Enjoy Thailand for what it is.
Get too big for your boots. Be prepared to be taken down, and not in a manly face to face.
Start publicly shouting and screaming at Thais. Be prepared to be butthurt.
Na khraaap.

Didn't the Thais push to get her qualified.
The Olympic committee obviously isn't FIFA.
-
it will takes more decades to change the habits.
Thais don't change behavioral habits. It indicates that they were doing something incorrectly in the first place. Impossible. They Thai. They perfect.

have some of my wifes workers doing the new veranda's around the house so we went away for a few days to let then do the dirty work of removing the original eaves. Got home and noticed that all my extremely expensive seedlings(100 x $5@)that were in a special tray in the carport well away form any work needed to be done was not where I had put it. Started looking around and finally found it down behind the stand it had been sitting on with all the seedlings lying on the ground dead or broken, they had not mentioned the fact they had done it too the mil who was home the whole time or even attempted to pick them back up. I went absolutely ballistic as there was several months of my time and effort as well as the money tied up in them and the wife told me there was no use getting upset as they will not care nor will they make restitution, she said she would pay me as they were her workers. The fact that thais refuse to accept any blame when they totally screw up let alone attempt to fix it amazes me, I still have no idea how they did this apart from there being a power point nearby they may have used but even then there were other things around the seedlings to stop anyone going near them, go figure.
Perhaps they did it to feel good because they hate what you are.
A farang.
Or just someone much better off, but they couldn't do it against a rich Thai as there would be repercussions.
There are no repercussions for doing something nasty against a farang.

Don't be surprised by the savagery.

"a small spacecraft, Philae, will leave comet-chasing Rosetta spacecraft for a landing on Comet C-G at about 3.35 pm (Thailand’s time) tomorrow."
So Philae leaves the Rosetta space craft at 3.35pm Thai time.
How long is the decent and landing time? I read some place that it will be a few hours as it will be done slowly.
I'm busy from 3:30-6:30pm tomorrow. Hope I don't miss it.

This coward should have been made to drown him self in a bath tub, just to give him a fraction
of the horrible feelings those young men and women had when they drowned...
Tied down as it starts to fill, slowly.
But hey, I suppose they're not in G-Mo.
Life sentence anyway, and I bet that South Korean prisons are run harshly.

I thought the Coconuts U-turn video more fun, watch the U-turn overpass.
The driver was unhurt, but note how many witnesses stopped to assist.
Thainess.
Very Buddhist.

The "as far as possible", could mean two things. It could simply mean that they have all the facts and consider they have no more to learn. It could also be a veiled reference to a lack of cooperation from the RTP in presenting all relevant information. I think we shall find out which in January.
It was declared that they will only be able to 'observe' the RTP investigation.
'As far as possible' is in reference to this, that they were not authorized to be involved in the investigation, or investigate the crime themselves, only observe the RTP investigation.
That must mean that they received a series of on site briefings from the Thai police regarding the investigation and explanations of what passes for 'due process' in Thailand but weren't allowed to do any investigation themselves and (horror of horrors) were certainly not allowed to take DNA samples for checking against what might be in the UK. They wouldn't have been able to interview any non-British witnesses independently, if at all. All the British witnesses to what happened immediately before and after the murders must have returned home and are available for interview. Sean McAnna is reportedly in Milan with Francesca Mussi and should be readily available for interview, if the plods care to take a budget flight to Milan, if they haven't already done so.
Looking back at the Kirsty Jones murder investigation, Welsh police who came out to Thailand to investigate were extremely tenacious and at one point announced a break through resulting in a a DNA match they made with skin cells on the sarong used to strangle Kirsty. (So they were allowed to take DNA samples and these were found on clothing, whereas in the KT murders no DNA was found anywhere except on two parts of Hannah's body and wasn't even found inside the condom apparently used to rape her.) However, the Welshmen's investigation soon got bogged down.
A letter to The Nation entitled, "If a Chiang Mai policeman killed Kirsty Jones, why not arrest and punish him?" probably summed up the Welsh police's frustration at the way Thai police started to impede the investigation when it got too close to their own ranks and vested interests for comfort.
Quickly summed up as: Thais always win in Thailand. They always protect Thais. They are in charge and you and your values mean nothing. Rape and murder, doesn't matter, they're Thainess (protect Thais at all cost) far out weighs it.

I think that the modern World has come on too soon for these people.
You can't go from 1000 years of buffalo and cart to a Modern city of 10 million cars, pick-up trucks that can do 200kph, and mini-vans that allow you to earn twice as much if you squash twice as many school children in then earn twice as much again if you go really fast and get back in time to do a second run, in one generation.
Besides, buffalo and carts were easy, these weird Western things, full of lights and sounds and buttons can go backwards if you select the wrong setting.
Too much, too soon.

It's almost as if it's best to give them nothing and treat them like sh!t. Just a like Thai boss will.
Yes. Thai Boss had to pay so many bribes to the upper echelons, he had precious little to pay his workers (me included).
He actually apologized to me once, saying "It cost him 'So Much' to get this contract" = He could only pay me 100,000 THB a month.
Am sure his workers (his so-called experts trained by me), only got 20,000 or so/month...All due to graft.
The Thai boss laid on the poor-me excuses as to why he couldn't pay you a proper salary, sincerely apologizing, damning the system that's robing you, and you believed it all and even felt for him.
They really are experts, aren't they.

This is bad to send them back without engine.
In 2008 they weren't 'sent back' without an engine.
They were towed out to sea, then set a drift without food, water, shelter, or any means of propulsion, in short, to drift to their death.
1000 men, women, and children.
This is the behavior of the Thais.
-
December 2008 all over again!
1000 men, women and children towed out to the middle of the ocean. Engines removed. Food and water removed. No shelter. Then helplessly set adrift to die.
Thank you Thai navy.
Shame.

Fully expected and respected. Some fool comes in waiing them and giving them stuff for free, then they wonder why they're being treated like a fool and walked all over.

Give an inch, they'll take everything they can. It's their birthright.

Only way this case will be properly solved:
UK authorities were able to get DNA samples from the bodies when they arrived back in the UK.
The UK authorities are given legal rights to take DNA samples from suspects in Thailand, whoever they decide they might be.
Dream time. Will never happen. the case will never be properly solved.

Many old men with small government pensions moved over here post TYG crisis. 70thb+ to the pound.
Now they are 10-15 years older and their pension, if they can still get it, has lost all the value it had, down to the high 40's for a few years while the CoL has doubled.

A blue Isuzu truck registered in Trang was signaled to stop but instead the driver accelerated and blasted through the check point at high speed.
Lt Suchart Leicha, accompanied by a subordinate, gave chase in a police pick-up.
Lt Suchart ordered his man to shoot out the tyres on the truck ahead but the shots missed, hitting the back of the truck.
So Lt Suchart sped up and slammed into the fleeing truck, ramming it off the road in front of Baan Phru Samphan Mosque. The blue truck took out two motorcycles but luckily only one of the riders was injured, and that lightly.

He might find himself in Thai prison until he learns to pass the attitude test.
Or if he really pushes his case with evidence against the RTP, the business end of a shotgun, with his reflection in a full faced helmet on a CBR150 being the last thing he ever sees.
I think the RTP would have more fun in just deporting him and watching him go mental.
