  1. I have sold my HONDA CRV 8 months ago to another foreigner living 800 km away via Facebook using more or less the same procedure. The guy was legitimately willing to see all the docs in advance before coming to see and test the car which was absolutely fine with me. We had several discussion over the phone as well to fine tune all the details. The transaction was made without any problem.
  2. In daily life Thai women always have to prove they are three times better than Thai men. Fortunately for them it's pretty easy....
  3. The annual sea snake is back again and again......... Amazing Thailand
  4. Maybe Nordic is operating back...........
  5. when reading that I just thought the OP got married with Pinocchio ....😁
  6. And the farce continues. ''The commedia dell'arte '' 'was surely invented in Thailand.
  7. it's amazing to see them whining when times are tough but never saying anything when they full their pockets.... Economy and businesses are facing periodic ups and downs due to several reasons or events. It's part of the risk. Keep money aside when times are good and reinvent yourselves when times are more difficult. Business as usual has never been a winning strategy in a fast moving world. it would be time for the Thai leaders to get out of "Thailand is the epicenter of the World''. Face realities instead of looking away and find fake excuses for anything happening.'' Break failure'' doesn't explain everything.......
  8. This can also be the result of swimming in a pool very recently treated with copper sulfate against algae.......
  9. @ Arick Sounds like we didn't have the same experience. I had to do it recently for visas and apart of the regular papers they ask for, passport, TM 30 , visa extension entry card, they asked for a letter from our agent taking care of the visas saying why we needed these criminal records.. We met two different officers who were speaking enough English , courteous, and we received our documents by mail 3 weeks later, although it could have been taken from their office sooner.( but I wasn't on hurry and didn't want to drive again 400 km back and forth) I agree on the fact it's impossible to park a car there and finding the right building isn't simple. So it wasn't as bad as you describe it. Maybe we have been lucky
  10. Looks like the battle of two skinheads for a comb....
  11. It s not reserved to small individual businesses. Many times when I'm in front of a national chain store during the rush hours, i mean huge ones with huge assets in building, land, energy needs, inventory etc... and the over staffing most of the time incompetent they have, and I'm considering the number of cars of supposed customers) on the parking lot my first question is ; what the hell could be the profitability of such a business..
  12. Golden anniversary became golden Staphylococcus ( more than probably) Then four operations for a tonsillectomy ???????? Well I have my doubts ...
  13. I didn't think they would need to do a "Crack down" on something which is basically their day to day job....... looking at their faces they seem particularly convinced by whom they are listening to .......
  14. All this system was initially developed to oblige the Thai citizens having revenue abroad to declare it and pay tax on it. That was a fair move looking at the very low number of tax payers in Thailand. Nevertheless the real rich have organized themselves via foreign companies or financial arrangement and they will pay ZERO additional tax. We, long term expats will be the collateral damages of this law. Based upon what I could identify with my tax consultant, I will pay 2.5 times more tax than in my mother country. Although there is a no double taxing agreement with my country of origin, I will have to pay my full tax in advance here and HOPE to be reimbursed of the difference by the RD. I say I'm hoping because after 10 years in Thailand I know how easy they are with getting the money and how difficult they also are to give it back. So I expect an administrative nightmare and never ending battles to get my money back. I just believe this law will be voted and enforced via two easy control ways. Immigration with visas and exiting the country only if you have a tax declaration, law which already exists and could be applied in one day. We already had the insurance on OA visas, the forthcoming one on O visas, the visa types revision this year end etc...etc....This without speaking about the various costs in tax advisors, attorneys etc etc...No way to spend a fortune living in two countries for 6 months or any other headache... I have worked hard to get what I have and there is no way to have a never ending Damocles sword over my head asking myself what will be the next hurdles in whatever. I love Thailand but I above all love my retirement peace of mind. So my decision is made, I will leave the country soon. I'm just sorry for the people who have families there or cannot afford changing country, they will be the real victim of an idiot system thought by idiot people. And all this for not getting a single additional right in exchange... It wont change the world for Thailand but you will not get a single penny from me anymore.
  15. check Internet and look at ETIAS , you will have more information on what s going on applicable mid 2025.You will better understand the ETA .......and why it s gonna be free of charge until mid 2025...... go , figure out..... I would bet the price will be 300 THB ....you remember the recent flip flop sea snake..... 16. the day they will be able to dig the right size hole, put into it the right size fisher and the right size screw to fix my shower properly, this day only I will start to believe Thailand is a ''technical hub"
  17. And taxing long term residents will surely help the recovery........
  18. And during that time, authorities didn't find a single one in Pattaya .............
  19. Hello, Most of the water heaters have 2 reset buttons. One is the electrical safety which is generally located outside of the box underneath. Just press it, it's absolutely safe ( avoid being barefoot into a wet shower) The second one is the overheating safety. This one is again generally located above the boiler. It's a very tiny almost invisible little button. In this case, wear gloves, isolate yourself from ground and just press on it...job done your boiler should be operational again.
  20. My miss is so phone addict that, every time we get out with the car, I ask her to film the road. The only way I found to save some money by not buying a dash cam...................
  21. just add the Beach Boys song "good vibrations" to her Spotify playlist .....
  22. To make a long story short about the difference between Jomtien in the 90s and Jomtien in 2024, imagine a jungle and lake location on which they dropped millions of tons of concrete and rebars to build rabbits cages called 'luxury condominiums' ....... and snakes replaced by rats.....For those who where there in the 90s I remember with nostalgia the good time spent at the Tarzan Hut ......
  23. TAT statements are much easier to predict than the number of real tourists......
  24. I'm really expecting a 90 day report..... This one could be useful....
  25. THIS ARE THE REQUIREMENTS OF JOMTIEN IMMIGRATION OFFICE NOW
