  1. Its been alot of gossip about my wife here in Norway, since she's from Surin she can do magic. A lady came and visit her, and complaining that her husband wanted her in the bed too much. My wife has try to tell everyone many time that she cannot do and do not belive. That time she get a little pissed of, and mixed some spieces and gave to the lady. I called the husband, he's a friend of mine. The day after she mixed the spieses in he's dinner, after an hour he said was feeling strange, and when they was going to bed, he dropped on the floor and rolling around, and he did the same thing next evening about bedtime.

The next day the lady called and ask if my wife could do something, and get madly angry when my wife told her that we pulled her leg.

Now thai lady really think she has magic power, and a lady ask her to make a little heartattack on another man. Whatever she tell we make a joke no thailandy her belive, cause everyone in Surin messing with black magic. Several has warn me about going to lower Isan, they say its very dangerous. :o

  2. XXl in Surin is hit or miss. I heard tales from a guy of XXl and XXXl shirts at a second hand shop. The guy that was telling me abou them was bigger than me and whenever I saw him he always had a huge tank top on. They looked terrible. He looked like soup sandwich! I went to the 2nd hand shop and they had plenty of mediums and a few larges, but zero XXL.

Bring enough with and if you can't find any, you can always pick some up in Patters or BKK. You won't stay in Surin the whole time will you? You will go stir crazy!

Worse case scenario is to get a tailor to make you shirts. I did it and it was not that expensive. I wear XXl as well. I was able to find some XXL shirts at Pekasem Plaza (not sure if that is spelled right)

    Good luck!!

    Hi TheExpat

I live in Surin and hav'nt notice myself going 'stir crazy' yet ! :D:D:bah:

Sizes across Thailand are a bit hit and miss, so I would recommend not expecting to get 'western' large sizes here. Bangkok is a little easier, if you are having a stop-over. I would expect the only items you would find here, in very large sizes are old fashioned flowery Hawaiian shirts that look good on youthful Pensioners. :o:D:D

    Dave :bah:

I'm going to stay in Surin the hole time so i better bring them from here then. I find large enough size both in Bkk and Samui (thai XXL) it might get difficult in Surin then? And what the heck is wrong with Hawaiian shirts? Its ok for me to look like a big flower.

  3. Not as cold as last year surely? Some days it got so cold that I had to put on a shirt.

Now it snowing as hel_l again, warning here for 60 cm the next 24 hour. So I put a T-shirt on today.

  4. Hallo Drowsy

If you plan to travel a little around, maybe visit Khao Phra Wihan, I'm not far away.

FC Martin can give you more details if you're interested. :o

And 2day it's cold even here, 15 degrees this morning - where is my fleece jacket? :D

Hi there, I already have your homepage, and I might come to visit You, even that your not really a Norwegian.

And to the other that did not understand this, Bergen is a German town in Norway, their not really Norwegians their heritage is Germany, even the town brewery has a German name Hansa. Another fun history about people from Bergen: A few years ago I had a visa run to the Malaysian island Penang ( old English colony Georgetown), that time when you wanted a multi entry visa it usually took almost a week before the hard working thai embassy working men and women manage to do the visa. We had a nice week only interrupted when my wife wanted to try indian food there, ( after this i always refer her ass as the Niagra falls). We wnet one evening after a taxi drivers advise to a restaurant, before we was there I heard a load voice shouting "Heia Braaaan" ( to translate this brann means FIRE, but in the German town in Norway its also is the local monkeymontain (soccer club)) several time. I told my wife that was someone from Bergen that shouting this. When we arrived where this nasy sound come from we see 3 Chinese looking person carrying the garbage out and dropping him on the street. My gentle wife told me we got to help him, but since he's not a real Norwegian i protest . We go into the restaurant and for fun i looked at the gutter where the garbage was placed, after about 30 minuts we heard like snake whispered "heia Braaaaan". :-P

  5. .... Only three weeks I'll be there. :D

Not long now, I am sure. I have been the last 2 weeks in Surin and had a great time. All from the Number 2 Breakfast at Martin's Pub, to all the other interesting things happening around town.

Although my family comes from Surin, the more I travel there, the more I enjoy it. I hope you enjoy yourself.

Not long, only one week before we go, it takes takes about 27 hours total to travel there. I got alot of response of some places i go online, and everything is more nice than the weather here. To day we have heavy snow falls, we got about 10 cm the last hour and its going to be worse the week ahead. I booked trough the pak jai that advertise here, and he seems like a nice fella even he's a f*t g*t. I'm not sure what f*t g*t means, but i might be someone dyslectic trying to write fat goat? :D And if he's not nice i bring a baseballbat. :o

  6. Also Martin, I was thinking. If you do have to close in January, what are you gonna do with all the beer left over, if you don't get the new place?

Are you planning on having a drink all you can, for free day? That would give the FC a right good send off!!! :o

    John.....

I do not think he's ganna have trouble with the beer, I'm staying in Surin in january, and here in my hometown I'm callled the Gully.

  7. I take it that is Arvind..............I'm getting you a room at the Majestic appartments anyway. See you soon.

Yes Martin its me, and thank You for Your help.

I allso send You trough the en query on Your homepage. Only three weeks I'll be there. :o

  9. Me and my famely will go to Surin in January, we been booked into Surin Majestetic with the help of Farrangconnection, but I've been thinking a little about it since we got a little child with us, would it be better to rent a apartment, and is it possible to rent apartments close to the center of the city. It look like we are going to stay in Surin for 4 weeks. If so it need to have real madrasses and not the backbreaking thai style and some cooking oppertuneties. Sorry for the creative english, been to lazy to learn it proper.

You'd be pushed to find a decent ruby in Surin :o

    I think he meant mattrasses.

I don't think there will be a problem with the beds in the majestic hotel. However if you want to rent an apartment in the city on a short term let you might be better off asking Martin at the Farang Connection if he has anywhere available. Although most places that meet your requirements to rent are slightly outside the city.

    John.....

I meant mattrass yes, but just make fun of me, I'm going to beat the crap out of all of you in the bowlingalley when I'm there.

  11. If there is a limousine service you must have to book it in advance, I have seen taxis or mini-buses waiting for people but I have also seen the place totally deserted.

There is definatelly no taxi or limousine service at hand when you arrive.

I'll go with nomad on this one, that's why the FC offer a shuttle service.

Any other travellers, don't be fooled. If you expect a taxi/courier service from Buriram/Satuk airport it is best to make arrangements.

As the last time a friend of mine done this, he hitched a ride from a few villagers heading in the direction of Buriram.

And found his way from there.

I'm not saynig there isn't a service, BUT, there cetainly isn't one there waiting for you!!!

    John.....

In fact the biggest problem is that if you jump in a mini-bus operated by the Airport, it is very likely that they will have a Burirum town drop off first. They will not tell you this, just drop you in Surin about three hours later. It has happened to a few of our customers, who think our service is a tad on the heavy side, and want to get the cost down. Quite funny really. But as in most places, you only get what you pay for. Most have vowed to call us first in future. Also, if you DO want a private service from the Airport, it is exactly the sasme price as us anyway.

What is the cost for your pickup service? Drink you under the table in Your bar? :o

  12. If you only need it twice a year, why don't you consider renting one when you need it.  Would probably work out cheaper.

No, I will let my father in law use it, his car is really ready to grow potatoes in.

  13. Sawatdee krap everyone

I want to buy a used car, a cheap one. How much do I have to pay for a used car there. I do`nt give a shit how it looks. Need aircon, at least 4 seats. I can borrow my father in laws car, but one has to use too much power to ceep it on the road. :o

I allready look at The Farang Connection site, but its far more than i want to use for a car I will use 2 times a year.
