  1. My history is similar to yours but a longer duration. I entered June 2015 on a 30 day visa exemption , I extended this by thirty days , I then got a double entry tourist visa from Savannakhet and extended both of these by thirty days , next I went to Singapore for a few days holiday and re-entered on a visa exemption , I was not asked for an outbound ticket , I extended this also by thirty days. I then went to Penang for an SETV which was also extended by thirty days and I am currently on my second SETV from Penang.

Could I ask which airline allowed you to X Singapore without a visa and without onward flight. Yes this happens often, just curious which carrier.

On side note the OP has not clarified his situation/intention

    It was Jetstar Asia

  3. I was in Penang last week for a Tourist Visa all the advice above is correct. Jim from Jim,s Place on Chulia Street did the business for me , he charges 40 ringgit for the service. I arrived Wednesday afternoon and went to his shop gave him my passport , two photos and 190 ringgit and signed the visa application form , in and out in five minutes. I collected my passport and visa from him on Friday afternoon. I enjoyed the trip and George Town a lot better than my first visa run when I went to Savannakhet last year.

  4. I have a friend in a similar situation. He is English , she is from the Philippines and not yet 55. In a few months time he will make his application for a retirement visa what are the current options available for his wife,s visa. Thanks for any info.

The age for retirement extensions is 50 or over not 55

If he gets an extension of stay (not a visa) she can get an extension as his dependent. Nothing has changed since this topic was started.

Hi Joe thanks for the reply, and update

    Cheers.

  5. I was there last Friday to activate my second tourist visa. No Myanmar visa required. Stamp out of Thailand and about 10m past the immigration cubicle is a cafe, go inside and to the window at the end (see picture) and tell the guy you want to stamp in an out , he will run you up to the Myanmar border for 200 baht , it is a few kilometres up the dirt road, at immigration you hand over your passport with 500 baht, the officer stamps you in an out , then back in the van down to the Thai border , you go to the immigration cubicle opposite the one you used earlier (other side of the road), fill in an arrival card which you will find on the desk/shelf next to the immigration hut. Then go to the immigration officer to stamp back in. It took me 45 minutes in total.

  6. The trip to the consulate this rnorning was easy as other members have already advised. I was there at 8 40 , six people in front of me , the doors opened at 9 , once inside there is a long wood table the queue for the visa window is right of the table , the visa application forms are in a basket at the window , i collected one and joined the queue while filling in the form , at the window I handed over the form , two photos , passport , photocopy of the passport details page and 2000 baht , I was given a number and will go to collect the visa tomorrow afternoon. I was probably there 15 to 20 minutes , the queue was about thirty people as i left. Udon Joe got a mention while we were waiting in line for the good advice he posts on Thai Visa , thanks Joe and all the others who contribute the information which helps so much.

As for the boring bit , I had a few beers at the guest house last night and went to sleep , so I was boring. This afternoon I,m meeting up with another visa runner and going out for a scout around.
