  1. Having an International drivers license makes it quite easy to obtain a Thai License.Got my car and motorbike in about 40 min. in Pattaya.I was also stopped about 2 weeks ago and ask for my passport witch I don't carry with meI, I have a picture of my front page and visa on my phone and they accepted that and I didn't have to take a drug test 555 on the side of the road like everyone else was having to do.

  5. I been stopped there 2 times as well, Thai 5 year motor bike licence, copy of the green book, insuance sticker up to date, legal scooter, all ok and I am sent on my way again.

They don't bust anybody without a valid reason but yes okay it's easy for them to walk 25 meter out of the police station and set up shop and if the rain comes they will bugger off into the polece station. Easy money for city hall.

The tourist can then brag to their frinds back home that they got stopped by the police and paid 200 baht and was sent on their marry way again, I guess some of them will find that quite cool/funny.

In how many countries are you allowed to continue after being busted without licence?

Why do you carry your green book on your bike,I was told to leave my book at home.

  6. For gods sake man, stop complaining. It's not harassment, it's a routine check.

They probably thought you were Thai, they don't usually stop foreigners who wear helmets.. but they often stop and question/search Thai's.

    Oh no, that's discrimination !!

I was stopped the other day on sai song and soi 16 by 2 volunteer police and 1 thai police I was wearing a helmet ,showed them my Thaai lic.they said thankyou and I was off. They were stopping every farang that came by it took me a min. to get on my way because there so many bikes stopped.

From my experance having beers on BR next to the police station I see the police only target farangs helmets or not and they write tickets all day long.

I was talking to one off the volunteers as they were stopping a lot of bikes but not stopping the young Thais with no helmets and I said whats up with that,he said there too young they don't stop the young ones. ???

  7. If your really serious about her,I would advise you to get her out of the bar,and just remember she make's about 20,000 baht a month has rent to pay has to send money for her child.I hate to be negitive but she will be BF by the guy's she likes. But good luck to you and don't do anything too serious, the only way you are going to know what she is doing is to be here full time,I am also a casino worker (retired) Las Vegas. Maybe you can find work somewhwere close,They just opened Japan,Maybe Cambodia ect.ect.Again good luck.

  8. Im American and Im proud of that fact. I really dont care who YOU are and as long as you are decent to me we will get along and have my respect. But that being said, there are many people who open their a.s.s. traps here that spew hatred who would never see the time of day in my world. The OP posted an article an interesting one at that, and out spews hate from the masses.

Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

There jealous that there not Americans.
