  1. Does anyone know what sort of deal I should be able to negotiate for a new Vios? I was thinking of getting the one up from the bog standard.

I'd be interested to find out what deals others have managed to negotiate so I have some sort of benchmark. Aim to put on finance with 10-20% down.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Having read a few articles on here it seems the general consenus is to buy a new car rather than a nearly new one (the reverse is recommended in England). Is insurance often included on new car deals and if not are premiums expensive in general compared to England does anyone know.

A finance deal would be good but looks like this could be tricky being a farang.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  3. Does anyone know where to get disposable one day contact lenses cheaply in Bangkok?

I paid 400 baht per box in MBK. Do you know of any cheaper places than that?

oops forgot to mention that they were 'focus dailies'

Does anybody know where to get the cheap? I'd be interested too as not sure if cheaper than UK

  4. Having read quite a few threads on these it appears a large number of people get turned down on this reason. I was just wondering what the British Embassy classifies as valid reasons to return.

I know the following 2 having read threads but wondered if there were any others:

    Job

    Property Owner

Just interested as neither of the above would apply to my TG. Seems to me that the Embassy are making it difficult for visit visa's making people perhaps rush into marriage in order to get their girlfriend/boyfriend over to England, which is surely the wrong route!

I guess the other expensive option is buy her some property!!!

  5. Hi,

First of all I'd like to say that I have read quite a few threads about obtaining a UK visa on this forum. However, notwithstanding that it appears that not every case is the same, hence my new post.

I like everyone else have met a lovely TG and would like her to come to England. Being just 19 she needs to get her mum & dad to ok for passport which they are cool with. However, I'm a bit unsure about the visa issue. She seems to think if we marry in Thailand it will be easier for her to come to England and she can get permanent visa for England (without me having to marry her in England). I don't mind marrying in Thailand but don't want to marry in England at this early stage. Indeed I am still married myself but won't be in April when she proposes we marry in Thailand. I also noticed that for an "unmarried visa" you have to prove you have been together 2 years and we have only known each other since May of this year.

Is what she says true about this marriage visa and is it easier to obtain than a 6 months visitors visa? We'd prefer a longer visa if possible. Secondly, I see that they are intending to reduce the backlog. If we did go for the marriage visa I assume you cannot apply in advance of the marriage!!!

Thirdly, I was giving her cash for condo and so she doesn't need to work which she has paid into her account. However, would it be better for me to transfer some cash from my account to hers so that the embassy can see the full transparency of the transaction?

I have house and good job so that's no problem from my point of view. Is her being a bar girl on application a problem? Her English is very good. Somebody did say to me that it's not advisable to put BG on application as they assume she's coming to England to work as a BG !!!

I'd greatly appreciate your help on this matter and if you can think of anything else I haven't considered.

    Thanks
