The problem with the article isn't that tourists are charged more; it's that people living and working in Thailand and paying taxes have to pay up to 900% more. Try charging a Thai living in a Western country who is paying income tax and who has the local equivalent of Social Security 900% more to enter a park - all hell would break loose, and you'd never hear the end of how racist and discriminatory it was.
The roads around the moat and old city are in poor repair due to the underground lines project and the need to constantly dig new holes to put lines underground. The first phase finishes later this year and the rest next year - once finished, road resurfacing has been promised.
It's a return of the bus service that existed before COVID but it's isn't 20/30 baht, it's 50 baht a trip and it has been back since late last year.
