Having operating a vehicle accident recovery service for over 30 years one thing always comes to my mind. People slow down in snow and ice but never when its raining, and that is when the most traffic accidents happen.

Far better to get your re-entry permit at Suvarnabhumi airport on leaving Thailand
-
I took my daughter to UK. She also had a uk passport and thai passport. It would be in your own interest to have paperwork giving the mothers consent for you to take the children out of Thailand I had that, and had no problem. The children will have to leave Thailand on their Thai passports and board the aircraft on the uk ones. Going through Thai immigration is where they may or may not ask for the consent papers. If no papers they will not let the kids leave. Best of luck.

yes but you get your pound back if you return the trolley instead of abandoning it
-
i always keep mine in a biscuit tin for when i go home or abroad once every year or so. Always comes in useful if i need use a pay phone or pay for those ridiculously expensive trolleys in British airports, the ones that should be free!
???
What airport are you using? I've only ever seen airports in the US charge for trolleys.
MAnchester have started charging a quid for trolleys, over a year ago....robbers !!

What are you worried about? If the child lives in Thailand depart on the Thai passport (and if it lives in Germany, depart from Germany on the German passport). Enter the destination country on whichever passport gives the most easy access. For most countries this would be the German (western) passport, but for some destinations the Thai passport (Turkey for instance). Depart the destination country on the same passport that was used to enter. Enter Thailand again on the Thai passport.
So a dual Thai-other national:
- Enters and departs Thailand on their Thai passport.
- Enters and leaves the country of their second/first nationality on the passport of this nationality
- Enters and leaves any other country on the passport best suited.
- Shows the second passport to airlinestaff, border control, immigration etc. if they need to see it (to confirm one has visa free access for instance because of the second nationality).
Which leaves very few questions, what would yours be?
Just do as said above. I have done it, but it is advisable if you are travelling with an under age child on your own, to have a letter from your wife saying she agrees for you to take the child out of Thailand.

To laislica a much easier way for mozzie and red ant bites is to apply tiger balm or gold cup balm after a couple minutes itching and soreness gone
-
I am badly affected by mozzy bites.
They itch like hell and I can scratch until there is a huge bloody wound before the itching stops.
BUT.
1) Take one mug of hot tea, coffee, even hot water.
2) When the temperature is such that you can just tolerate it, press it onto the bite for a few seconds.
This action destroys the mozzy proteins in the spit they inject you with when biting and the itching stops instantly.
If necessary, put the hot mug back again for a few more seconds.
The trick is to seriously heat the skin in the bite area, to a reasonable depth.
I had read that placing a hot spoon on the bite would do the trick but there were too many variables for me.
The hotness of the spoon.
It´s thickness and heat holding/giving capacity.
The mug has a huge reservoir of heat and you have ample time to judge when it hits the "Snow White point", "just right"
I used to take Benadril or apply Fenistil, both effective but now unnecessary.

frednl sorry to hear you were ripped off twice in one year. Maybe it would be helpful to other Thaivisa members if you informed them of the area this happened.

ebean001 In my opinion for what it is worth your idea of bringing children up is totally wrong. My wife and I have a 7yr old daughter and my wife looks after her very well. Every morning before going to school she teaches her maths and english. When she returns my wife .ensures she does her homework and again maths and english. My daughter speaks and understands english very well, and is high in her grades in maths. Bearing in mind she leaves home at 6.45am to travel by bus 25k to school and returns home at 5.30pm. I dont think many british or american kids would put with that
Advice on money in bank
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
My extension of stay through marriage expires on the 28th January 23. I normally transfer money from UK to Thailand at the beginning of October enough to keep my bank balance up but unfortunately my computer went out of action at that time and it took over two months to repair, resulting in my bank balance falling bellow the required 400000bht for two days in October 22. I am looking for some advice on overcoming this problem. Many thanks for any help. By the way this will be my eleventh extension so I should have had more sense to let this happen.
