Perhaps on the way into Thailand, and sleeping in the baggage area?
You ever have a delayed flight or cancellation?

Welcome to friendly Thailand. How will they bring sex toys now?
Don't need to bring them when Lazada will deliver them to your door step. ????

Nah.. I'm from Los Angeles. Cops here are passive and the perpetrators are handled with kit gloves. Child's play. If you know anything about police in Los Angeles, or any other place you mentioned of forgot to mention, you know someone is dead and if they lucky to survive multiple rounds they get beaten half to death or to death on the way. They try to prevent overcrowding in their jails anyway they can...

So they legalised dual pricing for big hospital and big pharma instead of getting rid of it. Looks like my noodles will be going up as well. But you'll get to go to Wat Pho at the same price as Thai (free) right?

There seems to be people thinking up different scenarios regarding TM 30.

It's not a good idea to think too much when in LOS. They will always come up with something to stuff up one's day. All one can do is prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
Just enjoy the bit between the entry stamp and the exit stamp.
Yeah.. I've been living in Thailand years now and probably should have stayed visiting paradise. ????

Unless it's changed if one is AT the airport and overstayed just go to the overstay office and pay. They never used to give a damn. It was only if the cops got one before the airport that it became a problem with jail and such.
Who is going to sleep in the airport with more than one day overstay anyway? That's very bad planning.
I agree with you and yes they didn't give a damn as you said but then again they never before gave a damn about TM30 but now they do.

I stand accuse of over thinking, but as you know what is said by immigration and what is actually practiced are sometimes strange bed fellows. Therefore, my brain goes on tilt.

But if the traveller sleeping downstairs pre immigration at Suwanabhumi is a few days overstay wouldn't that prompt a review of TM30 where you stayed in Thailand when immigration sees your overstay? Then in that review your whereabouts don't match with their records. Just asking this because occasionally we read stories, in the news, of travelers being fined for not staying where they reported because a review of their accommodations revealed the landlord or hotel or both failed to report them.

Yes and no.
TM.30 is a report to advise immigration that you are staying at an address. If you sleep on the beach, or the floor of an airport it’s not required!
Cool!

Many times I have checked out of my hotel and went to Suwanabhumi Airport and literally spent the night waiting for my flight to USA. I have met other travellers doing the same and some have spent a couple of days at the airport because of delayed or cancelled flights. Am I right to assume that there isn't a TM30 issue if I'm thru immigration already and a potential problem if I'm not?

And the Chinese? Are their Air Bnb landlords reporting all their returns from the provinces they visit? Or is this just a farang thingy?

So in essence, they want the majority of expats who are retired elderly expats, living on fixed income and other expats to foot the bill for the tourists who come here and for whatever reasons require medical treatment and leave without settling their bill either by returning home or exiting life. In other words, having The Few pay for The Many.

The Euro isn't doing to well either, QE is expected in Euroland and more rate reductions, sign of the times to come.
Yeah I used that Chinese exchanged back in 1999. Then it was just a door.. No sign black market.

Well, last year I went to Phuket and it was 1 dollar = 32.8. That's a big drop to today's exchange rate of 30.8. So the pound is feeling the pinch even more with the brexit mayhem.

'Visa free' they may ask. But never in my experience. I always have about the equivalent of 30,000baht In a mixture of baht, US and Aussie dollars (for other reasons not related to Thai immigration). Never been asked to show cash. Not once. Ever.
Me either. In Thailand they tend to judge you by your appearance. Normally I'm in a nice business suit. Get a smile, stamped and go.

For those who have gotten a visa for Thailand from their home country they should be allowed to enter without showing cash because the submitted financial proof in order to get the visa. For visa free stamp they will ask for 20k. But to help those who do have access to fund, they should put atms on the arrival side before you get to immigration. If they want you to show then you can access funds.

All I can say is get on with living courageously and don't fear death. I see my life as an endless straight line into eternity. Death will have to catch my ass and then sucker punch me. I'm not surrendering. It seems like a lot of people are suffering trying to find a way not to suffer so much in the end. When that time comes just spend every last painful second with someone, anyone and the pain won't hurt as much.

It finally happened! Denied entry at BKK on METV
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
He did the right thing opting to return home because the 100 dollar bribe comes with no guarantees. The "On The Take Immigration" said he could come in the next day.. What that officer was trying to do was see if he had more funds by making him jump thru some hoops. When he said he wanted to go home he was denied for not having enough money. (Thai thinking) But with passport was all stamped up another immigration probably did the booking of the return ticket. Once that ball was rolling he was sure to be deported, although they saw he had funds for a return ticket they didn't reverse course because that would constitute 'Sia Na' Actually, to be safe, he should have had proof of moneys for the length of stay granted by the METV. 20k baht per 30 days.
But with that said, you must remember that, immigration can deny you just because they want to for no reason. It's up to the immigration officer. And yes there needs to be international exposure to this and their racist practices. The Land of Smile hasn't lived up to its billing since September 2006.
