  1. this will be my only communication in respect of this garbage. Mt BO-meter is flickering too high.

So err.... "HalfLight" you want to judge the whole countries education system on the shoulders of a 19 year old Thai girls shirt?

No. Show me where I said that or gave you reasonable grounds for thinking it.

I never said I support the Thai education system, I'm saying it's wrong to judge the Thai Education System on such a thing and should be seen case by case.

Everything is one case at a time. If this were the only aberration of the Thai education system, I doubt anyone would have commented. What you are doing is the salami technique, and it won't wash.

It's not the end of the world. Well, hopefully not.

I don't know if it is or not. And I don't much care.

And please keep your BS to yourself instead of flinging it to me or other people. You're educated right?

I have an education, yes. If you think what I say is BS then you have an easy fix - don't read it. Go ahead, ruin my whole day by not reading any of my posts. I imagine I'll cope with the humiliation.

Then enlighten me please with the points of which I discarded that is so obviously the case to you.

Eh? What are you talking about Willis?

Maybe if you put it in writing we could all understand and make some good out of it.

I notice you use the words 'we' and 'all' to imply your opinion is widely shared, and I don't believe that for a moment. Genius is recognisable. The flip side is that so is stupidity. Tell me what *you* think or don't bother. Either way, I'm not really interested, my life won't change because you disagree with me.

I do hope you or someone is home to understand my point, "HalfLight" because you shouldn't just call BS on someone for nothing. Hope I haven't gone beyond any of your estimation points. Thanks!

No you don't. If you have a point to make, then make it. If you don't then go and find something else to do with your time. Your boredom and incompetence will not be my motivation, not today, not ever. Harsh? Sorry, but if you come in here and talk BS then you have to learn how to cope with people saying 'you're talking BS'.

Lesson 1 . If people keep telling you you're a being a dick then sooner or later you need to face up to the possibility that you're being a dick.

    Agreed.

  2. Actually on the Native American issue, you're wrong.
This is now very well taught. The Indian wars, symptomatic culling of the prairie bison herds to starve the Indians and the broken treaties, now is taught pretty well.
Both my daughters went through HS in the 90's, seen their books, it's all there
Sorry about that. I do apologise.

Which then triggers another can of worms which kinda really sucks.

So, I didn't know that they teach to such levels of detail.... but then why do they (i.e. American Government) hardly do anything to compensate or admit to realise even if they do know?

I feel like a total arse just for saying that.
You don't have to reply to that, I'm not even American.

I think eventually in the world there will be basically two types of people, "Dwellers" who will continue to keep bringing the past up and claim for things that occured, even stuff that occured even before they were born, and the "New Types" who may have a understanding of what happened in the past, but take it with a grain of salt as they have no direct connection other than Nationality etc (Religion.... erm yeah but that's another drum-can of worms I don't even want to touch) and think it's wrong to be judged by something they haven't done themselves, educated or not and expect other people to be the same, because that's how they feel.

I think this is where the BNK48 girl is.

Not sure how the Dwellers will survive as eventually the world will be full of New Types, so it's kind of a novelty.

Either way, the real root towards such problems, the "Government" will still exist and feed us more problems and other sh*t we really don't want or need.

Maybe eventually the Government will open up a bit and have the JFK assassination fully sussed out and put into a text book, or maybe the Japanese Government will write about Unit 731 and teach it in schools too, but let's not hold our breaths because all Governments are sh*t and corrupt to the teeth.

    So let's not fool ourselves.

It's not going to be "Where there's a Will, there's a Way" it will eventually be a Post Apocalyptic World "Where there's a Will, there's a Weapon" which will be used thoroughly and extensively.

Just knowing about certain things may not even matter by then, as long as it "Looks Cool" or "Has an Impact".

Anyway, once again sorry about not knowing they do teach certain things in detail, just now I wonder why they don't follow up or do anything about it then.

  3. This is such BS, In the estimation of people like you, the best way to feel good discarding what is obviously the case but which you don't think *should* be the case, is to accuse people who know better than you of 'Thai-bashing'. It's simplistic, naive, yuppie politically correct and plain wrong.

In my opinion you badly need to get a life, preferably an educated life. Get out and smell the roses. The Thai roses.

  4. Thais avoid teaching world war 2 because lets not forget which side they effectively were on......sweep that under the rising sun carpet
Probably because it causes "Inconvenience" to whatever era of Government.

Whether it's the English Education that doesn't talk or teach about the atrocities that were commited in the countries they conquered, or American Education that doesn't teach the things done to the Natives and still continuing to this day I would imagine not a single country has ever come clean or so forthcoming to be able to achieve innocence, so I would keep such topics in focus, unless you're a war veteran that has first hand experience of such.

But you're not, so you're just a troll or hater.

All Governments around the world are or have been doing atrocities and continue to do so, so there is no such thing where you can point a finger because they would have to be pointed everywhere at everyone, including your own.

Enjoy your position on a high horse which is basically morally lower than everyone else.

  5. Why even raise the price when you can just

    1. Tax the Rich

    2. Change Drug Laws for Cannabis and Medical Marijuana from Ilegal and Death Penalty Law to Decriminalize but with a Fine for Possession depending on amount, Tax on all Cannabis and Case-by-Case Rehabilitation Program aimed towards finding Individual Talents and Strengths along with Government funded Manufacturing and Study, Support Programs, New laws for Drug Free Zones or Areas, New Industries with use of Hemp.

    3. Create a Penalty System based on the persons Wealth or Inheritance and Social Status.

    4. Create a Government run Pharma company that will manufacture and provide the most basic medical necessities for cheap. and also CBD oils, edibles and sales of Space Cakes.

    5. Create schools to learn work for jobs at Nursing and Care facilities

    6. Run a government sponsored Cannabis Cup

  6. If the Investigation Officers were smart, they would check the "So called dead friend" and look for his Tax records of buying the Expensive watches, or even better get in contact with the Expensive Watch companies, and match the Registration Number, Date of Purchase and Who Actually Bought it.

If it's a Government looking into a potentially serious case of Abuse of Power and Insulting along with Search for Proof of Denial or Fact to the Public, You're Not asking a Swiss Bank, you're asking for the Registration along with Proof of Purchase, or even Maintenance Records to find out as they're Expensive enough to be taken to get serviced every 5~7 years.

Nah man, it should still be pretty f'ing far from over.

  7. The lack of clarity, depth and journalism of this article absolutely sucks.

If the reality is that Tourists can get insurance for 10 baht, the Expats living here in Thailand ought to be p*ssed-off.

10 baht!? 10 baht!!! for Insurance!!!

With the amount of clarity on who, how, why and where, I would probably feel better not knowing this piece of journalism.

    That is the level.

    If not, broderline fake-news.

    10 baht for insurance.

If it were 1000 thb I can somewhat understand, but 10 thb for insurance.

I would normaly complain by saying "I could get blown for that" but 10 thb..... C'mon. Just simply Stupid, or Mad.

It's a step in the right direction. They might want to look to Australia for ideas. I remember some Australian guy telling me that Australia's police force was historically corrupt but they introduced a package of measures (including salary increases) that mostly put an end to the corruption culture.

Although I do wish it worked that way, just look at America been given an example at Gun Control Laws.

Not only do they prove to the world they suck and are one of the most ignorant, hypocritical dos c..ts in the world, how could you consider Thai people would follow besides wishful thinking?

It just goes to show how few actually stop at zebra crossings. I may stop if there are no cars behind me. You know why.

    EXACTLY!!!

After seeing all those accidents from stupid drivers who don't know how to stop or even drive, gotta look behind your shoulders to stop ANYWHERE.

Also, why don't they take photos of motorcycles that DON'T STOP instead of people who do?

Thailand again is thinking Backwards.... <deleted>?

Army transfers colonel who gave middle finger to activists

    By THE NATION

THE ARMY has transferred a soldier from Payao’s Military Circle 34 who gestured with his middle finger to members of People Go Network.

Third Army Region Commander Lt-General Wijak Siribansop on Thursday signed an order to remove Colonel Thinnchat Suthirak, who was seen displaying his middle finger to People Go Network activists last Tuesday.

He was removed as head of the information division at Military Circle 34 and ordered to report to a new post at the Third Army Region immediately.

Meanwhile, an investigation committee has been set up to investigate the issue, which will issue a conclusion within three days as to whether Thinnchat had violated Army rules.

Thinnchat on Thursday also admitted that he had gestured with his middle finger to the activists and said he wanted to apologise them, as he had “not meant to be rude”.

He was seen in a video clip arguing with activists as they submitted a petition asking the governor of Payao province to end a lawsuit against residents of Ban Doi Thewada in Payao’s Phu Sang district. The residents allegedly had violated the political gathering ban enacted by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO).

He was then seen showing his middle finger to an activist. After the issue was reported in the media, Thinnchat claimed he had not intended to be rude and had just been innocently gesturing with his hand.

In the case against 10 People Go Network members from Ban Doi Thewada, the Thai Lawyers for Human Rights has reported that police had already withdrawn a detention order filed with Chiang Kham Provincial Court, as they had decided not to pursue the case.

However, the activists still have to wait to see whether prosecutors will proceed.

The activists were charged with violating the political gathering ban enacted by NCPO order 3/2558 and the Public Gathering Act for their activities showing support for the We Walk march last month, which was held to promote social, civic and political rights.

    Good.

Because "Being Honest" is about the least a person can do.

And when a  person with Authority cannot do that, they should be the ones who also need to be punished.

  11. What really hurts is in fact realizing something wrong, but not being able to react in time. Regret? Sure.

One could say "Evil prevails when good people fail to act". But it's kinda hard when it's not just that.

Thailand being one of the only countries having Les Mageste Laws, have other similar laws which exist which have nothing to do with the Royal Family in general, but almost equally effective at times is namely the more common "Puu Yai" laws.

In the Court of True Justice, there should be no bias or favour towards any side. But such Puu Yai Laws are dragged out in Any circumstance.

People generally think that "If it's a good deed, then it is fair" but such invisible boundaries and lines under a certain level of concensus need to be understood properly. And so many people just casually think of this, bend it to their liking and later expect it to be projected in real life.

Such Laws disguised under "Tradition" will hopefully disappear to a more universally accepted level.

Along with the skill to be able to read 2~3 steps ahead and if they could learn or master "Efficiency", then what a brilliant place this country could be.
