There is one like this but looked a bit bigger,

I saw it on an aerox parked but don't know where to buy it yet

    Probably somewhere on Facebook...

I sore that but the edges are to sharp to hang to many plastic bags they'll rip. You can get one that's solid aluminium and smooth with out  any sharp edges, unlike that one.

I'd send you a photo when I go back.

Never seen any orange light on mine as of yet but I would ride it and see what happens...it's under warranty anyway and they're cheap as chips

If it breaks down, just call them again

Many people complain about the abs model on Thai forums, the stop start thing doesn't work sometimes I've  read and the keyless thing is more hassle than an actual key but I haven't ruled out the possibility that most of them are idiots and haven't read the instructions properly lol

Yes mate a lot of people don't know how to use the remote control it's as simple as turning it on and leaving it on in your pocket that's all you need to do, and never touch the remote ever again after that. And all you do after that is approach the bike switch the knobs to start and go. When you get off the bike all you do is switch the knob on  the bike to off lock and walk away and the bike will turn itself off it's that simple you don't need to use the remote. I don't understand why people are having problems with that.

I don't know why you want the Indonesia color in Thailand but the only way will be to buy a Thai one and change it yourself

Not overly expensive but not something I'd bother with on a 62k scooter. If you change the color you also have to change the greenbook at the land department etc

I would just pick the colour you hate the least and just ride it, life's too short to try and get the Indonesia colour outside Indonesia

Your right mate the colour choice should be a lot wider than what they have provided for Thailand I don't understand why manufacturers do that when they know colour is a very personal thing and it could stop you from purchasing a bike.

Where can you order or go get a hook?

Are they aerox specific or any aftermarket hook will work?

Any aftermarket hook they also need an extension to the hook it's about 25mm in length because where the hook goes on the aerox it's quite deep the hole.

A few minor niggles I noticed

The mirror stalks are a bit short for perfect visibility and there is no hook to hang a bag of groceries at the front, but the bike is a real bargain for the price

The performance of that engine alone makes it worth the money imo

The acceleration is surprisingly quick for a 155cc scoot and it's still agile like a cat weaving through bkk traffic..

If you own a 125cc or something Test drive one of those, you will be impressed

Mate you can buy a hook I did it's perfect.

After a week rental i am impressed with this bike

Rented  the R  version with the factory nitrogen rear shocks  and did find the suspension very hard compared to other bikes

I am torn between what to buy

I wanted the abs model but the rental guy said the abs model is more troublesome than the others and substantially more expensive

The remote key doesn't always work how it should etc and they only give you 1 (no spare) and if you lose that it costs a crazy price for a new one, (also the stop start fuel saving thing doesn't always start when the lights go green, you can find loads of complaints about it on the Thai language forums)

Standard is well priced and you can upgrade the shocks yourself to whatever you prefer but the colours are a bit less premium looking than the other models

Any current users have any recommendations?

    (I'll probably buy/order one tomorrow )

The cost for a new remote 1,100 baht.

The remote workes well for me each time without any problems.

What you've got to remember is not to turn it off and on all the time.

Remember once you walk away from the bike the bike will lock automatically and once you approach the bike it will unlock automatically you do not have to keep on using the remote to turn it off and on all you need to do is to have the remote in your pocket and that's it it's that simple.

What you've been doing is turning the remote on and off each time when you got off the bike where you don't need to just keep it in your pocket  and on at all times. The bike will Sense the remote once you're near it and once you walk away from it. It will automatically lock and unlock the bike... does that make any sense to you.

To save 3000 baht just do a quick read about Wave disk breaks and those extra shock tanks, I doubt they make a huge difference in the performance of a scooter - I just came across an article about Wave disk breaks, mainly used for race track bike performance to avoid overheating during high speed competitions, in fact they eat break pads quicker than normal and have less breaking power at lower temperatures, hardly useful for a scooter around town or even at moderate speeds on the road.

I am no expert, I just did a Google search and read a few pages....but I know manufacturers add these extras to grab a few box, so like to check if they worth it.

Saying that the reason for going with R version for better colors, or colors that you like, is a good one... !

Your absolutely right but the shocks do make a difference for rebound lot more comfortable.

What price are people paying or being quoted for the R model recently?  I am looking to buy one in Chiang Mai, best price I have seen so far is 67,900B out the door.  Surprisingly that is from the Yamaha dealer in old city, which I thought might have been the most pricey?

Thats not bad price and when you say out the door is that including the registration?

Happy to read your continuing plaudits for the Aerox, have had 3 PCX's and getting a little bored now.  The price on the PCX also seems to be going up a lot so the Aerox sounds like a good next change for me.

Yes mate I'm a bike enthusiast and yes I would say 100% the Aerox by far much superior bike.

    My one has it.

Sorry mate don't want to argue with you but the R model doesn't that's the only reason I didn't buy the R because it didn't have the ABS so I've just put the suspension shocks for 4500 baht then the Weaver discs for 1100 baht...anyway take a photo of your bike and let me see.... by the way is your bike a remote control or is it a key model.

I feed 40 dogs myself everyday at a temple the key is and i've done this on my own we got them fixed and give them their shots i keep a book  when their due and they all have names. What i have learned is people see us feeding them everyday and dogs we don't know show up because people have dumped them there knowing they'll be taken care of and that makes me mad.

I know exactly what you mean my girlfriend's parents had 7 dogs and they had to get rid of some of them and they said they were going to dump them at the temple I couldn't believe it when she said that...

Had a look at one today, love the styling, seating position was ok for me at 5',10" but could do with being a little bit bigger.

Did not order because they were asking 71,900 for the R version and 81,500 for the ABS version, will take a look at a bigger Yamaha dealership on Samui to see if they will do a better price.

Got mine for 77,000 with all on road cost and 3 years warranty that's ABS version in matt Gray.

How easy and at what cost would it be to convert to ABS, I was looking to buy the same the R model and I would like it be ABS?.

You'd be better of buying one with ABS then just put the waiver disc for 1,100 baht then the shocks for 4,500 baht cheaper way to go because that's all the R model has and its a key start. Where the ABS model has a remote to start the bike.

I'm in Sakon Nakhon. Unfortunately neither of the local Yamaha dealers have any idea of availability time frame. Any of the informed members have any idea of when the Aerox will be heading out into dealer land ?

    Thanks.

It's out their now just got mine from Pattaya 77,000 baht with all on road cost that was with ABS model in matt Gray .

  15. 150,000 baht is not excessive that is about 3000 USD any of us know if that funeral back in your own countries it would cost in excess of about $10000 to $15000 so 150,000 baht is stuff all that is the going price and that is cheap.

Leasehold is the same as Chanote (freehold) but with a "minor" distinction, you don't own the land on leasehold but you own the house. Lease is normally 30+30+30 years. Who knows what happens after the first 30 years.

Tear it down after the lease runs out or burn it, your choice.

You can't own land as a person here in LOS with the Chanote title, you have to form a company to be able to do it and then you can only own 49% of the shares in a company, unless you are an american citizen, than 100%.

Price doesn't differ much between the two.

KamalaRider, there are a number of false statements in the post: First, most people who lease land do also lease their house. However, the ownership of the dwelling(s) can be separated from the land, but only if certain procedures are taken. Thus, one doesn't automatically own the house even if the lease contract say so; Secondly, the maximum legal lease period is 30 years, not 30+30+30 as stated. Furthermore, the 30 years lease is only valid if the lease has duly been registered at the land office, else the maximum lease period will be reduced to 3 years irrespectively of what the lease contract says; Thirdly, the 'company route' mentioned is illegal period! Although this is common i Thailand but that does not mean it is legal.

OP, if your wife is Thai, buy the property or settle for a condominium in your name if you are hesitant to buy in your wife's name. If 'she buys' you have better alternative to secure posessory rithts than leasing. A usufruct or a superficies are both much better alternatives than leasing.

I forgot to mention, American citizens may own a company in Thailand 100%, BUT SUCH A COMPANY IS NOT ALLOWED TO PURCHACE LAND!

  17. "They were tired" is often an excuse for bad behavior. They are punks is more to the point.

    Yes, agree with you.......

They are punks because they are trying to prevent other people from drowning.

They are punks because they risk their lives to save other peoples lives.

I hope when you are in danger, one of those punks is near you to save your life.

Why he is telling the truth jet sky scamming is where they belong, they could not save you if they tried they are the most hopeless lifesavers you can ever imagine.

  18. The guy must be happy about this 'discovery' now they can blame a bacteria for food poisoning and go on handling all kinds of food without any basic hygiene standards. "It's not us who makes you sick- it's the nasty bug!"

The funny thing is hygiene is not in the Thai vocabulary....How meany times have gone to a toilet in Thailand and seen so many people including chefs not wash their hands they are disgusting but they do have a clean Arse...lol
