  1. Wow, you really HATE FARANGS. Do you ever stop to think about the percentage of thais doing the same thing during songkran? There's bad everywhere. If you ever leave your house you might be able to see for yourself rather than sit and talk about how "Farangs are the worst of morons". You actually sound pretty ignorant. I have been blasted with high powered water guns, had an eye infection from the powder and dirty water, and iced water thrown on me while I was on my way to work on my motorcycle. This was all done by THAIS. Thai men don't know how to handle their liqueur. Unlike you, I don't sit there and complain about it or announce that I can't go outside because of bad people.( I think other foreigners would agree as well ). It's pretty ridiculous. You definately need to get a grip on reality, otherwise... just stay home and bake in your loathing. :o

    :D sawadee kaa from a Lukkrung (Thai-American)

Things are not helped in Chiangmai when there are cross-road banners outside Yupparat Wittyalai school, with the only decypherable English stating that the Songkran Festival is from 1-18 April.

Farangs have for a long time, been the worst of the morons during Songkran up here

Personal examples from the past - 2002 - 10Kg block of ice accompanied by around 1 litre of water, in the face while riding the motorbike inside the moat - one week BEFORE the official start of festivities. Thrown by a farang

2005 - 11pm at night - bucket of ice cubes and water in the mush on the motor bike while riding past a scummy backpackers restaurant - thrown by a farang - whilst attepting to ride between two singthaews on the move at 40+ kph

2005 (again) two buckets of water in the face on the motorbike at 50kph on the Hang Dong highway - from farangs hiding behind a parked Songthaew - 7 days after the official END of "festivities".

And people wonder why the police will not license resident farangs to carry firearms?

Gaz (prisoner in his own house for the next 10 days)

  2. Thanks everyone for all the help. I was pretty lost at what I needed to do. I think the hospital was the 5th field. it sounds right. I will have to ask my Father to double check. Also, (SBK) that would be great if you could remove the picture.I would appreciate it. I didn't know there was so many farang :o pervs. :D lol. Take care all Cheers!

  3. I have a question.

Does anyone know if it is possible to have a dual citizenship? And, if it's legal to have both? I was born in Bkk ,Thailand at an Army hospital. Dad is an American and Mom is thai with an American citizenship. At the time, my father was a soldier for the (American)Airforce. To my understanding, I was born an American citizen being the fact that I was born under the Airforce (war brat). I have been living here in Thailand for almost 2 years. I have to get a yearly visa in order to stay here. My birth certificate is in English. I need to know where that Army hospital is in Bkk. Does anyone know of any Army hospitals in Bkk>? I figure if I had those documents translated ,and had recieved my birth certificate in Thai, it would be easier for me to have a Thai Id card, the one you need to have in your persons if you want to buy a house or car or land etc...Also, for a drivers license. If I was born here, is it possible that I could have the thai citizenship as well? I can never get an answer from my family here, they all speak thai, and not one lick of English.

We have a huge language barrier. I try to communicate in Thai to them (as much as I can) but they don't seem to care to try to learn a few english words. I am pretty much a ghost to my family here :o . I have to do everything for myself. So any input would sure be helpful.

    Thanks So much!

    Hi there!

I just found out about this forum today. Great thing! I will move to Bangkok in about a month to stay for about two years. I will be happy to chit chat with other expat women, have coffees, beers or anything else.

Oh right, age seems to be a topic, so: I'm soon turning 28.

Hope to see one or the other of you once I'm there.

    Cheers from Spain!

:o If you want to hang out sometime, e-mail me and I'll see if I can hook up with you 4 a coffee. I hear they have a star bucks in BKK. :D Okay, well if you are interested, send me an e-mail..
