To be born an Englishman is to win first prize in Gods great lottery of life. But for heavens sake why would you live there when you can live in Thailand. I have done the rounds in some truly challenging places, Libya, Kuwait, Egypt, North Wales and Aberdeen just to name a few. The land of smiles; excellent food, truly lovely people with no religious hang ups (apart from the deep south), cheap to live, great golf courses, beautiful ladies who don't wear a severe straight fringe and look like they have been chewing on a wasp like the east Europeans do. Why go home. You can even watch the Premier League live here with better kick off times while drinking Singha beer brewed locally

Presently in Hong Kong.... nice skyline but really haven't seen too many of the perfect people so far

Singapore is Asia lite a sort of tropical Chelsea it depends what you are looking for. The gated communities along Srinakarindra actually have a lot of Thai's living there as well. Downtown Sukhumvit is hardly a taste of real Thailand it is horses for courses depends what you are looking for and Thailand offers it all. Speaking as someone who lived many years in North Africa and the Middle East the whole experience is a breath of fresh air, very glad to experience it.

Well speaking as an expat working in Thailand I am off to HK tomorrow so will report back my findings. Personally I think Bangkok is an excellent place to live and work. For sure it is not squeaky clean like for instance Singapore but then who wants a sterilised life with picture postcard pretty people surely a melting pot of various misfits and miscreants adds a certain frisson to the mix!

Thai's love their pooches then ban them from going anywhere. National parks and public parks are all out of bounds. Just imagine if you couldn't walk your dogs in the Lake District or North Yorks Moors probably civil war. We can walk our dogs around the compound on which we live but just meet other Farangs. Thai's have dogs but apparently dont walk them. This is the issue why regulate to allow it when they can't be bothered anyway. Maybe though if they asked their pooches what they wanted things maybe different.

Hello hotchips there is an international school nearby Pattana with a British and German stream don't know more details than that but it does appear to be reputable

If you are proposing the use of a zap collar then you are not a true dog lover these are cruel instruments. Most often it is not the dog but the owner that requires training.

Dogs are all pets at Narasiri no issues there all very peaceful. The odd yap but then dogs are dogs. Also gardens are enclosed so dogs can't get out. Got to keep a look out for snakes though

I can recommend Moo Baan Narasiri near to the crossing of the Pattanakarn Srinakarindra Road. We have two dogs and the compound is pet friendly and you can walk them round without issue. There are also a number of houses to rent there

Just enjoy after all it is only grape juice that has gone off a bit. A natural product that was even enjoyed by Jesus with a bit of fish and bread. Worlds full of people who tell you don't. I say why not!

Interesting those defending mother England while living the high life over here. Sounds to me like a guilt complex. Cheap beer, hot tottie that is actually pleasant and willing to make you happy, world class cuisine, cheap living, fantastic beaches and very nice people. That is why people stay here. QED. Any wingers get back to Blighty where you belong. At least 3 months of the year you can enjoy similar warm pleasant climes similar to hear. But then you have to put up with women that look like they have been chewing on a wasp. Good look. For the rest welcome to Nirvana
