I see Thailand has moved up to 34th around the world for covid infections - totally due to the ineptitude of the current government! Is this another 'first' they want and to beat all others?
Every day they are moving up the table. I really hope common sense and some sensible leadership will enable these figures to stabalise.

Human life and human rights figure very little in the Chinese Government! They have their agenda and don't care what, or who, they damage to achieve it.

Such misleading headlines!!! I really don't know what they are trying to promote - certainly very little actual facts or truth.
-
They have never worried about protectinism before so why should they start now? Look at Beer Laos as a prime example. But that is only due to Thai politicians in the pockets of drinks manufactures! Beer Laos, actually far superior to all Thai beers. If allowed in, Singha, Leo etc would be decimated. Don't you call this protectionism despite ASEAN?

I can think of quite a lot of likely candidates to send and whose lack of presence in Thailand would benefit everyone.

Is it really only 160 km from Thailand to China - would dispute that!!

So they should. Minimal teaching, parents doing the work and schools still taking maximum profits. Schools are not concerned about parents situations and how covid affects their businesses or work. VERY GREEDY. My school, IN LAOS, last year 50% reduction, this coming year - also 50%. In Laos, we respect our familys and try to help, in Thailand get whatever you can. PROFIT, NOT CARE.

I can't understand why Thailand has this ridiculous attitude towards alcohol. I am sure it makes no difference whether serving alcohol or not!! A government of maiden aunts wanting to restrict everything for the sake of restriction. Let adults make their own decisions, dad!!!

I would always normally drink bottles rather than cans. Bottles generally have shorter shelf life as a lot less chemicals. Cans have a lot more chemicals to preserve for a long time. Similar amount of beer in bottles and cans - bottles, feel fine, cans easily get hangover.

I really dont think it is the foreigners they should worry about!!

As long as they are willing to jump through numerous hoops and willing to put up with irregular and rude immigration rules as well as regular reporting! Also changing rules and regulations whenever the government feels it needs an imput of cash!! If you can live with all that rubbish, good luck to you. But it would be advisable to check out other countries first for ease of living.

This is what happens to the police in Lao who misbehave - dismissal with loss of pension. There are no inactive posts, just good-bye!
It's a pity Thailand doesnt do the same!

The trouble is that we have heard it all before and keep hearing it, only for it to be 'just talk'. They would be better keeping quiet until definite plans are on the board. No point gettingbeveryones hopes up for nothing. I don't know whybthey don't think about opening some ofvthe local borders first rather than just the tourist spots. Lao is settling down well after the second wave caused by ollegals from Thailand and many in Laos have no been vaccinated so local borders opened would be a great trial to see how things work out before going onto the touristcspots.
-
Luckily I am in Laos. Foreigners are being treated the same as locals with regards to vaccinations. It is only logical as foreigners are just as likely to pass covid on as locals - actually more so as more likely to move about!! Thailand, as usual, not at all farsighted - blinkered, as usual.

And the government continues to purchase weapons and items for the Army, Navy & Airforce, and sure to carry on getting all of their perks despite the rest of the country becoming more poverty stricken by the day.

It is very unlikely the money will go into a road safety fund. I am sure it will be squandered elsewhere!!

Considering the lates influx of infections I would say everyone was sensible not to come.

If the main cases are from.migrant workers, why are Thailand still using them?? Get their own people to do the work - but I suppose the work migrants do is beneath the Thai workers. Expect others to do but don't do themselves!!

I have really given up on relying on WHO to be up front with much.

Thailand want to move on from being a 3rd world country. With these sort of restrictions they will never leave the 'third world' status.

How can people afford to go away when incomes for many are non existent due to the tourist restrictions. One day tyey will have to ooen up and whilst many other countries will have gained 'herd immunity' Thailand will still be coping so insularly that infection will spread through aTyailand whilst other countries move about safely. Its all well and good to put such restrictions on but I am sure itvwill come back and bite them on the b**.

Still always targeting the wealthy who don't need targeting. Sure these can get in whenever they want! The gov needs to get the normal people in, the bread and butter people, who still spend lots. And also support the smaller businesses. The rich, wealthy businesses will survive, whatever, but the smaller businesses won't.
