  1. hello.

i am from germany and stay in thailand on a tourist visas, i used to renew them in cambodia before..

now i stay in pai and thought about going to laos for the next renewal, but i found that the busses are quite expensive from here (2000 baht for a one way trip to vientiane), does anybody know a cheap and good connection for that purpose? is it possible to get a thai visa also in myanmar?

    thanks a lot

  2. hello,

i got a 60 days tourist visa which i have to extend soon in chiang mei....

my question is how early is it recomended to go to the immigration next monday because i heard that it's often overcrowded there and they use to refuse clients on a certain number...

how many passport fotos do i have to bring at what size and where exactly is the immigration office located...

thanks a lot for your reply

  3. There is no visa called a student visa. There is a non-ed visa based upon attending a school.

You would need to enroll in a university or some other school registered with the Ministry of Education.

Non-ed visas are issued as single or multiple entries. You get a 90 day entry for each entry. A single is 1000 baht and multiple is 5000 baht.

Most people get a single entry visa and then get an extension of stay based upon attending school. For a university it would be a one year extension for a attending a non formal school it would be 90 day extensions up to a total up to 1 year per visa entry. Each extension costs 1900 baht. After getting an extension you would need a re-entry permit if you wanted to leave the country. A single is 1000 baht and a multiple 3800 baht.

..ok, and which documents do i need to enroll in a university? do they charge something for that and is it also controlled, if i attend any courses?

  4. You need at least 6 months validity to apply for a visa. If you applied on the 2nd of March your passport would need to be valid until the 2nd of September.

You could apply for the visa on the 26th of this month and be able to get your visa since that would be the last day of this month you could do it.

..so why ca"t i apply on friday the 27th? then the 6 month are still in the frame...

  7. hello there,

..does anybody have experience when one lost his passport, ok, one have to get a new one from one"s embacy and then go with it and the police certificate about the loss to the immigration...

..they have to put a new "exit" stamp in the new passport, but what"s about this date of this stamp, do they have any registrations about one"s tourist visa that one got abroad?
