If importing into Thailand for resale most products are subject to 30% tax + 7% Vat + 1% insurance so for example if you have an item costing 1000 Baht.
1000x30%=1300
1300x7% =91
1391x1% =1405
Thats what they told me at customs and thats the way they showed me how to calculate it,in that order.Hope this helps.
Cheers

My Friend has a daughter aged 4 and wants to take her to the Uk for a holiday. She holds both a Thai and British passport. The question is can she leave Thailand on her Thai passport and use her Uk passport on arrival, and when returning to Thailand use her Thai passport for re-entry without obtaining any permission or anything from immigration.

I Would reccomend the Rimkok as the best value for money altough the service in the Dusit is better, but i was very happy at the Rimkok. For location maybe the Wiangcome is the best situated for walking around, also the Gallery opposite serves the best breakfast in Chiang Rai and the night bazaar is one minute walk away.Hope this helps but only my opinion.

I have had my Fortuner for 3 months now,it is an excellent vehicle and so comfortable to drive.Great interior and comes with reverse sensors as standard [great for the wife to go shopping] and air con in the back seats [great for the mother in law] and because you are higher up your visibility is wonderful [you can actually see the taxi slamming his brakes on 10 cars in front].I had a Jaguar X type before in my own country and the fortuner has everything inside that the Jaguar did without having to pay for it,i.e. the reverse sensors cost me 100000 Baht extra.
Have driven 6k in it now and have averaged 10 kilometers to the litre.I have the 3 litre diesel version and would recomend that as opposed to the petrol version as it has that much more power.
Iwas quoted 6 months waiting in Chiang Mai but went to Toyota Chiang Rai and was in possession of my new vehicle within 4 weeks.
Hope This has helped.

Hi pretty new to Chiang rai.Check out the Gallery left hand side of the Wiangcome Hotel for the best breakfast and coffee ive had in the north and the chay naam restaurant next to the river for Thai food.

I had a similar situation. You need to go to the employment office where they issue your work permit. If you give power of attorney to somebody i.e your lawyer they can go in person to the employment office 3 days before you permit expires and you will be granted a 30 or 45 day grace period, sorry i cant remember which, and when you arrive back in Thailand you must get your work permit stamped within 3 days of your arrival.Hope this helps. It is as i understood it,and i arrived back 28 days after my permit had expired and everything was fine.

Its both. The correct Thai is Chiang Rai but the Northern people speak Jiang Hai because its the local northern dialect.A bit like sow baht is 20 baht in north dialect and yee sip baht in thai
