His quarantine is 10 years in a state facility.
Only 10, but what the H, if it was U or me we would have to serve life. Just because he is Thai n Rich he can come back with nothing being charged. I will just leave it at that and say this is totally WRONG!

I've been here 9 yrs. and Thailand doesn't know where to start to save lives on the road. They could start by a few simple things and grow to larger ideas to make things safe. Motorbikes going the wrong way because it's shorter the wrong way....... Sidewalks are what they say n mean! To walk on the side of the road not for bikes of any size, shape or power, I can also say CAR N TRUCKS. I swear at a scooter everyday when I walk 6 blocks to the store n 6 back and a few times a car or truck because the store is just a block back that way, I can drive down the sidewalk or drive the wrong way on the road hmmm? There is a Government office down the road, they have steal poles in the sidewalk to stop scooters from riding the sidewalk in front of the office. But they made my Pharmacy take their poles out of the sidewalk after they stuck them in a few days earlier to prevent the elderly from getting run over when visiting the Pharmacy???? I could go on n on but, I only live here n....you all know what I'm talking about. Thanks for listening!

Isn't it strange that
all increases are in other countries, The USA test more n more people everyday then any other country! The only increase in other countries are the ones that go to the hospital because they feel sick and then OH! they have Covid from days n days ago!, but no deaths.

It's going to be Thailand travelers travel only travel within Thailand for awhile. Even in the USA some places tell you if you come to our state you have to quarantine for 14 days and that is just within the USA. So, a one night stay, a weekend stay, or a week stay just became a 2 week +stay. Nobody has that much time n $$ to spend. Wait for a vaccine or a yearly shot like the flu before anyone travels outside any ones border.

The 70 million was hard assets confiscated. In a money laundering operation, its all about cash flows and cooking the books, and very little to do with hard assets. Thus the differential between the 70 million confiscated and the 200 billion value of the operation.
When i moved here I wondered why there were gold shops on both sides of the divided road, Thai's don't seen to be real rich, in Big C location and even a little further down the road. All the same company sign......Always have customers.... Whey did it take the authorities so long to see something is wrong? It's not normal to have that many outlets so close together and doing a booming business. I can see opposites sides of the road, the way Thai roads are, but little shops of the same Company, give me a break... Welcome to the real world......

"who can be easily tracked" sounds sinister, tracking wristbands possibly.
Why do you think they had you scanning the QR code when entering places, they can track you, it's on your phone. Doesn't matter if you signed out They got you the first time. GOTCHA!!!!! Nothing like that in the USA, the people knew better, they like to riot but some of them got caught on cameras that they didn't know about. GOT THEM another way! And the USA is trying to use facial recognition technology, airports will take your temp....come on their is a camera involved...... They do have it in at least Las Vegas everywhere, coming to a city near you!!!!

Come on make your mind up, is it the end of this week, or Sunday which is the start of next week!!!
A week ends at 00:00 as Thailand displays time so, May 16 00:00 is the end of the week and at 00:01 Malls can open but, no one will be awake to open or go shopping! IT WILL be Sunday May 17 when a week begins!

Where?
I hear you Bodga, I'm from the USA and they keep getting more n more cases, but they are testing the Hell out of the people. Where Thailand only knows the cases once the person goes to the hospital. The USA suicide rate has jumped 300% during this time mostly because of not working n the things that expand from that. The US is starting to open up but mostly on the least amount of cases/deaths. What the people hate the big places like a Tesco can open n sell everything but smaller places n mom n pop can't sell a penny!

What is more important is how it's been stored. Light will affect the taste of beer more than heat. I've seen bottles of Chang left stacked up and left in the sun ??! The light will penetrate lighter bottles like the green Chang ones and will make it taste skunky. I think that beer in cans often tastes fresher.
I agree with you! Now, Someone should tell the gas stations and other places about Plastic Bottled Water, Outside in the SUNLIGHT! and the people who have water bottles in their cup holder or on the floor in the car for days maybe in the SUN, also! NOT GOOD!!!????????

Can we reopen most of the the business centers?
If countries aren't testing people by the thousands like the USA n others you aren't going to get many unless they are sick n go to the hospital, duh!!! They don't want big groups of people! I was at Big C Shopping Center today May 3rd and it was like the week of Christmas, not a lot of Social Distancing!! Masks n temp checks

They vary, they can be set by the account holder o Thai Bank accounts.
In very general terms they can be limited to 30k baht. some 20k per transaction, the daily limit if the card is from the home country will be set by the card issuer (usually).
You are right, I can set the amount to limit on transfers and daily transaction n such. I can use my USA Debit Card like a credit card except when I try to use it at a US car rental a few years ago when I went back to the USA and had a car reserved via my card, but when they ran the card they scanned it as a ATM $1,000 n not a Debit card $5,000. I told the rental it's a Debit card, Rental no ATM, no it says right on the card Debit (Bank also said $5k). I think it was because I wasn't taking their insurance $$$$$$.

I had been hoping it was going to drop a bit more than that, but it seems to confirm a downward trend over the last ten days or so.
It would be very handy for numbers to drop away after the Songkran period has passed.
The cases are low only because they only test people who go to the hospital, they aren't doing real testing, because it's not free like some other countries. There are probably a lot of people that are asymptomatic a person is a carrier for a disease or infection but experiences no symptoms. Lucky to be in a warm climate where it can't survive as long like my state of Michigan in the USA they are 3rd in the death rate 1,276

51 is very impressive, keep bring it down. Anyway, I am satisfied with today’s number.
stay safe, everyone. These 51 are most likely people who just feel sick and then they issue the test...... In the USA they have done over 1.5 million via drive-up people want to know and then they have 338k cases 9.6k deaths. Thailand isn't testing unless you pay or you go in sick to a hospital.

Stock up now, a human can live on 1200 calories a day. canned meat (mackerel is mt fav) plus a cup of rice or noddles. Water of course. at least 1 liter per day.
Veggies or fruits only last 3-4 days, so you may not be getting many vitamins and roughage. Oatmeal, Muesli can help
Seriously - this will be almost impossible to carry out and enforce IMO
Fear tactics from those who are in charge is nothing new.
Hang in there, Thailand doing better than many other countries
I bought our Big C out of Kellogs Corn Flakes when it was on sale so I have 4 boxes left but I would have to use water instead of milk ????????????????????lol

..and they are waiting for?
If people stay home like asked, the numbers should peak and then drop off in the next couple weeks. Telling the people they will be shut in for months and months will make them panic, start hording and some may even commit suicide or........!

Shame this option didn't enter their minds a couple of months back, when it was absolutely containable, especially if they had shut down flights from China and subsequently other infected countries quicker.
The people will suffer from the continued incompetency and lack of willing to make unpopular decisions at the appropriate time.
Thought they could dodge a bullet to keep tourism flowing and instead, trod on a land mine.
You are forgetting that China LIED about it!!!!!! The USA cases keep rising now because they are doing 100,000+ tests a day, when the start they had no test kits. China lied to everyone, Trump reacted within 10 days to shut down China Travel and the Dem's thought that was mean, racists etc but it save us from having a million or so dead.

There are many countries who don't test (only the ones who went to a hospital with symptoms). That's why numbers in Italy, Netherlands etc. should be much higher.
Germany is the biggest testing country. They test 160.000 people in a week. That's more then double the people then S. Korea test in a week.
And what S. Korea did was already impressive.
Glad to see there is at least one smart person n probably been listing to the news. Even the USA count is going up in the last few days because now they have drive-up stations in the most heavily hit areas. There weren't that many kits in the USA and then most of them were faulty. So now with the new kits, they are still only asking the people that have a fever, etc etc to get tested because of the shortage of kits n the length of time to get results..... They are getting new tests, drive-up service n faster results so now the results will change a great deal but not 100% of the people still will not get tested, because have probably recovered. Time will tell. They just closed my home state of Michigan down this week also. My wife has to call my BKK Dr. to see about my appointment next week since BKK is closed, at least it's just to get a refill at the Army Hospital.

What about those old diesel black smoke belching Bangkok buses like the one in the picture above will they be replaced with electric ones?
You would be surprised that those diesel do less than a normal car, otherwise they wouldn't be on the roads across the world!!!!!! One thing here in Thailand is the Freaking garbage dumps, their smoke stack are maybe 5 stories high and the wind just blows it down or across any apartment building near by. The stack should be higher n they could as scrubbers like they have else where in the USA.

Thai driving licences: Those with certain diseases to be barred - Big Bike confirmed as 400cc up
in Thailand News

I've seen someone that shouldn't be driving look like 10 yr, people with kids in one arm, cig in the other hand. The bigger bikes should normally drive the road (xpressway). They have to get at least all motorized bikes OFF THE SIDEWALK! they have pipes in the sidewalk in front of the Government building by us, in a few temples, but had the Pharmacy take theirs out. Sidewalks are what they mean to walk NOT RIDE along side of the road. Follow Motorizied rules, the asphalt is your road to your destination! People walk on sidewalks....
