  1. ^^ Those are more informative than the pages I found. It's a shame that they require the use of a "box". ExpatTV has a PC app and servers in Thailand which usually ensure a viewing experience free of buffering. Not sure whether the MrSky service would do the same on regular ADSL.

We wanted sky sports and sky movies but most importantly sky sports F1 as the Mrs loves the F1

The box is easy to use and lets us connect our hard drive to it and use it as a media hub, and has a uk radio built in so we can listen to LBC in the mornings.

Our 3BB is not fibre optic its 15MB regular ADSL costs us baht 998 a month.

  2. We pay baht 10K a year and that includes all of the channels, Sky sports and bt sports and the sky sports formula one channel all the sky movies and its plugged in to our 3bb router using a internet cable we dont need a upn. The 7 day catching up feature is handy so we can watch yesterdays uk tv the following day. We insisted on a three day trial over a weekend so we could see what its like when its busy. Loads of kids tv for when the grandkids come to stay.

But who do you pay? The only "mrskyt(v)" I found was based in Spain though they do have some sort of subsidiary in Thailand. Their website gives no details or prices.

Android boxes and Kodi add-ons are all very well, but the catch-up facility is by far the most important thing as far as I'm concerned. I never watch live TV.

  3. ..... send them an email.

I have an innate dislike of anyone who doesn't publish full details of who he is and what he is selling for all to see.

I emailed them, got a response with this link on the website - http://mrskytv.com/store.php

I agree with you 100% about the 7 day catch up facility, watching the previous days telly is very important to us.

  5. After trying VPN services, exbc, androids and expat tv we settled on mag 250 box via mrskyt as did most of my neighbours. Very happy with the service.

  6. Sorry if I started a heated debate here.

I have done some more research and found the following -

It looks like the British Police are taking a lot of interest in the Kodi / XBMC operators / Streamers etc.

As far as I am concerned I think I will give Android / Kodi / XBMC etc a wide birth, if however you disagree with my opinion and wish to continue with and or tell others to use Android / Kodi / XBMC etc then I respect your opinion.

My advice is "Avoid any service that uses XBMC or KODI as the days are numbered"

  7. OK, the TV box, including software for 7500.- THB is too expensive

    my question

where there is a software, incl. hundreds channels, many channels replay with 7 day free without further monthly?

7'500THB is too expensive? Compared to what?

I would avoid the XBMC & KODI as Amazon has just banned them!

Like most things in life nothing is for free.

  8. I borrowed the neighbours android iptv box (cost him 6K in Pattaya) and have been trying to set it up for basic UK TV such as BBC and ITV etc.

I spent couple of hours watching some videos about XBMC & KODI on Youtube taking notes and pausing when needed, have so far spent about six hours messing about with this box and not really got anywhere with it, much to the Mrs enjoyment as she has had charge of the remote control to our MAG 250 box in the living room for the past couple of weeks in the evenings after tea whilst I have been fiddling around in my study. I wanted to avoid the cost of buying another MAG250.

    Android Box for the study

So far; not so good. I managed to wipe the box clean as instructed and followed all the instructions to the letter, I then loaded Kodi, I then was prompted to download the updates, after this rebooted the box and was asked again to download updates. It seems that every time I turn the box on I get to the main menu and I get a message that I need to download something, this generally leaves me to make a cuppa and make a few calls although sometimes these downloads can take 30 minutes.

This week I managed to get the Filminon plugon working its a UK TV service and I can get BBC1 and ITV through this box although the adverts are annoying that keep popping up. I have tried to add on the plug ons as described on one of the Kodi set up tutorials but so far just keep getting error messages.

I must say that I am now fed up with this box, I can easily get Filmon on my PC in the study without the need of a box so unless I can get some special channels I simply cannot be bothered with it. The MAG box in the living room allows me to go back and watch what was on earlier so we can both get to see what we want although its usually me that does the catching up!

My Grandson is over in a couple of weeks, will see what he can do and report back.

  9. What a pain! mad.gif1zgarz5.gif Only thing with free streamings is you cannot complain or speak to anyone about it!

The chap we got our box off is on whatsapp and on my facebook messengering gizmo so any niggles or questions I have had have been sorted out in minutes, they even put the big fight on the other week at no extra charge so cannot moan about that. Sometimes early in the morning a message will come up on the screen saying something like "We are working on changing some channels so you may find some channels will be off over the next 2-3 hours" but they all seem to work so looks like they do any fiddling around during the early hours.

I am borrowing my next door neighbors android box at the weekend and going to see how I get on having a fiddle around as we have a spare TV set in the study / spare room I am interested in the free stuff and possibly foreign language films with English subtitles, it can be difficult getting the remote back once the Mrs has it. I shall report back how I get on & any tips or help would be welcomed, anyway must dash as Wheeler Dealers is on Discovery Turbo.wai.gif

  10. If you rely on free streams then you get what you pay for, if you pay a supplier then you get a guaranteed service and do not miss the match because 50'000 other people want to watch for free. My neighbour purchased a 6000THB android box and would regularly joke about us spending over 20K on our system.. lets just say that buy cheap means buy twice. He has been back and forth to Pataya goodness knows how many times and spends more time updating his box than watching it. He regularly gets excited about a new plugin addon thats amazing for 2/3 days then is un-watchable. I paid good money for a good service and I am very happy.

Can you tell me where you bought your mag 250 box from as it seems ideal for me

We purchased from a chap called Jason his e-mail is [email protected] nice guy spent time showing us how everything worked, he let us try the system for a few days before we made our decision.

Please mention that Barry in Hua Hin gave you his email!

In my opinion; XBMC, KODI, SMART BOX, ANDROID etc is best left to people that have a lot of technical knowledge and or patience, since my last post my neighbor has now purchased the same system as us.

Guy thats not even your video and if you want to pay for free things go right ahead. I and millions others around the world choose to not pay. I paid for my box.

Correct/// "NOT" my video, its the video demo of the chap that we purchased our box from. If you are happy downloading the plugins updating the repositories and using new url's etc then buy an android box, we decided on the mag250 as it was best for "us" and if anything goes wrong the chap is only 10 mins down the road. no such thing as a free lunch I am afraid.

  13. I have the 10mb 3BB. I generally only use YouTube and UK expat TV. Both work with hardly any buffering once it starts!

We have same 3BB service but use a mrskytv UK iptv box for live uk tv, weekdays 7pm-9pm signal drops so live tv buffers but the on demand video club is ok. We had TOT and that was useless, in Hua Hin area everyone we know uses 3BB. If you have smart phone or ipdad disconnect from your wifi as they use a lot of bandwidth even when not in use. watching sky sports hd uses three times as much bandwidth i am told.

  14. We are happy with our box reliability at peak times as sometimes between 6pm-9pm speeds can drop in our area and also weekends when half of Bangkok are down here. It has a buffer setting that we left on maximum and apart the odder stutter have been fine, we use CAT.

We insisted on a free trial of the ip box that let us check did try our neighbors xbmx box when he was back in UK and kept getting error message so just put it back as I didn't have a clue what I was doing.

We used iplayer for years without any issues but after seeing one of these ip boxes on our local facebook sales group decided to have a look, so glad that we did. If you just want something that acts just like a satellite receiver the mag box is really easy to use.

Private Message me if you want our suppliers contact info, they are spot on.
