3 June, a reporter for Khaosod newspaper jumped into a ditch to rescue a woman, whose car had flipped over and fell into the water, next to Thahan Si Kan Flats, Techa Tungkha Road, Si Kan Subdistrict, Don Mueang.
The white Mitsubishi Attrage sedan was upside down, with the driver trapped inside. The reporter who was with his wife, witnessed the accident, so stopped his car and jumped in to help the driver, and was able to open the car door and pull the lady to safety, before emergency services arrived.
The lady, who was returning home from the local market, said she “felt a sudden sensation and then the car flipped over”.
After the incident, the driver who was only slightly injured, did not require hospital treatment.

Hi Everyone. I'm flying out from London on Thursday night, arrive Bangkok about 3pm Thailand time on Friday afternoon. I would love to come and say 'Hello' to as many of you as I can. I intend to retire to Thailand permanantly next year so the more ex pat drinking buddies I can get to know the better. Can anyone recommend a hotel near the Sin Club? Been many times to Pattaya but my knowledge of Bangkok is limited. Grateful in advance.

I have spoken recently to the Bangkok Bank London Branch and they tell me that it is no problem to open an account once in Thailand on a Tourist Visa only. I wanted to go to London and open the account there first, but they said the account had to be opened in Thailand. Once I had done that, I could do business with the London branch as well.
