  1. I voted "of course", but I do not live in Thailand and my attendance would depend on whether or not I happened to be in Thailand at the same time. That said, I'd love to attend.

    For me the same.

I certainly would attend the meeting and I hope it will be between second half of July an d the first half of August this year. After that time my daughter has to go to school in Holland again. And I have to return to Holland too, because I want to help her with Latin and Greek.

  2. You can not let it be, huh?! Teary eyed, yes! Maybe because she feels sad for her herself...but maybe...just maybe, she also feels sad for people dieing, drowning, loosing their possessions, being in horrible situations....

It is called "compassion"- something that most of you are obviously lacking!

I agree wholeheartedly. Whenever there is news, the Baboons come out to make light and criticize everything said or ask on this site. Isn't it time the super duper moderators delete a lot of the BS? The country is being torn apart and the same people trying to live here on a penny are the same ones making stupid comments about everything. It's no wonder TV is slowly getting a bad rap reputation.

I have to believe, politics aside, that everyone's doing their best to help the people and save the infrastructure. Long hours, little food, no sleep, and many losing everything. Give them a break! Their are a lot of humanitarians their sacrificing for their people. What are all the wiseacres and sideline pundits doing to help? Mostly nothing!

Lifer, I agree with you, ++++++++++++++++++++

  3. Mostly I just read some topics, also here, but this topic is very interesting for me too and applicable.

Now I have to go with my (step)daughter, 11yo, to her swimming contest. Later today I will write here my question too. Now we live in Holland and we are thinking to live in Thailand in a few years.

  4. What are you going to do about living quarters in that period ? Utrecht is very difficult because of the thousands of students and also expensive..

PM me if you want help.

    LaoPo

Same with me, Bambina, if you need help to find accomodation, please, PM me. My parents live in another city, but very easy to travel with the train and only 15 minutes. My younger sister has been studying and living in Utrecht. She might know places and/or people.

    Nienke

    Bambina, congratulations.

LaoPo and Nienke have already offered you help. So do I. I just saw this thread, I am not a big writer here, just reading from time to time.

Like you can see in my profile I live in Holland and live there with my Thai wife and her daughter. About 40 years ago I got my masters (Dutch law) in Nijmegen (Radboud University).

    I'll send you a PM.

DB: Before that (give help I guess he means) they see passport now I had been here one year taking money from money from the government of Holland I was taking money for being unemployed, I should be in Holland looking for a job, but I was here. If they see that...

    Unquote

I think he cheated on Dutch government and now he cheats on Thai people.

  6. I asked about finding a wife. I said I work as an actor. I never said I was a film star. I play supporting roles as a rule. I write books. I have not lied about anything. Why the unpleasentness? If that was offensive I am sorry.

Maybe you are acting you are looking for a wife and are curious about the reactions.

This forum is not meant for this "looking", SBK wrote and I agree

BTW, I am a man and read with interest this forum; I rarely write something here, because I think that if you write something, you must have to tell something usefull.

Sometimes I think: "men use common sense and be respectfull".

I always tell my wife that I married into her family and expect her to be close to her family and that they are always welcome, either in the north or in Bangkok. It does seem that most farang wall themselves in and don't want anything to do with their wives families which I think is a shame, but each to their own.

    .....................................

I don't discriminate. I was the same in my home country with my own family. Short visits are fine once in a while but I'm not about to let them set up camp and stake a claim.

    Gary A, I agree

  8. hi there,

My friend is been married to a thai national who is currently residing in the uk and is 6 months pregnant..

He was wanting to know, is it possible for her to goto spain on a 1 or 2 week holiday from the UK next year.

I think they will be leaving to child with his parents whilst going on holiday.

Is there any red tape that i need to tell him about such as filling out any other kind of visas in the uk for her.

She is currently on a 2 year settlement visa in the UK..

Any info will be much appreciated.

    Regards

    Red

    Maybe this is usefull:

When my stepdaughter (8 yo) came to Holland early this year, she needed a Schengen visa. At the Dutch embassy we could choose

    - a C-visa (single entry, valid for stay in Holland 90 days) or

    - a D-visa (multiple entry, valdid for stay in Schengen area 90 days).

When D-visa it was needed a complete health insurance for 90 days.

Maybe this is for all the Schengen countries.

  9. When I met my wife in Khon Kaen four years ago we didn't walk hand in hand and until now -she lives with me in Holland since three years- we still don't do it. Intimacy is for at home, we think.

In the beginning mostly older women looked at me, when they saw us together. I was a little bit embarressed. Not now any more. I don't do anything wrong, the only thing is that I am 63 and my wife is 40. Since three months her daughter (8yo) lives with us in Holland and we are happy.

I am thinking to move to Thailand sometimes, but I need a fast internet connection. Now it looks bad in Thailand.

Last year there was launched a satelite for internet and telecom in SE Asia, but no result until now?

  12. As a man I much prefer natural breasts and find fake ones a turn-off. Ladies shouldn't worry about getting fake ones to fit some unrealisitc image. There are plenty of men who like you just the way you are. :o

    I fully agree "TRIPxCORE"

Ladies, think about it ten times before you have it done

  13. well just a little help please what sort of price's and times am i looking at from bangkok to khon kean by plane one way, cheers everyone.

    :o

Last year in June Air Asia had flights from Bangkok to Khon Kaen for THB 600 (one way) or sometimes THB 200 plus taxes. Somewhat later they stopped the flights to Khon Kaen.

I am looking also for another than Thai and I try to find on internet which airlines have flights to Khon Kaen.

  14. I had good experiences with a travel agency opposite the main entrance of Kaen Inn hotel in Khon Kaen (near the bus station).

Several years ago I asked some information about flights BKK-AMS by email and I got plenty.

I ordered two times tickets for my wife and she could get it at the office and pay.

Of course I sent my wife the money.

Now in April We will go to Khon Kaen again to take her daughter with us to Holland. We will go there again and buy the daughter's ticket there.

I have an emailadress of the travel agency: [email protected]

    Good luck

  15. is there not a waiting time of 310 days after the day you get the divorce in thailand?  info at www.lawyer.th.com/QR-marriage-information.asp

That is merely a pregnancy clause - believe it can and is easily waived with doctor report.

Thank you lopburi3 for that info as g/f & I plan to marry as soon as my divorce papers arrive and I did not understand this clause. So you just get a doctor to write a report to say your g/f is not pregnant and you will be ok. :o

I think -at least in Holland years ago- this pregnancy clause is only for women. For men it was not a problem to marry within this period of 300 days after divorce.
