  1. I`ve been doing visa runs every month for 2 years now and my next visa runs out next month when I`ll be 8 months pregnant. My partner is Thai and we had discussed marriage but were going to leave it until a few years later but now it looks like we`ll be going to Bangkok next week to get married. Is there any way around this though because I don`t feel ready to get married yet but it looks like there really is no choice.. or do they make exceptions for pregnant farang women who can't fly?
I was told you could extend your visa at Suanplu when you are over 26 weeks pregnant. They are not able to put an overstayed woman who is pregnant in jail, because there is no overstay penalty for the kid under certain age.
  2. Well but if they mean the time it takes to to only drive, not including stops and visa process, then 3 hours per way makes sense....

By the way, I got the feeling that behind this company there is a foreigner....too much of marketing and promotions that are not the typical cup of tea of Thais/Asian...

6 hours round way trip, it could only be possible when there was no traffic, no even traffic lights, and you are the only one on the road.

ThaiVisaRun.com had a van service in the past, and we all know they are the quickest, but the earliest time they came back was 5:30 pm, totally seven and half hours trip. They always tell you they will be back between 6:30 to 7:00 pm. I think if your new guys wish to make a living from this visarun business, honesty is very important.

  3. Yesterday, i have been with Fineday Tours, forth time, to extend Visa.Their service is good, newspapers and their staffs are impressed me and my friends.I have chosen them because they have leave from bangkok so early as well as they have a clean bus.
You need to study English, my friend. From the mistakes you made, I think you are Thai.
  4. There’s never been a best visa run company in Bangkok, the only difference is their departure time.

I have been with finedaytour.com, ‘cause they leave as early as 4:45, make sure I can come back at noon.

I have been with thaivisarun.com, they leave the latest, and you can have a good sleep before catch the bus. There are also a few other companies leaving the time between them, they are good though, up to you what time would you like to go? And what time would you like to be back?

I think the best visa run company is the one that knows thai visa business better than the others. If you always stay with only one company all the time, you will never know who is the best.
  5. I think you're too young for that move but like the bar girls said "up to you". Work hard at home for 5-10 years and save some money than make that move to Thailand. I don't think you'll follow my advice so I'm not going to waste your time or mine. Best thing to do is make that move to Thailand and realized for yourself that its not all fun and glorious as some might think.
    a very good advice though.
  6. I do not know what has caused the blacklisting of your friend.

Checked with various Immigartion officials and they all re-cfmd that this situation is not officially announced yet or implemented.

Any decision to grant entry ,extention of stay or change of visa status is solely at the discretion of the Immigration Officer .

I do not know how to help yr friend ,but you can give Phil, the guy who runs thaivisarun a call , he is expert on legal issues.

Talked to Phil already, he said most probably there was something else apart from 9 weeks overstay, so anything else that you didn't tell us Khun English Noodles?
  7. First they tried the Pratunan Park Hotel. They were rudely told that there were no vacant rooms and the staff turned their back on them.

The Byoke Sky Hotel gave the same story, but in a more polite way.

The First Hotel offered hope. My friend went in alone, asked for a room with a big bed so that the daughter could sleep inbetween them. They had, no problem at all.

Untill his wife and daughter came in. Also that room was suddenly gone!

Is this a general policy in certain categories of hotels in Bangkok (these hotels charge around 2500 Baht for a room)?

    Limbo  :o

I have a hard time imagining this scenario. There is nothing more common at hotels in Thailand than a farang man with his Thai wife/girlfriend/bar girl. There are some hotels that don't want bargirls coming in but over the years living here and traveling here, I've never seen a problem. Unless of course you're impolite, maybe that was real reason for the lack of hospitality. Thai people are the most friendly and hospitable you could ever find. If you have a Thai wife, Issan or otherwise and you both are polite (and don't look like trash), you should virtually never have a problem. Something is missing from this story.

Something is definitely missing from this story.
  8. the most important thing is for the women to have access to thai food and thai friends. once they get thai friends wherever they are they seem to settle down easier.

the most important thing is to find a nice kingsize bed for her and a wide screen TV, they spend most of their life with these 2 things.

  9. I need to make a visa run soon. The JG bus is very convenient locationwise for me, however I have nightmares about long queues compounded if they are in the hot sun. Perhaps some people have had some success moving thru quickly. I'm not willing to gamble that I won't be standing in lines for a while. Queues really massively irritate me. I'd rather travel a few extra hours round trip then stand in them. Good debate going on here though

Apparently there are some other services that go to Pongnamron border, there is no queue there, and the border is tiny.

  10. How is this, dude? As good or better than be4? I've heard countless negative accts of horror trips of late and 1 count it, 1 positive trip. the nays have it. next

Apparantly you haven't been following ... I'm not the only one reporting an early return time.

Also, you seem to be unfamiliar with the tendancy of forum posts to skew widely toward the pissed off ... And you are using your own ignorance to devine that I'm lying. Get over it.

Khun Drummer, no more unnecessary explanation, the more you do, the worse you get. That was the only positive story about JG that I ever heard recently. Remember, silence is golden.

You obviously cannot read Roobar. Refer to my post earlier in this thread.

I was with JG on Monday of this week and it was a good run. No issues for me. Take off the blinkers mate.

you are that queue fetish guy, I forgot about you. You didn't pay that 2 days overstay, the evidence still in your passport, last stamp exp on Saturday and you left Thailand on Monday, you cheated imigration man, didn't tell him, better lose your passport...........

  12. just past 7.

You better learn how to be a white collar thief, 'cause you are not a good liar. In the old days, when we did not have to queue at poipet, we came back 3:45 as the earliest, now you still come back at the same time, you either had a bad watch or a bad memory, and perhaps you are working for them.

Honest to god. I was worriedabout missing the 7:00 bus, and I got off the bus at Phetburi MRT at 3:47 PM. No waiting at the little depot thingie anymore, though, and less time at the buffet.

But thats what happened. It was still efficient, just had to actually wait in line ourselves. Immigration still had to go through all the passports and stamp them, just like now. The difference in work isn't that much higher, really just a matter of having each PP handed to the official directly by the owner.

Of course, the waiting in line isn't all that much fun.

Sounds very doggy, not convincing at all.

In the past, the guide took all the passports into the immigration plus 100 baht per head for the hurry-up fee, and then quickly done by a few officers.

This time Khun Drummer and the others queued and handed in passport one by one without tea money at all, make it in & out just as quick as the old days.

Yep Rooboy - that's right - get used to it.

I did a Jack's Golf run today - had me back at the MRT by 4:30pm. As Drummer suggested, the key change is that we do the queing ourselves but otherwise it was an uneventful day. Even my 2 day overstay got overlooked!

IMHO Jack's Golf are doing the best they can in changing surrounds. I'll use them in 90 days.

Monday is supposed to be quietest day for the visa run, and that is why even JG only has 7:00 am trip. You came back almost an hour later than Khun Drummer, who was on the trip in the mid-week. Don’t you think it is a bit weird?
