  1. Govern undemocratically they did---NOT a crazy statement. Forget the military element. Topic is PTP. and what they did.

You want to be in denial OK, but stay on topic. Elected government in the case of PTP proved that it does not guarantee good governing. They proved that. ADMIT IT without the army BS.

They won a very convincing victory at the polls on the back of many election promises. These included bringing back Thaksin Shinawatra, which was regularly mentioned on the election trail. Also, the rice scheme, tablets, car scheme, minimum wage, infrastructure spending...were all clearly laid out for the voters to see. Afer elected they carried through with or were in the process of carrying through with these. How is that "governing undemocratically"?

"The Puea Thai Party, aligned with exiled ex-Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his red-shirt supporters, vowed Monday to bring Thaksin home to re-start his work for the nation, reports Thai News Agency (TNA)."

Election promises ??? Rice scheme---disaster-----tablets disaster-----car scheme financial disaster--- infrastructure spending ?? where did that disappear to ?? these were clearly laid out YES, but were all mega blunders. The amnesty---con and a farce--see sense why post such rubbish.

It wasn't that they didn't map out the pledges, agree with that, but what unfolded was a different kettle of fish.

That's how you & your yellow & green friends spin it in order to justify yet another coup for the rich, but the economic justification of these schemes, as with the US Farm bill & EU CAP schemes, is for economists to debate.

  3. Red shirt supporters make me laugh with their whinning cry baby this ain't democratic BS about the current administrators of this land. And the reason is there beloved darling of Isarn, drunk out his mind Pol Cap Chalerm, grovelling Tarit, maniac Nattawood etc.... would still be in power if it wasn't for this breathtakingly offensive bill and it was all you're own doing. AGAIN this current situation which you guys are foaming at the mouth about WAS ALL YOUR OWN DOING. Stop supporting thieving scum like Thaksin and find someone who does sincerely have the interests of Isarn people at heart and throw your lot in with him/her/them Jeez it really is that simple. .

An amnesty for Thaksin is the best way out of the whole mess. There is no doubt in my mind, and 10's of millions of Thai minds, that Thaksin was very unfairly treated. The Ratchada case was a politically trumped up joke & all those who have looked into the facts of the case & the court proceedings know this. The coup has just reinforced the ill-treatment in the minds of his supporters & as soon as martial law is lifted they will begin to express themselves.

  4. why bother with a constitution if it can be ripped up by the military without consequences.

Why bother with the "Rule of Law" (democratic principle) when it can be ripped up by the thaksin regime.

Luckily this one did have consequences. THE PEOPLE of Thailand were against it.

And how can we know if THE PEOPLE of Thailand are against the coup? Those attempting to protest were dragged off to the paddy wagon.

  5. Yingluck would win, so yes, Thailand would be run better if its PM was elected directly by the people.

Not now mate not ever, not now all is revealed-your in cloud something land if you HONESTLY think she would win. This has to be todays joke. Chalerm would be a better bet, but then again that would be another joke.

What evidence do you have to say she wouldn't? & who would beat her? Your hero Prayuth! That's the joke of the day!

  6. If there is an election, Taksin's people will win again and new era of corruption will start. Taksin couldn't buy votes from wealthier and educated Thais in bangkok, but these people are minority. People in the other regions are poorer and less educated, unforetunately, these people are the majority. So Taksin can always buy majority of votes in Thailand if election process remains the same as before.

The vote buying is just another of the establishment's fallacies

  7. HE gets it YOU don't....................if security is strengthened all the better for local and Tourist. 5 mins ago your clan were shouting for more---now he want's for the betterment you cry it down.........so much for your agenda.

Are you for real? As it is against the law for me to list what should and hasn't been done, could you just list 6 things that have been achieved so I can enlighten myself and fall back into the fold??

Quote "it's against the law for you to list what should and hasn't been done" That is the end of the conversation---this post is a lie and ridiculous.

So you can't list 6 positive things that have been achieved.

As for it is against the law, well just read the TVF warnings about what can and can not be posted, that's enough for me and I guess counts as number 1.....

Go ahead, don't be shy give us 6 positives, you may sway myself and others to your point of view that democracy doesn't work or is wrong, oops that's number 2....

He must be getting close to cleaning up 6 beaches.

  8. After the Koh Tao debacle , the refusal to prosecute Yingluck for corruption/malfeasance (reason given for coup) and today's announcement that none of the NCPO need disclose their assets, is it possible to believe anything coming from their propaganda machine?

It's the National Reform Council that don't need to declare their assets. They don't have any influence over any government financial decisions, so why should they need to declare them?

    What have they to hide?

Surely, when the whole coup claims it justification based on anti-curruption, there can never be too much transparency.

As explained by many but probably not enough for the red shirts. It is only needed if you can influence decission making and coin it. In this case they can't exploit their position. Or if you don't agree tell me how they can make money from their position.

Asking for this is like asking to flood proof the Sahara desert (yea i know some other deserts get loads of rain and have floods) it has no use. But the red rabble always needs something to divert attention away from the real subject.

They can propose 'reforms' on any area they like, including areas that will benefit their private business interests.

  9. Good point, the initial asset declaration should include a credible explanation for the wealth, follow-on declarations (asset declaration should be an annual requirement) would have to explain unusual increases.

A "credible explanation for the wealth" might work for someone who has been in a government / police job all their life, but it's not going to work for someone who has been in business all their life. And how do you account for family inheritance or gifts? Does the whole family need to provide asset declarations?

It would be good if people in these positions were able to explain their wealth, but it's not very realistic.

It's not hard at all. Just check their bank records. If there is a deposit of over a certain amount, check where it came from and ask for an explanation.

  10. Strange - over a hundred complaints/cases have been referred to the NAAC over many years. Some cases have languished without any action for years.

How come this august impartial body suddenly decides to pursue this one particular case with exemplary haste - nay, with intense fervour, even to the extent of overriding the views of the Office of the Attorney-General?

Because those in power know that she would destroy them in the next election.

  11. Ginjag you are naive if you think post counts shows a lack of understanding of the ongoing political situation.

you once had only 6 posts your self now stop acting like your some kind of authority on the subject, you of all people have seen zero democracy in 30 years and several coups on nothing's changed.

The Junta and the PM are NOT as popular as you might think, it reeks of desperation and an excuse to keep the uneducated ill informed in check my maintaining martial law.

He can crack on as far as I'm concerned but when the tourist numbers keep dropping stop looking elsewhere for excuses and he should have been well aware he wouldn't be as popular as his spin doctors make him out be

But hey his Junat got you free dental work so what a massive boost to all the unemployed Thais who just want a job that pays the minimum wage. But your free dental treatment make the coup all worthwhile eh??

If you think the PM is not popular, then give us details.

I recall in my very early days I would never have give it a thought to attack say Thaksin with the venom that some new recruits do on here. In those days there was NEVER a movement trying to drum up silly pre propaganda on entering TVF.

Tourism drop in numbers are according to you due to the PM. You have conveniently overlooked the scams that PTP have happy to tolerate---police that have always had a say in goings on in tourist areas.

The dental touch today hit a nerve with some---hilarious. Your comment about it sums up your attitude re the INTERVENTION.

I think you view is from a farang view. Can tell not many thai are happy

    Udon -news at nine.

Issan people have changed their attitude or are in the process of . Here in Udon Thani a yesterday stronghold is now longer as was. persons are now on the positive way of thinking -not the bogged down PTP thinking.

It is going to take a long time but inroads are being made. If for some reason people can think it can be done overnight are living in cuckoo land.

That is your hope, not the Udon news

  12. I'm very proud to support the red shirts, an oppressed people struggling for self-determination, freedom, and dignity. Are you proud?

Sadly that description of the RS's isn't accurate.

Well, I fully support your right to your political opinion.

It is far more than a political opinion. It is a sociological opinion as well.

You claim to be proud. You are proud of Arisaman, Jatuporn, Seh Daeng, Thida, Weng???? Really?

They are far more worthy of pride than a man responsible for the death of near 100 civilians & the overthrow of a democratically elected government with guns & tanks.
