Have to admit, I enjoy BJ's enthusiasm, but he is pushing the boat out if he expects to locate, identify, charge and deport 7,000 'known' overstayers in the next 13 days. If he achieves this, I will voluntarily eat my words.

More alarming to me however are the other facts & figures in this drum-beating OP, especially the ones highlighting the border security of Thailand. In his attempt to surround himself and his team with honour, he has also shown how porous the borders of Thailand are.

Another question arises as well; are the 349 people who failed to report their residential addresses going to be deported for this? That. IMO, would be extremely harsh.

No. What is extremely hash is the TV members' assertion that recklessly rounding-up people of colour and deporting them would inevitably make white dudes more acceptable and royally respected by Thai people. When the fact remains that they see us as worms. The farmers need you for their crops.

All too common a story here and equally sad every time. Doesn't matter how much you love them, you are an utter idiot when you put your life's savings in their name. You are going to get fleeced, or stitched up more often than not, and yet, still it goes on. Sorry fellas, but when she is 30 years younger than you, she is marrying you for one reason only, and you really need to keep the wad tight, at least until you die.

What would our judges say if she should loose some of these proceeds to our scammers? ??

I would be fair if they treat all nationalities in the same way and investigate everyone with mo regards of the country of origin....I knew a teacher from the UK who was teaching in a well known Bangkok school and he  was overstaying his visa for 7 years

Noo. They'd never do that because the world is a biased place. And more than 90% of the people reading your post is racially biased. Miserable 'saints' living in glass roofs.

Actually it's a word with a dictionary definition.  If Thailand wants to create a new crime that involves causing embarrassment then use a new word.

And I think you have it wrong.  I don't think it's right to punish a prostitute.  I think it's normal for people to blow a fuse when they catch a spouse cheating on them.  People still get killed for that kind of stuff.  But posting a video of you tossing a prostitute out of your home?   Come on. Utter Thai BS.  Oh, she lost face.  You think the wife didn't lose face?

Then in counter suit, the wife should sue the husband. She may prove the right to film her husband committing adultery, but lacks merit to nail only the prostitute in the media. Besides, this gik may not have been paid for her services yet.

Why?  Because she lost face?  Boo hoo.

I think a not insignificant number of people who caught their significant other in bed with someone else would kick them to the curb same as this girl did.

Now, we can debate all day long as to whether or not she should have been mad at her husband but she's well within her rights to kick a half-naked prostitute out the door.

But because in Thailand face means more than common sense, we're supposed to feel bad the wife allowed the video to be posted?

For me, this 'gik' or whatever she may be called is still innocent and can claim damages in term of legal precedence once she could establish that she was legally invited by the supposedly owner or occupant of that condo on a mutual grounds. Without prejudice, the woman can get compensation from this family...no matter what the TV Chief justices here may think.

Since prostitutes can have the right to sue their pimps for emotional, physical and psychological damages in civil court, like in the states of Florida (1993), Minnesota (1994) and Hawaii (1999), as well as the federal government.

  6. RiP you poor girl..so much to live for, yet all taken away by a rapist..(who despite being in prison for a previous sexual attack STILL got a job

    as a teacher..??)

    Condolences to the family also.

(will we be shocked when he escapes any conviction or jail-time by choosing to be a monk, & 'hiding' in a Thai temple along with many other offenders)

The article did no mention of the suspect's profession. It says: 'the suspect attempted to rape and subsequently killed the female school-teacher'.

  7. asked, the child bride what she thought of this story, the reply ' the girl is a slut who loves many d|cks', what if they got the wrong car i ask, the reply 'if the other girl that angry to do that, she know the car'.

so guilty, in the eye of the mrs

In addition, if she's so innocent, she may have utterly ignored the joke. No need to fight for justice when you don't have a cause.

  8. Well now unfortunately for the same private reason you will be banned from reentering Thailand for few years. You should have left before 1st March then you would have only paid the fine but now it is much more . If you are arrested it will be more serious and you will also be imprisoned.

Not correct. He can still sort himself out asap. Your condemnation will only be effective from March 20th, even if apprehended before that date.

  9. Costas just because a person cannot understand Thai does not mean that they can't understand the English subtitles that accompany his boring program but I suppose you can't read English. Secondly, your sprouting at the mouth nonsense makes you look like a simple plebian. Thirdly, I will have a Thai speaking competition with you any day of the week.

5555+That I will wait for this week. Idiablo Vs Costa on a Thai Speaking 'Match'.

Kick-off time: exactly the time of 'Return Happiness to the People's' Speech.

    Battle ground: Computer Keysdom

Ticket: BTS to a free wifi area or prepaid packages.

Oops! Did I by any mistake sound like a good promoter?...rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif

  10. Do not base your solely on the TV advise on whether to open the account or not. Secondly, take the opinion of opening a Thai account yourself (since you're still in Bkk), demand to be attended to by the international/foreign transactions officer at the bank (try Kasikon). Then give your w/gf the ATM as a surprise when leaving...People are living testimonies to this system...You're a good man. Peace to you.thumbsup.gif

  11. Shouldn't adults be immune to this from vaccination or childhood infection?

Adults are definitely not immune to it. My wife has just spent a week in Bkk Hospital Hua Hin with it and as an adult it much worst than having the virus as a child. She had a temperature of 40 for a day or two and it was not nice. I thought I had it as a kid and when I asked my 84 year Mum to assure me I had it, she said....Hmmm I think you had it. Or was it your brother. Guess I will find out. Cheers

I think it was your brother that really had it...555. I believe your mum. You need to get ready for it. Just joking, bro.tongue.pngtongue.png

  12. Goodness me, the authorities can't even say that a "THAI WOMEN" arrested with cash from scam.

That is exactly how it is, no Nigerians have been arrested as far as I can see. This is xenophobia on steroids and very bad for Thai publicity yet again.

Besides your observation, I ran an background search on a black guy that had worried my gf. He claimed to be a Nigerian, but he is not. He's from other smaller country around the Chad area of W/Africa. They all get their visas from Thai Embassy in Nigeria. Here, many people will appreciate the name easier than naming some other countries they're not conversant with...so if he commits crime...he's a Nigerian. But it's still difficult to understand.

  13. "Suspected Member of 'Nigerian Scam' Arrested With 1.8 Million Baht"

Shouldn't that have the word "Thai" after suspected?

You know, just to ensure clarity, make it clear that the only arrested member of this scam is a Thai woman claiming Nigerians are responsible?

...because Thais do not commit scam and drug crimes...only Nigerians do....cheesy.gif

Who knows what was her share of the deal that she's paying off B1.8m? Maybe a lioness' share...Lol
