I'm coming up to the end of my 90 days. Looking at a quick out and back before I am out for a longer period.
Will I get hassle at airports for returning after 1 night from PP for example, or is it better to do a land crossing, same day?
Thanks

METV still valid, but I need to go back to UK anyway mid Jan, so extension not relevant.
SETV it is then.
Thanks for the note on the embassy appointments, will keep an eye out

I'm a UK citizen, with 2 1-year Business visas and the most recent a 6-month METV in my passport and all used heavily with 3-4 week trips between entries.
Am now doing the decent thing ???? and getting married and will go for a multiple entry non-o visa based upon marriage in Savannakhet.
My METV runs out mid Jan 2019 and just discovered the next appointment available for affirmation from the embassy is early Feb 2019!!
No problem leaving for 3-4 weeks, but am looking for a recommendation as to what visa to get to come back in Feb, just to get married before I hop over to Savannakhet.
SETV? Should I expect any problems given all my previous entries?
Many Thanks

She has a UK passport and we may get her a tourist visa rather than a visa on arrival

Does anyone have experience of unaccompanied kids entering Thailand?
My 15 year old daughter is coming to visit me. She has travelled a lot and sometimes on her own.
Am just trying to understand what she may face at immigration.
Thanks

Am sitting on Sairee beach...bib were visiting restaurants last night and hanging round the spot....even saw one pick up a coconut and gave a good investigation!
There is no increase in general security apart from 6 bib videoing everyone arriving on the ferry at Chomporn....this horse has surely bolted

Thanks will try that

Just went into the London embassy this morning and was refused a retirement visa.
My bank statements show income from a number of sources and for different amounts. I explained that I was a semi-retired consultant on some retainers and some commissions so the amounts varied from month to month. After checking with boss, she came back and told me that as I was still "working" I would not be able to have a retirement visa. I either need to show the THB800,000 in a bank (UK or Thai) or show my PENSION income. I am 51 and explained that it would be illegal in the UK for me to be collecting any kind of UK pension (55 is the earliest).
Anyway, she happily recommended a triple entry 60 day tourist visa, which I accepted, as I travel regularly.
I will probably try applying in Bangkok where I expect the "rules" to be a little different.

You don't have a degree, which means you are not a teacher. How in the world do you realistically expect to be a good teacher in Thailand. Certified quality teachers spend thousand of hours preparing themselves to be a teacher. Being a good teacher in extremely difficult at best even for a truly qualified person. People like you are the reason Thailand is way behind in teaching the Thai children English. The Thai government needs to seek out and recruit truly qualified natural English teachers from the US, England, Canada, Austrailia, etc. The should provide incentives like a decent salary, housing, motorbike to entice quality people to come. The USA has is doing this currently with Chinese and Spanish speakers from China and Mexico. I am really tired of people who think teaching kids is easy or that they can do it without any kind of training. Bottom line: Thailand needs real teachers to teach English to their kids and Thai teachers!
Bigotted, self-centred and aggressive. Hmmmm... all the qualities anyone would want in a teacher.
Having a degree and studying a lot does not make anyone a GOOD teacher.
I am glad my kids aren't taught by you!
You have a point, but....

Not a big problem:
Most countries have some kind of registration system for pre-paid (photocopy of ID or password).
App won't be possible as there are too many phones that don't work like that.
50% of the registrations submitted by 7-11 gals will have the wrong ID photocopy attached to the sim
The real "terrorists" will simply have someone else register their phone for them....I can even see some of the 7-11 staff offering to do that for 100bhat! Much easier paperwork for them haha

"International Alarm" is crazy....
Appreciate what you have, especially with curfew starting to lift.
If we were in any Middle East Country, the thought police would have rounded up and jailed/deported most of the commentators on TV already! And that's just in places where there has been no coup....
Having decided to do something, the General has gone about it in a logical, measured and non-blood thirsty way. Good on him and long may it continue...
I mean TVF.....no the telly

Judging from the comments from all sides, I guess now is a good time to open my new Yingluck girly bar, where all the girls are made up to look like her in different outfits. Like her or loathe her, everyone wants to <deleted> her one way or another.

This extraordinary period in Thai history continues to set a new pace, as developments unfold quickly. Trying to sift through the news is the main challenge, and trying to verify such reporting in other publications is an added challenge. What we do know is that the Senate is functioning, and that is a key indicator and a very promising one at that. The courts similarly. It will likely take a number of days before things become clearer. The first aspect of the administration of this coup is clearly to secure control. Once that has been established, some path will likely emerge. But it is remarkable the change that has already taken place. There has been no violence or resistance. The PDRC remains jubilant.
Well we don't know if there has been no violence or resistance because there is no news.
That's the main reason why the TV is off!

It's typical of PI. Usually it's an airport scam by officials. Happens all the time to girls going to DXB.
If your girlfriend is really coming for a vacation, suggest you write a letter saying you will be looking after her and show hotel bookings etc.
Otherwise, as suggested above, re-route through another country. BKK used to be the routing for DXB!
