  1. I switched from using an agent to my own extension at CW in January. So long as the financials were in order there was no real issue, i had over 800k in the Thai account in my name for a full 12 months. They did ask whether I had come with anyone to do the extension (presumably asking was I with an agent) I said no but they asked had I come with someone the previous year to which I said yes. That was it. Everything was fine and I obtained the extension despite having used agents and having extensions from a range of different remote provinces! I had a TM30 with my Bangkok address in the system

I did this some years back, the IO checked where my non O visa was issued and looked for a corresponding TM30

i had to do a TM30 during last year and paid the 2000 baht fine but that put my correct Bangkok address into the system and so that along with the 90 day reports all lined up for my Bkk address before doing this year's extension. One of my previous extensions was done in Nan, a province I had never heard of let alone visited lol.

When did this happen? Last I heard many years ago was that physical presence was required for photo, but all the other details, or lack thereof to be more precise, were the same. Wasn't hand holding.

I tried a number of agents last year where I specified that I wanted it done at CW. Only one agent was able to do it all the others were only able to secure the extension at provincial offices. So last year I went with the agent to CW (I did not provide any financials) but had a photo taken in CW and the agent handled everything else. The previous extension had been done in Kalasin.

  4. I called Bangkok Bank and they said that they can generate a 12-month statement which would be sent as an email - although I would still need to request at a branch in person but with the e-statement sent within 1 working day - does anyone know if this form of statement is accepted at CW or does it need to be a paper statement actually printed by the bank (in which will take 3 to 5 working days). Hoping the former is sufficient but.....

  5. So just to clarify. The bank letter can be up to 7 days before the appointment and can be ordered at any (in my case Bangkok Bank) but that may involve some time for it to be issued and payment for that is 100.  A further statement showing all transactions for the previous 12 months is a separate requirement, and again ordered at the branch? The bank book should be updated on the date of the appointment for the extension? Would the Bangkok Bank at CW be able to handle all of these requirements "on the spot" if I went there sufficiently prior to the appointment time? Many thanks.

That's a bonus as you have met the financial requirements that that io will check when you apply for next extension.

It's unusual that the stamps using agent would have been issued at CW.

Assume that your 90 day reports have been done with CW immigration.

    Think it's possible.

You can apply for extension at CW 45 days early and suggest try that and worst case plan B would then be border run and visa exempt entry and apply for non O and subsequent extension.

Thank you. Very useful advice. I will apply early and see how things pan out. You are spot on that getting it done by an agent at CW was not easy. Only one was able to assist me the rest were going to be places I have hardly heard off let alone visited such as stamps issued in Nan and Yasothon! I know that the stamp was definitely issued there as I had to go to CW in person with the agent for photos etc.

  7. I have used agents to secure extensions but am thinking about doing it myself this time. Have had >800k in a Thai account in my name for the entire year. My last extension through an agent was at CW. Has anyone had any experience of switching from using an agent to doing it personally? Any issues with the IO at CW wanting to not provide such extensions? My TM30 and 90-day reports are all up to date. Any experiences particularly at CW would be most welcome.

Normally quickly processed. Bur submitted 21/11 and still pending. I submitted 15 days beforehand so hopefully have a chance to resubmit online if rejected in sufficient time before due date. But from the above posts it does look like there is a backlog.

UPDATE: Was sent approval at 19.00 on Friday 25/11 following online submission on 21/11 (Bangkok Division). So a slight backlog which they seem to be getting through.

I did something similar, submitted on the 14th. Nothing by the 21st so tried resubmitting. Until now no response at all either way and still showing pending. It's due tomorrow so looks like I'll end up having to go in person next week.

Thanks KhaoNiaw for that info - at least it seems to be on their side that it is backlogged.

  10. At MTT it was possible to book the appointment in advance, now that the 90 day reporting has moved back to Chaengwattana is this still possible? I tried the link that Udonjoe kindly provided but that no longer seems to work - any advice, please? also any recent experience on average wait times in the afternoon at CW? Many thanks.

PS I was told I would have to go in person and not to use the reporting systemas as they needed a new TM30 hardcopy submitted in person.

  11. Having tried a second time I have been rejected again - so I will do it in person as kindly indicated by some posters that as this is my first report in Bangkok (previously my reports were in the provinces) and it needs to be done in person before one can use the online service - a couple of quick questions I am on a non-inn O extension retirement - do I go to Chaeng Wattana or MTT? Any indication of avr time - should I plan that I might be there for most of the day or are reports quickly processed - any recent experiences - finally aside from the completed TM47 and passport are there any other documents I need to bring - previous 90 day report from Kalasin? tenancy agreement? Many thanks

When I was first rejected  on the new system in early December I resubmitted same day of rejection and about 6 days later the resubmission was rejected also without reason just like the first one.  But as I mentioned in my earlier post after looking in the older extranet system today  which also showed reports from the new system, the extranet system indicated the reason for rejection was "No Data" which I assume to be on the immigration end because my submission had all data required.

So, you can indeed resubmit but resubmitting without knowing what caused the previous rejection will probably just result in rejection again especially if your submission is perfect and your resubmission is a duplicate perfect submission again.  If that perfect data doesn't agree with the data immigration has loaded in their system then immigration will just reject.

At the bottom is a quote from the new system's user guide where it says a report will be rejected.  One reason is if submitting a duplicate report report within 3 days using the same info while the first report is still pending.  I'm not sure if that means don't submit another report while another one is still in Pending status......or it means you can submit a duplicate request if providing different/updated/correct info and you assume the first submission will be rejected.

Would recommend you go to the older extranet system, looked up your rejected submission since submissions on the new system will also appear in the extranet system and see what the Remarks say regarding reason for rejection.  If it says No Info Found or something similar that implies to me the problem is on the immigration end and a person could resubmit over and over and be rejected over and over until immigration loads your info in their new system which is probably going to require an in-person report.

Thanks, Pib. Indeed, the remark was the same as yours - namely "No data". So, it seems that unfortunately a trip to CW will be needed. Many thanks for sharing your experience. I might try one more time online just in case there was a glitch.

Good info indeed regarding looking at the older extranet system to see if reason for rejection on the new system is shown.

Now I never was able to submit a report on the older systems like extranet system as after entering the first page of data and hitting submit I would just get a message along the lines of "I need to visit my immigration office."   Got the same message on many tries over numerous years.   But on the new system I could submit a report except the first two submissions were both rejected days later with no reason given...and the new system does not show the reason for rejection like the older extranet system.

So, since I never could submit a report on the older extranet system I wondered if my three reports submitted on the new system (i.e, first 2 rejected and 3rd approved) would really show-up on the older system like you said above....and have some remarks as to why the first two were rejected.  Even when reading your post my thought-train was the two systems maybe didn't interface with each other.

But sure enough they do interface as I just went to the older extranet system, searched for my reports and the three reports I had submitted on the new system showed up....only those three...no others since I never was able to submit a report on the older system.

Anyway, those first two reports which were rejected did have a remarks in Thai which translated to "No Info" and No Information Found."   I guess that means immigration had no info in their system to compare/buck-against my submission to as my reports included all the requested info.

And my 3rd report (completed with the exact same info as the previous rejected reports) which was approved didn't have any remarks.   I guess CW/MTT "found my data/got it entered" from my last mail-in report I did after the first 2 rejections and that's why my recent 3rd submission was approved.   As I mentioned earlier I did go to CW/MTT after the first 2 rejections to do a report, but MTT wouldn't accept my in-person report because their system showed my mail-in report had just been approved a few hours earlier.

Really something a person can find out the reason for rejection from the new system by looking for the reason on the older system.  Or said another, don't look where it should be; instead, look in this other place.    I guess they haven't figured out or want to show Remarks/Reason for Rejection on the new system....hopefully that will change.

did you repeat applying online for the same 90 day period report? the question i have is having been rejected once can one reapply online for that same 90 day report date?

I got rejected using the new system.

UbonJoe suggested this, it worked for me.

Go to the OLD system, https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn90online/online/tm47/TM47Action.do

Check the Status of your application (green box)

    Passport Information tab

    Enter your details

Look for the rejected (Not approved) filing you just made, should be the top-most entry, click on View, scroll down to the field Approve's Remark (ADMIN)

There may be an explanation for the rejection, in thai or english.

Mine was ไม่มีเลขห้อง, No Room Number, refiled on the NEW system added room number (I had used Apt n? instead of Room n/N), was approved. CW.

Thank you for that, really useful - I looked on the old system under remarks and it says ไม่พบข้อมูล - No data - it shows that my permission to stay expires next year etc....So I think maybe I have to do the first one in person - anyone else get such a remark??

  15. Any advice/experiences on what to do if rejected - can one try to submit again through the online system or does it require going to CW to sort out? Tks. This was my first 90 report in Bangkok - previous were at a provincial office when based there but I obtained the retirement extension recently at CW (having moved back to Bangkok) and the TM30 had been submitted from my Bangkok condo in advance and no problem with getting the extension in CW.

Maybe 10 baht was the the straw that broke the camel's back. May have been at the back end of a day that kept going wrong for him. Under normal circumstances you wouldn't think he'd bother with all the rigmarole.

Yes. Very true, sometimes it is not the event by the accumulation of events over a day that can just tip one over. But, in those circumstances holding off is the best strategy. I have discovered that GRAB private car (not taxi) and when really fraught the premium car service is well worth it. I used to begrudge the extra cost but have come to treasure having a really nice vehicle with a considerate driver rather than arriving at my destination utterly frazzled and out of sorts. So, I will hold off judgement about this chap - whether it is true that he has a reputation of meanness or whether that was a bit of journalistic license I will leave to the side.

But I wholeheartedly agree that over such a trivial sum, when many Thai are at the end of their tether, is just a silly thing to do. No furlough scheme or social security benefits that amount to anything. I am more surprised that that they are still holding it together. But it is a distinctly a pressure cooker here that has in the past and can again explode, and for a long-term resident such as this chap he should have understood that. As to running to the police here - silly <deleted>!

Sinovac does seem to provide much less Covid protection than the mRNA vaccines (I'm not sure that AZ is all that much better than Sinovac). That said, I opted for Sinovac because I have a vestibular disorder and Pfizer and Moderna were causing problems, some severe, with people with my condition.

You at least took a considered opinion about what was best for you. Hopefully as more data becomes available you will be able to continue to access vaccines that are suitable for your particular medical comorbidities. One small quibble, is that AZ has demonstrably higher efficacy in real world studies. That however does NOT negate from the possibility that an vaccine such as Sinovac might well be optimal for some sub-populations. I wish you well.
