Just take her to your local restaurant and order 10 different dishes, let them go lukewarm, and there you go.

My wife has her birthday coming up and she LOVES buffets. We are in Sisaket and I wanted to take her somewhere for a nice buffet, possibly in a hotel. I know there are a few in Nakhon Ratchasima but that's a long drive. Ubon is less than 2 hours away and she has some friends that way so figured I'd look there.
I've googled without much success, mostly finding breakfast buffets at hotels and than the typical "shabu" places.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! -

His claims are totally believable. Except the part that the racket started only last year. This has been going on for decades. And not only are the quoted numbers ikely on the low side, this happens all over the country. It is likely way, way into the billions of baht.
My last time in Thailand 2013 ish, had a friend who owned a business. Had to pay the local police 10k baht a month "protection" money. Then his business got more popular and police from another (precinct) came by and demanded money also. Think he was paying close to 20k baht a month... To the RTP, just to stay in business. And I believe operate out of normal times also.
Point is, that's one case from 10 years ago. And I clearly remember learning about "brown envelopes" and "tea money" back then.
Also I just got my visa extension... Not just the RTP when it comes to the envelopes.- 1

Did something that is not "translatable" for living abroad. No digital nomad stuff here.

There is no requirement to apply for the extension 30 days early. It can be done up to the day it expires.
You have plenty of time to apply for your extension.
In my opinion the best thing to do to avoid problems is to use a translation service to do the translation and the certification of it at the Department of Consular Affairs' of the MFA..
We are using a translation service. In BKK. They just dropped the ball. The MFA is who told us their translation was wrong (multiple parts of it).
Thank you for that, I had no clue. I thought it was 30 days min. Sigh of relief.
Thank you so much for your help. Greatly appreciated.-Lou

Hello all,
I came to Thailand Oct 6th. I'm in Sisaket. I have a non-o that I will get the marriage extension for. Wife and I were married outside Thailand. I took all of the steps necessary to have the marriage cert, certified and sealed back in the US.
In Thailand, we have to have the documents translated into Thai and then sent to MFA. The translation service "completed translation" and sent back to us. We then sent to MFA in Bangkok. Which they then sent back to us, stating that there were many translation errors (they circled and pointed them out). Out of the 6 pages 4 had multiple errors. (500 Baht p/p btw).
Contacted the translation company, and they're being, well, douchey about it but are "fixing it".So question/s:
My non-o expires Jan 3rd 2022. I have to apply for the extension a minimum of 30 days prior to visa expiration (as I understand). At this point, I'm 99% sure that I will not have the translated docs in time to register them (Kor ror), and make it to immigration with all the required docs.
So, is my only option in that case, to get a 60 day extension on my visa? Is that even a viable option? Something else? Thanks for any help,
Lou

Hello all,
So I plan on heading back to Thailand with my wife in the next few years (3) and my wife and I are looking into opening a business when we get back. Well not just "looking", actively planning. My question is: How does that work and with which kind of visa? We were planning on going the marriage visa route, but as far as I can tell, that doesn't permit you to work in Thailand, let alone own a business. So would I (we) go the business visa route and scrap the marriage visa, or my wife opens the business and I apply for a work permit? Or???
It's a while away, but this just popped into my head and I'm confused. Just curious if any of you are or were in a similar situation and how you went about it!Thanks!

I think it will infuriate more then the supporters of Yingluck and Thaksin. There are plenty of "normal" everyday citizens in Thailand that want to vote for their leader. AKA a democracy.

The reds already had their rally planned for the 10th and the yellows/PDRC for the 14th, why on earth has this Lunatic and madman Suthep now brought his forward to clash with the red one. It appears the evil little fool is just busting for extreme violence and is prepared to sacrifice lives of his people for his personal gain.
This numbskull must know by deliberately forcing a confrontation with red supporters it is going to full on hell. What happened to his peaceful approach. If anyone dies then Suthep alone will have to take full responsibility
It's because Suthep, from day one has wanted nothing more then violent confrontations. His "peaceful protestors" aren't peacful at all. He WANTS a confrontation with the Red Shirts so he can try and get the military involved.

Someone please explain to Suthep what the word "Final" means as he has said this about 10 times already since October. He's also said he'd kill himself on 3 separate occasions if he "didn't achieve victory" by a certain date, and unfortunately didn't stick to those promises.
Fortunately though he's losing scores of supporters who now see past his BS when he refuses to accept anything besides having himself in office. He stated himself after Yingluck's departure that no appointed PM will be accepted by him, the new PM has to be chosen from a list of people he provides.
Lmao, this guy is a psychopath, no 2 ways about it.

WOW!!!
It always amazes me the amount of Farang that support the PDRC aka yellow shirts in Thailand since most if not all Farang countries are democracries. Do you ever take into consideration the simple and honest fact that Yingluck was ELECTED PM by the majority of Thai people and was run out of office by a minority of people???
Are you all in favor of over throwing democratically elected officials if you don't agree with their policies?? If you do I suggest you go home and do that with your native government instead of siding with a bunch of people who say that poor persons are too stupid to vote and anyone without a bachelors degree should have no say in who is prime minister....Or maybe that's why you've come to Thailand in the first place, you know to keep those young thai whores in the hole.
Don't worry though because the PDRC and Wealthy Thais have no need for Farangs like the poor working class does. Enjoy it while it last. Continue to watch Blue Sky television instead of any free media that shows the MAJORITY of Thais not even including red shirts that want a DEMOCRATIC country.

Yea, not even really seeing any of the "more expensive" ones having dinner buffets, they all just seem to have breakfast.
