  1. Hello!

I'm currently taking 20mg of Valdoxan (Agomelatine - aka Melitor or Thynamax in Thailand) and will run out soon.

I have a prescription and medical certificate from my Australian doctor. Is it possible to go to a larger international pharmacy in Bangkok and receive the medication like this? Otherwise I'm happy to go to a hospital or psychiatric facility for a consultation / receive a prescription in Thailand. I just don't know where to start so any information will be appreciated!

    Thank you

  2. Hello,

I'm looking for a decent place to hire a scooter in Kathu-Phuket Town. I'm after a Fino or Scoopy for around 1500-2500 p/month if possible. Appreciate your suggestions!

    Thanks!

  3. I feel like I need to wrap this up because of how bizarrely off topic it got and before a fight starts about how my brother bathes... He ended up having his cast cut off yesterday and now his ankle is just bandaged because it was too much to deal with in the heat and not being able to swim. The wheelchair hasn't been too hard to use in the streets of Patong luckily! Thanks for all your suggestions. :)

  4. Hello!

My family along with my twelve year old brother are visiting for the next nine days and the poor thing recently broke his ankle so he now has a full length cast on his leg! They've brought a wheelchair and crutches for him but getting through the streets of Patong can even be difficult for an able bodied person! Does anyone have any recommendations on what my family can do with him throughout the day? We've already got Jungceylon, Phuket Fantasea, Wat Chalong, Trick Eye Museum, Tiger Kingdom, etc on the list. I'm trying to find a Phang Nga Bay tour also that doesn't go to shore at James Bond Island (the steps over the hill would be too hard for him) and one that doesn't include kayaking... so it would be great if anyone knows a company that does this!

    Thanks!

  5. I find it upsetting that there is always someone that brings up an individuals legality when a story about them appears in the news. Examples being a young Russian woman who was in an car accident and the even younger British boy that committed suicide not long ago. Each article I saw there would be at least one "what visa were they on and did they have a work permit?" question. If it doesn't effect you personally... get off your high horse and have some respect. I feel like there are a lot of bitter and potentially ageist people living here. I'm under twenty and have a professional job (not teaching or working in a bar) that is completely legal yet I still feel like no one believes me when they ask what I do or how old I am.

  6. Hi,

I have to go on a visa run for a non-B in a few weeks to Penang and was wondering what the best way to get there would be? There seem to be so many visa run company mini-bus horror stories so I'd feel more comfortable doing it myself! Flying via Firefly also isn't an option because flights are too expensive on the dates I need.

    Thanks for your suggestions!

  7. Hey! I've recently moved here and was just wondering what are some of the must see things to do on the island! I'm not interested in drinking and I can save the majorly touristy stuff like Tiger Kingdom and the elephant camp for when I have family and friends visiting. So far I've been to Thai Hua Museum and done a bit of exploring in Phuket Town. Any recommendations on beaches, museums, nice cafes etc are appreciated. Thanks!

  8. Small dim sum place in Kathu on the way from Kathu market to the traffic lights where the post office and the primary school are located.

This is actually really close to me. Thanks for the suggestion. I have trips to HK & Singapore planned over the next few months so I'll be able to get a good Yum Cha fix easily then, haha.

  9. Open a Thai account with a debit card and send the card to a family member or friend in OZ. They can withdraw the money each month and deposit into your Commonwealth account. Each withdrawal costs $5.

Sent from my iPhone using ThaiVisa app

Just make sure that the card can be used Intl. This will work well for you.

I had to open a new Krungsri account because they wouldn't allow duplicate cards but it still worked out conveniently. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm going to do this. Even with the Commonwealth withdraw fees / conversion it'll still be SO much cheaper than transferring online with any banks.

  11. One would assume that talking to your bank manger would be the ultimate information source

rather than relying on second hand information, one idea could be to use your Krung Sri

card for said deduction.. up to you to work out the cost...

The bank unfortunately isn't the "ultimate information source"... I wouldn't have posted on here if I didn't want second hand information. One would assume that this is the whole purpose of this forum. Thanks for not being any help at all.
