  1. It's been good while it's lasted.

I've been travelling in and out of Thailand for years on visa exempt stamps, and as a consequence never took much interest in visa minutiae. Seeing that this may no longer be possible in the near future I'd like to get the forums opinion on the best alternatives.

    My circumstances.

52 year old holder of 2 British passports. (For work reasons)

Married with a Thai wife and 3 dual nationality, Thai/British, children.

Engaged in freelance work outside Thailand for periods between 1 day and 63 days.

Return to Thailand between work assignments for periods between 1 day and 45 days.

    Seasoned money in the bank.

My preference for any alternative would be to be able to do all the paperwork required at my local immigration office, Sri Racha, Chonburi, but if that's not possible it's not a biggie.

In the meantime, while it does last, I will continue to use the visa exempt option, alternating passports as much as I can - and the board may be interested to note that I returned recently, through DM, from a 2 day trip to Singapore and got a 30 day visa exempt stamp, in a passport with dozens of similar stamps, without an issue - but I think it wise to plan alternatives.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

  2. I have the opportunity of some offshore work in Brazil in a couple of months.

Does anybody know if it is possible for a British passport holder to get a Brazilian work visa thru the Brazilian Embassy in Bangkok?

Or do I have to go back to the UK to get it done?

  3. No technical reason other than the signal loss over a long cable run.

Well I was thinking more along the lines of connecting the 2nd receiver to it own dish if there does not have to be a cable connection between the two receivers. I'd carry out this mod myself after the Tech's have gone.

  4. I currently have the True Vision Gold package and may need to subscribe to the same service at a second location.

With the True Vision Gold package an additional service point (ASP) costs 282.48 Baht/month on top of the 1413 Baht for the 1st service point (according to their site). I guess that gets you an additional receiver for each ASP.

I presume additional service points are intended to be in the same residence but is there any technical reason why the ASP's cannot be in a different location as long as they are hooked up to the correct dish and LNB.

  5. We used to enjoy those Zurich breakfast sausages as well. We have not had them for a while, can't remember why we stopped buying them. Anyway we used to buy them in 1kg bags in Foodland and SS Naklua.

I'm going to SS tomorrow to get some smoked pork loin so will inquire what the story is with the sausages.
