I don't suppose you remember the thread? Was it here on thaivisa?

Any idea how much that would be?

I don't know the answer.

Well I have a work permit for my current school but also work at a language school part time. That is known only to me.
So I guess what I'm asking is can I do the reverse? Get official for two years with the language school and keep the international school on the QT.

Just wondering what the process is like.
Obviously I have no intention of actually doing it, but just wondering if it's possible to get the registration letter etc. without paying the tuition fees.

Do any of you know would it be possible for me to get a work permit sorted with a language school and then work for the actual school as usual during the day?
It seems like a pretty simple solution. Am I missing something?

The school are suggesting that I can register to do a M.Ed. at a Bangkok university, and that the letter of registration would be enough to get me another two years.
The application itself would be around 1000 baht, but would I be registered and have the registration letter without having to pay any of the fees, or would they withhold that until they received a substantial downpayment on the tuition fee?
Or are the universities used to this corruption and play along for the thousand baht? I don't know.
It seems like an awful lot of trouble.

Looks like I'll have to email my new school and see if they have any leverage in this matter.
Thanks all for advice.

Is it possible that the school might find another title for me (eg 'curriculum advisor'), thereby circumventing the need for a waiver?

I've done research into doing these tests and the lack of information should be a source of shame and embarrassment to the ministry of education. It seems like my only option is to cobble together conflicting information from teaching forums.
Honestly, the lack of transparency and the administrative caprice makes me not want to live here any more.

According to a post I found here from 2012 they do:

As the title says, I've worked in two schools since moving here. Records show I've had two waivers.
I have a BA in the subject I teach, and also a CELTA. However, I have no other education qualifications.
I have signed a contract to start in an international school this August, but have been reading about a crackdown on third waivers. Assuming I am refused - which I am resigned to - what will I have to do? Is it possible I'll have to relocate to another country, or do I have options?
Any advice would be most appreciated.

Does experience in international schools make other international schools more open to hiring you?

I am currently teaching my degree subject in a Bangkok international school.
Will a few years of this mean I can then start looking for jobs in other (read: better) international schools, or should I concentrate on qualifying as a teacher at home?
