The pigeons are problematic due to their sheer numbers and the authorities do need to do something about the problem
Poor BIBs, let them do something more constructive: setting up helmet stings to confiscate 500thb from all those innocent foreigners driving without a valid license.

You could have just ignored it. It's not a coercive question sir.
Thank you for that information.

But how will the Chiang Mai BIBs make a living if they can't gangcharge all the tourists for no driver license?
It's upsetting if the government is placing safety above the BIBs getting their hand in the tourist's pocket. Shocking! -

And why not go all the way and make all Thais to have licences too including registered motorcycle and helmets.
It is a step in the right direction to many tourists have no idea how to ride a motorcycle but jump on a twist and go and go hell for leather here.
And while they're at it, why not require motorcycle rental companies to provide real helmets. Most helmets they provide are cheap, in horrible repair, and are totally inadequate for protecting the wearer.

I didn't see any mention of this in the report. Do you have some insight as to how they randomly found this guy and decided to scan his fingerprints?

Now that's a poignant question!

why do they have to make up all these huge, elaborate boards everytime they arrest someone.
It keeps the school children busy.

Ah yes what we need is more TM30's how about a weekly Tm30 which can be updated to daily..............of course seeing older people who have been on extensions for years with no problems caused is too easy to select these out of the "all falang" mentality.
I'll up that and propose an hourly check in. It's mandatory the government realize where we are, what we're doing, and with whom we're doing it.

What's the difference between a real cop and a bogus cop?
No, really. It's not a joke. I really don't know the difference.
Real cops fake being cops somewhat better than fake cops.

You have actually argued against the wall with De Blasio's statement of automation. If automation takes away low skilled jobs, then there will be less immigrants coming to take these low skilled jobs as there won't be as many jobs to fill. It is all about supply and demand, even in the workforce. People don't migrate to places without jobs on which to live.
Perhaps USA could enact a perpetual wall building program and guarantee full employment to anyone willing to build. Walls around entire perimeter of the country, at least 500’ tall.

This could be even better duty than the BIBs fining motorcyclists 500 thb for no license or helmet. Now we're talking!

..they could start by banning any student from school grounds that doesn't have a helmet.. perhaps subsidise or give helmet free..
Most of the helmets sold here are worthless toys anyway.

What is the use of this information? Why does the police need to know everywhere I am at all times? Are foreigners a danger to Thai's?

My, what a lot of cold, heartless comments. Stealing, not good, but showing such cold and heartless concern for another human being is no better.

She is in hotel in transit area.
I believe the word "hotel" is a bit over the top here. I know someone who was denied entry and sent on a later plane back to her departure airport and was held in the airport for several hours. It was simply a surveilled room, hardly a "hotel".

It is highly doubtful the tourists were lying about the fare. This kind of fleecing is so common on Samui. And the driver deserves whatever beating he got. It is all about face. And how do I feel about face, the single greatest form of human weakness there is?
Face is no doubt, the greatest form of weakness, a human can engage in. Many will say it is societal, cultural, etc. No matter. It is the absolute and complete lack of the ability to introspect, and look within for the source of any problem, shortcoming, conflict, or issue. It is the polar opposite of spirituality, and therefore an absolute scourge on Buddha, and all of the precepts he taught. By practicing face, you are denying your spiritual heritage. You are refusing to man up. To take responsibility for your actions. If a man or a woman cannot, and will not take responsibility for their actions, the problems they create, the mistakes they make, and the issues they involve themselves in, what are they? Are they still an adult? Are they a complete individual, if they allow themselves to be limited by such infinitely small social convention?
Who cares what people think of you? For those of us with high self esteem, it just does not matter. Sure, close friends and family. But strangers on the street? Who gives a rat's butt about this? It means nothing what they think, nor what they say about you. They count for nothing. They are just people, and people you do not know, nor will ever see again. Face is rife with self doubt, and by subscribing to this weakness, and man or woman is made a far lesser person. For those of us with high self esteem, we know who we are. What others think, what society thinks, what a guy or gal thinks, means less than zero.
Real men or women, simply own a situation, and take responsibility for their errors or mistakes. Small men, social deviants, or emotional adolescents deflect, obfuscate, attempt to confuse, and do everything in their power to deny that they made a mistake, or that they are responsible in any way, or on any level. They make up narratives about fake news, or alternative facts. Anything to avoid looking within, for the source of the problem. Anything.
But old Gautama was a farang, so what do you expect?

RIP, mate. Bad as the murder rate sounds in Thailand the last few months, it's nothing more than a weekend's work in Chicago.
