  1. If you know of a cheaper way to do it, I am ready for that information. I would even settle for the same price. I am on a budget, due to school costs.

If you have the number of a place that charges the same or less, please list it.

My google searches only tend to take me to people's blogs about their trips. THey don't tend to give me any relavent information.

  2. If I take the 250 baht package to siem reap, but get off in poipet, can I get a good price to go back to Bangkok?

I am going to pay 250 to a travel place on khaosan road. I plan to skip the second half of the trip and just go back across the border.

I am worried that I won't be able to find a good travel group to get me back.

If anyone has any info, I would greatly appreciate it.

PS: Can they force me to go all the way to siem reap?

  3. Last year, I had a double entry tourist visa. I used one extension last year and the second extension this year. I went to Cambodia for a week. I then came back on a 30 day exemption. I know I can get the 30 day extension, based on being a G7 nation.

Someone told me that you can only get 2 extensions per year. Being that my first extension was technically late last year and the second a few months later into 2015, am I likely to be denied an extension for my exemption on arrival? (possibly wasting my time and money?)

  4. You can do a conversion to a 90 day non immigrant visa entry from a tourist visa or visa exempt entry based upon qualifying for an extension of stay for retirement. You need to 800k baht in a Thai bank or proof of 65k baht income or a combination of the the 2 totaling 800k baht.

The during the last 30 days of the 90 entry you can apply for an extension of stay based upon retirement showing the same financial requirements. But the money will need to be in the bank for 60 days.

You can do this while in country at any immigration office? If I use the option showing proof of income, rather than the 800k, will I still need to save money to make that requirement at a later date?

I am a US citizen. If I don't get my background check etc. completed in the states, how would I go about doing it in THailand?

  5. I was actually going with a 3 entry tourist visa. Was trying to find the best way to go to lower costs on entry visas ( don't want to buy a 30 day visa to stay 1 day or less).

I only have a single tourist visa from May to July on my passport. That was the only time I have ever gone outside the US.

I intend to vacation in Koh Samui up until march, and then go to the Thongsook college in Bangkok, after applying for a ed visa. I signed up a lil while back and got my acceptance letter. I just have to pay.

When I said "don't want to buy a 30 day visa", I meant that I was looking for the cheapest option, a.k.a. exempt entry, rather than full price visa to another country. I could see where you would be confused by that part.

    I said:

    1. I will have a 3 entry tourist visa to thailand. I intend to use this until march for vacationing.

    2. After doing that, I intend to get a ed visa. (this is a completely seperate matter from #1) This is to tell you my reasoning for the extra entry visa.

    3. I am looking for my cheapest, safest option.

    4. I have only been to thailand once on a 60 day visa. THis was from may to July. I am now back home in the U.S. I intend to return to Thailand sometime late September.

I should have put it a bit more coherent, but I have been scattered lately. A lot going on.

  7. 1.  When I go to help him get a background check, what should I ask for?   (Just a criminal background check?)

    2.  Proof of income:  He makes over $2200 a month.  Can I get a proof of income from his social security department?  Will this suffice?

    3.  After I mail everything to CHicago, how long will it take?  I would like to know how early we need to mail this stuff off before setting up the trip.

    4.  He intends to stay on Koh Samui.  Is there a immigration department near lamai that he can do his 90 day reports to?

  8. 1. How would you rate the work load (from 1- too easy to 10- overloaded)?

    2. Do you take tests like any normal college class? What are those like?

    3. Is Thongsook out in the boonies or is it near necessary things if you plan to live near the school?

    4. I have read that the classes are roughly 8 hours per day, 5 days a week for up to 10 weeks. Is this hard on you?

    5. What kind of learning do you actually do for 8 hours a day in school? (sorry, I just can't imagine a 8 hour school day for college. Just curious)

I look forward to reading the replies. Thanks :)

  9. There are two expiration dates you have to keep track of.

A double entry tourist visa usually is good for use for six months after it is issued. If you want to make use of the second entry, you must exit and re-enter Thailand before the "use by" or expiration date printed on the visa you obtained at an embassy or consulate outside of Thailand.

When you enter Thailand at an airport or border the first time, you get a stamp showing how long you are permitted to stay in the Kingdom on this entry. 60 days for a tourist visa. You have to watch this date and apply for the 30 day extension or leave the country by that date. If you get a 30 day extension, you must then leave the country on or before this date on the second permission stamp in your passport.

So you must exit the country before the extension of your permission to stay runs out and you must come back into Thailand before the visa expires.

Once you make the second entry on a double entry visa, it is dead and used up and its expiration date is meaningless. Then the only date you need to concern yourself with is the latest permission to stay stamp and, if you apply for an extension, the subsequent extension of stay stamp, by which time you must leave.

Now for all the people who give wrong advise: DONT DO THIS ! if you dont know!

you must reenter Thaiiland not after 90 days after your double entry tourist Visa was issud, this date is clear on your Visa!

on a triple entry it is 180 days

I was under the impression that you could get a 30 day extension added to each entry of your multi entry visa. Someone told me it would be upwards of 270 days total for a triple entry visa. Is this false information?
