  1. Hello! Sorry for the long post. For my first baby I went to a doc at St. Louis recommended here in this forum and she was really good. Even though I ended up having my baby back in my country, I was satisfied with the ultrasound sessions and other stuffs at St. Louis. I was hoping if I could get any recommendations for Viphavadee hospital as St. Louis will be really far from my place and specially because I will have my second one in Thailand I don’t want to get trapped with any commercial doc. My first one was natural birth, I want a doc who encourage the same this time around. Thank you!

  2. Hi! I am really hoping someone could give me some suggestions where I might throw a birthday party of 30-35 people. It's for My baby's first birthday. It still has some time. But I can't seem to find any place in Nonthaburi. It would be great to have some suggestions.

  3. I just wanted to get back to you all about this subject. So I have changed my pediatrician (she speaks English) and apparently in Thailand pentavalent doesn't include Hep B. But she said since I gave those in my country I don't need to give it separately . [emoji1]

  4. Please suggest me a good pediatric surgeon for a 24days old baby who is suffering from spina bifida. He had one operation already but needs another and his parents want to do it in thailand. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestion regarding this.

  5. I can't find any forum related to bakeware. :( just some common ones. Like muffin pan, round and square cake pans and bundt cake pan. But I want these in metal. I am not very comfortable with silicone.

  6. Hi!

I really need to know where can i purchase bakeware from online. In lazada almost all the cake moulds I like are from overseas. I can't wait that long. I have checked out nearby central and homepro. The collection isn't good at all. I'd really appreciate if someone can direct me to any online shop.

  7. The Pentavalent vaccine definitely includes Hep B, but a total of three doses 4-8 weeks apart are necessary. The single dose the baby received back home will not adequately protect against Hep B or the other 4 disease. 2 more doses, either of the pentavlent vaccine or separaetely of DPT, Hep B, polio and HiB are needed.

The simplest thing would be to get the pentavalent formulation which is available in Thailand under brand name Quinvaxem. You may have to call around to find a hospital which carries it, though, and likely to be the higher end ones. Otherwise, get the separate vaccines.

Regarding Japanese B, need to consider the likelihood of the child at some point traveling to a rural area. Basically for anyone living long-term in Thailand - as opposed to tourists with specific routes - it is best to get it. The disease can cause permanent brain damage or death and has not cure, and it is endemic in rural Thailand (and hyper-endemic in neighboring countries e.g. Cambodia).

  8. Exactly!! In fact one of my acquaintances ( also a foreigner) gave his baby JE . When he asked why he needed to give this as it's actually applicable to residents of Japan or may be in the rural areas around the pig farms of Thailand he was told that it's necessary and not to regret if something happens to his child because he chose not to give it. So he gave in.

  9. My baby is 5 months old and since he came to Thailand one month ago, his first three months vaccine was done in our country. He got the WHO recommended Pentavalent vaccine which covers, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, hep b and HiB. That's what we knew and he got all of these in a government facility. Now that we have come to Thailand, the doctor is saying he should get hep b as pentavalent doesn't cover it. I am very very confused.. What to do? And what have you done with your babies vaccine here.. Thanks in advance!

  10. I am planning to buy an oven. I am not going to be a regular user. But I do need at least 50liter ones. Any idea if houseworth brand will be any good or not? There are sharp, tefal and Electrolux ovens as well.

  11. where can i buy cheap comfortable t shirts, polos and half/three quarter pants for 6-10 months old other than MBK? its for everyday use and small get togethers. nothing fancy. but i dont want to break my wallet buying from big malls. if i could get any links to order online thats also fine. bangkok-nonthaburi area!

  12. I am entering parenthood real soon and was hoping to get some ideas for car seat available in Thailand. First of I am on budget, so would appreciate anything that is cheaper. Second of all, I want a car seat which is going to fit at least 0-3 years.

Having said that, since it's my first baby I am assuming I will need a stroller, sling, crib etc. as well. Those I can chose. But the country I am from we never really use car seat and I have zero idea how to chose it. Since here we don't have much help at home I am assuming I will take my child out whenever I do. So please suggest. Btw we don't plan to travel for first 4 months. At least not long distance, may be to nearby malls or grocery etc.
