenient yes. major drawback is there are no sevens. and nowhere near the choice of edible food. still got fruits and rice though. eat as much 5 star chicken as you can before you cross the border, you are going to miss it..

  11. That would have worked nicely 20 or so years ago, look like those TAT guys are way out of touch

of what tourism cost now days....

hey come on 100 baht buys at least 12 trips on the ordinary non-aircon bmta buses in bkk if you select long trips and heavy traffic you could fill a good portion of the day and see a lot of bkk.

or if you are thai, you could take any number of free intercity 3rd class trains and still have you original 100 baht note intact, at the end of a weeks travel assuming you bring your own picnic lunch dinner and breakfast..

edit yeah and there are also the free bmta buses too so with a little planning and some free entry sites 100 baht no problem.

faster, so what when you got a comfy lower berth sleeper
