I lived in CM for a year (i am Indonesian with a British hubby) 1 year ago. Nice place, but it's just didn't work out well for us. There is Indonesian Community too in CM, about 10 to 15 Indonesian. Good luck with the moving!

We (husband n I) used ASTRO MOVERS when we were moving from SG to CM on 2014.

I don't drive nor ride when we were there. So....i took tuk tuk sometimes songtaw everytime i went somewhere on my own. We bought water from the water dispenser (not sure if that what they call it) from the road side n using the water to cook n drinking water (you gotta boil it). Good luck there x x

Thailand is a nice place, Thai people are very nice n kind generally. However it is not for me. I am Indonesian who used to live in Singapore for many years before n after i got married to my British husband. I am now looking forward to go back to Singapore which is for me is still the best place to live in after my own country.

If only everyone using less plastics that would deff help so much as i saw most of the was is plastics. Everytime i go to buy something that needed plastic bags i always bring my own bags, everywhere! I take my own tupperware so that i don't need plastic to buy cooked food even when i buy from restaurant, after i finish my food i can wash it n using it again next time.

I don't understand why there are so many westeners retiring in Asia? Well...i understand for those who have a wife in Asia ( Asian wife) or family. But for those who don't have, why? Don't u think it is better to live in ur own country when u are old. All family n friends are there. How about if u are die while u are retiring in Asia n the fact u are alone? Pardon me..i am not trying to judge, just dont get the reason why...

U r not the only one who think that i am Thai...wherever i go in Thailand people always think that am Thai, when i told them am not Thai n they thought i am Filippina just like how when i was in Singapore. I am Indonesian lahhhhh!!

I stopped working since am with him ( he asked me to quit my job and i continue my study). So....never get chance to share 50-50 of my salary with him. However, i have an investment back in Indonesia n all the profit goes to my bank in Indonesia. So..when we are back in Indonesia we use my money, when we are in UK we use his money, when we are in Singapore we use our money ( we used to work in SG). I don't drink alcohol n bars, clubs are not my scene so sometimes we go to a nice restaurant for a lovely food n i pay for it n sometimes we go on dutch.

As The Art of War says, never fight a battle on your home ground. Take her away, BKK, Pattaya or even to your home Country for a while. You must make your wife understand you are the boss. If not she will always believe her brother. Give the parents a couple of 100k to keep them on your side but don't even tell your wife you have done this.

Don't buy a house RENT! If you want a car rent or make sure it's in your name. Explain to your wife this is a new life or she can stay with her family and you will go back to your home Country.

Didn't your wife register your marriage in Thailand? What i meant is, like in Indonesia we have to register out marriage at MHA. We got married in S'pore then reported our marriage at Indonesian Embassy in S'pore and then registered our marriage at MHA in Indonesia, MHA gave us marriage cert ( Indonesian's version). Only with that we can put our child name in my family booklet ( house book) and with her name in family booklet she can apply or renew her Indonesian PP in Indonesia. I think u guys might need to register ur marriage in Thai MHA first to get Thai Version of Marriage cert.
