Sure, thank you.

Hello ladies
Can anyone please advise what the current cost of memberships to the Kantary Hill gym & health club in Chiang Mai. I'm moving to Chiang Mai in January 2020, and just wondering if it's worth paying for their facilities instead of renting a less expensive condo without a pool and sauna on site.
Cheers

Can anyone confirm if they have found a local company that provides a sanitizing treatment service for aircon?

Can anyone confirm if you have used the consulate in Brisbane for an METV recently? Just curious about how long it would take to process.

Sounds cool your fencing club FolkGuitar ! I might give it a try soon.
I have seen a lot of taekwendo clubs for kids here, but no Judo, no Karate, no Aikido or Ju-Jutsu. We are so close from japan so why is it so difficult to find these here ? as there are so many in europe..
I miss Aïkido so much, if someone knows any aikido club or any japanese martial art club here, please tell !
Best Regards to all
Just following up Zendo, did you find the Aikido group at CMU? I'm also interested in Aikido classes if they're open to non-students/members. Keen to hear if you got in there!

I've seen most of that stuff at Rimping.
I buy hummus, baba ganoush labelled as Eggplant dip from Tops, it's an Australian brand called Yumis. It's pretty good if you don't want to make your own. Not cheap, but then again none of our favourite farang food stuffs are here! Both hummus and baba ganoush are easy to make at home. Plus the ingredients can be easily sourced here too. It's just a suggestion! ☺

Thank you.Lol...I admit the same. I almost always made my own back home too ? But I don't go to the trouble here either

Oh I forgot to mention...do scan the delicatessen counters in Tops and Rimping as well as the dairy fridge. You may find some great cheese tucked away in there too ;-)

I recommend checking out Tops & Rimping. Not the cheapest of our options but they sell loads of good western cheese and some health foods too. Particularly the ones at Kad Suan Kaew and Central Festival. There is also a good health food shop, Aden, next to Warm Up on Nimman which sells interesting cheeses made from kefir, goat's milk, along with gluten free cereals. Happy shopping! :-D

Sorry Dassie, but I thought your comments were purely reserved for the Americans! How dare the Chinese impinge on this monopoly.
I suspect they truly believe that no one would ever hurt them because they rule the world. You know, what with them being blessed with superior intelligence and born in such a powerful nation and all...God, help us!? '>.<'I've found the horn has no effect on the Chinese. I've had my close calls with them as well, both on motorbike and in car. The only thing that has worked is my swerving to avoid them, slamming on the brakes, or the Chinese happening to look my way.
I hear sirens all day long down by CM gate, and I wonder if they are ambulances scraping the Chinese off the road and taking them to a hospital.
How can they be so stupid?
..they behave like there's 'no tomorrow'..just landed on planet Earth and are stunned...the natural attrition rate must be very high in their country.
Now I expect my comment will be like putting the cat amongst the pigeons.
No offence meant....just my observations.
Oh CMKiwi, Padawan, you just haven't spent enough time around the illustrious Chinese to see it yet!? They rather fancy themselves as being much smarter than the rest of us average bears, including our dear friends from the states, and the kiwis too!? LOL *sigh* followed by a face palm

I was a dummy this year and didn't wear an N95 when riding my scooter for the first few weeks of the smoky season and my asthmatic lungs suffered accordingly. So now I wear one every time I ride it, no matter how short of a trip. All of my scooter trips are short, just a few kilometers round trip--I use my truck for longer trips--but it has made a noticeable difference in my inhaler use frequency.
It's so easy to be relaxed about wearing a mask. I get a lot of unusual looks and stares even. Which I have learned to ignore. But like yourself if I don't wear a mask when I'm outdoors it leaves me using an asthma med inhaler at the end of the day :-(
BTW is smoky season almost finished?!

I can't believe I'm even bothering with this...but, I can't help myself LOL. How does it make sense to fine the women who have been paid by the motor show, or, car manufacturers to turn up dressed like that?! [face palm]

I'm a bit over walking down the recently converted one way sois in Nimman whilst dodging speeding drivers. The least they could have done was restrict parking to one side of the road along with the one way conversion so pedestrians and motorbike riders have safer passage!?
-
I am surprised they haven't cottoned on to parking meters.
LOL...funny suggestion. No-one would actually be prepared to pay for them nor their installation though. Mai mee!

You really need to get out more. I often follow links to articles I'm interested in and find local news stations or newspapers that have a dozen stories about people who do the same stuff except in the U.S. This is just a tiny fraction of these events, which are so common they are not considered "news." In fact, for the most part, in the U.S. now if fewer than four people are killed it's not going to be reported at all. We have at least one of those a week and increasing. Oh, unless there's a Muslim involved, of course.another Thai 'man' viciously murdering his female partner in a fit of rage caused by jealousy.
They really, really, do have serious emotional and egotistical issues to battle, with more than a smidgen of repressed anger due to the culture and society.
So many are simply pitiful.
Unfortunately, this happens all too frequently in many Western countries such as the UK, USA, Australia, South Africa. In Australia due to the sheer number of deaths from domestic violence it considered to be epidemic. Thailand is not so far removed from the very same alarming rate of crime and deaths resulting from domestic violence. This is not just a cultural issue in any one particular country. It is complex, yet deeply rooted in behaviour that people consider to be acceptable towards women.

Australia has a P plate for new drivers that has to be displayed, Maybe the powers to be can make plates up for these Chinese new drivers, with a capital T , that can be seen by other road users , thus enabling drivers to be extra cautious than we are already,
Capital idea, leeneeds! Then I don't have to wait until these drivers beep to chase me off the road (>-<) one needs to be quick off the mark LOL

Can anyone recommend a good place where they get shoe repairs done in Chiangmai?
-
They invaded Bangkok 5 years ago and today in CM, you hear their noise everywhere !!
So many shops are putting up Chinese words now.
How to stop them from making so much noise ?
Do you think it's polite to remind them with a Shhhh.... ?
I can speak Chinese, shall I tell them to keep their noise low ?
I don't mind the little effort if it helps.
LOL...I shooshed a small group of Chinese tourists just today as I was attempting to enjoy a relaxing 90 minute herbal compress massage. I waited for them to settle and quiet down of their own accord. But it wasn't looking like it was going to happen :-( So, I politely excused myself for interrupting (the incessant chatter), and shooshed them and reminded them people are trying to relax here. My massage therapist just smiled at me, and we enjoyed the serenity from there on in! To their credit they were all quiet and peaceful for the rest of the time I spent in there :-D

Can anyone please tell me if they've had it done in Chiang Mai, and how you found the results? I'm curious but a little unsure and nervous about it!
