  1. He is claiming he was threatened because it is a safe way off the island if he tells the media.

The threat that he alleges is too detailed for an average farang/uneducated or even averagely educated thai to be understood as fully as he describes.

If the Thai mafia guys wanted to hang him then they would have just done it. Why on earth just threaten to kill him instead of just doing it -what is the point?

I smell BS and he should be held and questioned further.

  2. I have used this service a few times for 2000 baht.

    http://quickthaivisa.webs.com/contactus.htm

They leave from ekkami near the BTS (inside the coffee shop/restaurant on the corner closest to the BTS station) at 9:30am and get back around 8:00pm (as I remember) and they use a proper bus rather than a minibus. They were driving to the Cambodian border but last time I used them they went to the Burmese border near kanchanaburi but they both took about the same time.

The thai guy that runs it is helpful and speaks pretty much fluent english.

  3. I have done this a few times using the early 6am nok air flight.

There is a minibus service at the airport which takes you to the friendship bridge (150baht I think and about 45mins). Getting through immigration at the bridge can take about an hour.

Once through, there are loads of taxis which will take you to the embassy for 300-400baht (taking about 45 mins from memory).

Once at the embassy I have typically waited for 1-2 hours before being called to submit the application.

Next day I normally arrive about 12 to half past, and it has usually taken me about an hour to pick passport up.

There are minibuses wating outside embassy to take you to the bridge (100-200baht I think)

Getting back accross the bridge is a bit quicker coming back. Once back in Thailand, getting from the bridge to Udon there are minibuses that take you back but not so obvious, thres a seated waitng area so ask around there. I have used the nok air minibus and paid the driver 150baht.

I have flown back on the 5pm flight and that was perfect timing but there is another flight at 6:35pm to play safe, but I would say definately get the 6am flight going there.

  4. I am on my 3rd back to back 60 day double entry tourist visa all from Vientiane. On my third visa they stamped it in blue ink - Proofs of residence and financial income are required next time. They staple an explanatary note in your passport too but I lost that.

I also met someone at Vientiane embassy last year who had just got her third visa and she got that stamp too.

  5. I am currently on a 60 day double entry tourist visa but am now involved in a September court case for the divorce of my Thai wife. Being involved in a court case appears to qualify me to apply for a Non Immigrant O visa.

With the current issues of tourist visas, I thought it may be a sensible move to try and get my current tourist visa changed to a non-immigrant O visa if I can.

I notice that someone on this forum recently reported successfully using the MT.86 form which is used for changing Visa type to get a tourist visa changed to a Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage at Chaengwattana, Bangkok. (http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/192826-tm-86-application-for-change-of-visa/). The form looks valid for general visa changes so I think I should eb able to use that together with my court documentation.

So does anyone have experience of getting a Non Immigrant visa for attending a court case and/or using the TM86 form. Or do I have to try to get it at a neigbouring country or maybe wont be able to get one at all

    Any known issues with this?

    Thak you in advance.

  6. Thank you UbonJoe,

My other option is to go to immigration and apply for a Non O on the basis that I am going through a divorce here in Bangkok. That would get me 90 days I think, which is extendable I think?

I have all the documents, have a court hearing date  on 2 September to present them with.

Not sure if anyone has any experience of that.

  7. Since losing my job last year my non-imm O visa was voided. I did a quick border which gave me 15days here and then flew to vientiane to get a double entry 60 day visa.

I have since been to Vientiane twice to get double entry tourist visas and I am now currently on the first entry of my 3rd consecutive double entry tourist visa.

To activate the second entry of each tourist visa I did in/out border runs. So while there are no consecutive in/out border runs, there are 3 there in my passport now; 1 when I lost my job and then 2 further which were used to activate second entries on the double entry tourist visas.

I also extended the each 60 day visa by 30 days by visiting immigration in Bangkok.

I now want to activate the second entry of my current double entry 60 day tourist visa.

Any problems envisaged with that or any advice woudl be appreciated.
