  1. Send by Fed Ex at a Fed Ex store. You will have a tracking number to follow and a signature upon arrival at the IRS, which you should print for your records. I have done this several times and about 7 days for delivery in the states from Thailand. Don't mess with Thai post as it will lay at the airport for 2 weeks before outgoing mail is flown overseas.

The Thai government has bandied about various numbers for tourist arrivals.  The Tourism minister is predicting up to 10 million tourists in the 2nd half of the year.   Of the options, which one do you think is most accurate?

Feel free to leave a comment.

Open mouth ...insert foot....look at today's headlines in Bkk Post....no vaccines until maybe June?

That doesn't tell you too much does it? No tourist will quarantine for 14 days while on holiday...these people just don't have a clue.

Thai food hygiene: Restaurants told to get their act together or face fines of 50K next month

    Picture: Daily News

The department of hygiene has warned restaurants and food preparers of all kinds in Thailand to smarten up their cleanliness of face fines of 50,000 baht from December 16th.

Dr Suwannachai Wattanayingcharoenchai, acting department chief, said that since new health ministry regulations were issued in 2018 all restaurants were supposed to report for training by the end of 2020.

However he admitted that many out of 500,000 establishments had not reported for training.

The training includes the way food is prepared, the ingredients that are permitted and general cleanliness of locations and personnel among many other factors.

Now Daily News reported that those restaurants who had done nothing to address the issue over the last few years needed to act.

With time running out measures would be announced at the end of next week to clear up the backlog.

The info the article is not entirely correct info. That is only the deadline if you have skipped a 90 day report and it is not mandatory it be done by the end of today.

The extension of the ministerial order states they are not required until after September 26th. That also means there would be no overstay fines.

This from the ministerial notice extension. Section 37 (5) is for 90 day reporting.

So when is the IMM going to do the 90 days reports that have been back logged the past 3 weeks for the expats that are on retirement extensions....still waiting since August 10 for mine...mail in and registered as always the last 14 years....what's up with them?....I have my receipt and it was due on Aug. 20....still don't have it....somebody is sleeping on the job.

  5. After being scammed in Siem Reap in Feb. by the Cambodian Immigration for Visa on Arrival, I wouldn't trust them for anything about getting any refund back on this issue. First and last time in Cambodia........corruption at it's best

But, but, but - the Tourism Minister said the virus would be wiped out by Songkran because it (the virus) didn't like hot weather !

"Thailand's tourism minister: Everything will be fine after Songkran - the hot weather will blow the virus away!"
    https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1149863-thailands-tourism-minister-everything-will-be-fine-after-songkran-the-hot-weather-will-blow-the-virus-away/

Of course, this is the same Minister who just yesterday issued an order that arrivals from 11 different countries would be required to "self-quarantine" for 14 days after arriving in Thailand !! (https://thethaiger.com/hot-news/coronavirus/thai-health-minister-laughs-at-media-when-asked-about-his-travel-restrictions-document)

"Tuesday evening’s post said travellers from affected countries would be subjected to a 14 day quarantine “without exceptions

He quickly deleted the post (after it caused an uproar), then he closed his Facebook account altogether (then announced that he "has many Facebook accounts to communicate with the public").

He also denied knowing about the order, despite it clearly having his signature on it !
"When Thai media reached out for comments from the Minister at Government House, Anutin denied any knowledge about the matter.

“I’m also wondering how the document ended up there, since I haven’t signed it. It’s still in my room. (That’s HIS signature on the bottom of the official letters)."

(The 11 countries listed include: China, South Korea, Japan, Germany, France, Singapore, Italy, Iran, Taiwan, and the Chinese territories of Hong Kong and Macau. The Public Health Ministry has said the list of countries would be reviewed.)

  7. I want to ask true if their internet service is available in my area (thaveewattana).

On their phone number nothing happens "All our ???? are engaged" or something like that since 2 weeks. To contact them per email does not result in any feedback. If you click on online-order the link also does not work.

If I go to the next shop which is far away I have to wait arround 1 hour to speak with someone who has no idea what I speak about (the staff there is direct from the zoo I think).

Has anyone a sales phone number or even better an emailadress (which get answered in not longer than 3 month).

Try this call center number...I live in Bangkok and it works quite well for me with an English speaking person no less........02-271717...press#9 for English...talk slow and be patient...hope it works for you.

  8. Seems very easy to get so why have i never seen it at a restuarant? i have eaten at alot of western restaurants also thai and japanese but never found viniger. How do u say viniger in thai not the spelling but how u say it that might help.

Barry......most likely is because it is too costly and since Thais don't really use it as one of thier condiments on a daily basis, I doubt if the establishment wants to buy it just for one or two calls in a month or so by westerners...I agree, its even tough to get mustard for a sandwich sometimes...suggestion...buy a small bottle and take it with you when you go out to eat......happy dining. :o

  9. I will be in Hat Yai for a few days this month and could anyone tell me if there are any gay clubs, bars or restaurants in the city...or perhaps a website that you could refer me to of Hat Yai or Songkhla..thanks... very much appreciated. :o
