Perhaps on the way into Thailand, and sleeping in the baggage area?
You ever have a delayed flight or cancellation?

So they legalised dual pricing for big hospital and big pharma instead of getting rid of it. Looks like my noodles will be going up as well. But you'll get to go to Wat Pho at the same price as Thai (free) right?

There seems to be people thinking up different scenarios regarding TM 30.

train from Chiang Mai to Bangkok....do I need a TM 30 off the train driver ????

It's not a good idea to think too much when in LOS. They will always come up with something to stuff up one's day. All one can do is prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
Just enjoy the bit between the entry stamp and the exit stamp.
Yeah.. I've been living in Thailand years now and probably should have stayed visiting paradise. ????

Unless it's changed if one is AT the airport and overstayed just go to the overstay office and pay. They never used to give a damn. It was only if the cops got one before the airport that it became a problem with jail and such.
Who is going to sleep in the airport with more than one day overstay anyway? That's very bad planning.
I agree with you and yes they didn't give a damn as you said but then again they never before gave a damn about TM30 but now they do.

This is getting crazy. When one is leaving why would TM 30 be a consideration, and if one returns, TM 30 starts again the following day.
Seems that some people think too much about things that are not even their responsibility.
I stand accuse of over thinking, but as you know what is said by immigration and what is actually practiced are sometimes strange bed fellows. Therefore, my brain goes on tilt.

But if the traveller sleeping downstairs pre immigration at Suwanabhumi is a few days overstay wouldn't that prompt a review of TM30 where you stayed in Thailand when immigration sees your overstay? Then in that review your whereabouts don't match with their records. Just asking this because occasionally we read stories, in the news, of travelers being fined for not staying where they reported because a review of their accommodations revealed the landlord or hotel or both failed to report them.

Yes and no.
TM.30 is a report to advise immigration that you are staying at an address. If you sleep on the beach, or the floor of an airport it’s not required!
Cool!

Many times I have checked out of my hotel and went to Suwanabhumi Airport and literally spent the night waiting for my flight to USA. I have met other travellers doing the same and some have spent a couple of days at the airport because of delayed or cancelled flights. Am I right to assume that there isn't a TM30 issue if I'm thru immigration already and a potential problem if I'm not?

Don't worry they will get the Chinese and all countries back when Pattaya is turn into the next gambling destination, for the Chinese, like Sihanoukville has become. Pattaya has a port too that China would like to have troops near. Then that visa will be easier to get also. If not look for them extra long immigration lines.

nothing wrong with the aussie army, I served for several years and enjoyed it. From what I have seen here it is no where near as good with very questionable service as to what you are made to do. Also the rate of pay will be a lot better there than here but it is entirely up to you, get you thai citizenship and go for it if thats what you want.
I learn something new today! I didn't know Australia has an army. ????

You would think if a country wants you to stay they would have a way for all levels of income and rules that are less confusing. But...

Elite Visa: you PAY 500k for 5 year
Extension: you DEPOSIT 800k for as long as you stay
Unsure I would chose the PAY option...
Yup... Depends on how you view it. I avoid stress as much as possible. It may not be a viable option for some but for me it's the most comfortable.

Take 500k baht and buy Thai Elite 5 year visa and relax. Better than being their circus dog and jumping thru flaming hoops. 2 months before. 3 months after. 800k baht. Only can take out half. 65k minimum. Lol! Jump dog jump! Buy the Thai Elite and experience true paradise. https://www.thailandelite.com/?locate=en

Banks can give loans to Thais with jobs to spend in buying houses, cars. Another way to use foreign money to lift up native middle class. Tourist will be enough to life up the other sector of economy like by buying in malls, restaurants, tour tickets, etc.
Oh please don't forget the increase in atm fees for foreigners. 220 baht a transaction helps those banks.

Just the same as the foreigner database, promised 'within six months', and now five months overdue with not a whisper from Prawit who promised it, or anyone in immigration.
Normal sort of a bullshit day really:

Farang may never see an e-visa and foreigner doesn't necessarily mean westerners. But when it comes to their Cash Cow Chinese (CCCs) you can bet your bottom dollar it will be up and running because if not the Chinese will make dependent Thailand pay a heavy price by simply cancelling bookings.

Do as the locals do and take his information and make a police report at the police station for your area. That's all you can do. I refuse to be scammed out of my hard earned money by any individual or entity.

I have said it before just swearing to something leaves too many loopholes open its illegal to swear to things that are not the truth but the chances of being caught were almost non existent.
Seems all sides have finally seen the same problems and fixed it in the most convenient way for them and not for the best way for their clients. Seems putting money in a Thai account is the way to go.
Well I didn't come to paradise to get marry. Defeats the purpose. Thai Elite was my choice and get vip service at the airport. No stress No mess. So this place is truly paradise for me. They will get the money out of you any way it goes. They make you pay to be married to a Thai. So just pay the money and get immigration out of your life.

I'm arriving on a visa exempt entry next week.. It will be my 4th this year but have only stayed a maximum of 10 days on those entries.
This will be a 2 week visit and I have a return ticket to Australia.. Hoping there will be no issues but I will have cash in my wallet, just in case !!
Good luck. You are playing immigration Russian Roulette. I've heard of people being refused entry after 2 Visa On Arrivals. There is a limit on how many times you can get VOA per 12 months. So you are taking a high risk this time. You must also remember that any Thai immigration officer can deny you entry regardless your documents VOA or Tourist Visa. Its up to the individual officer and you can not appeal his or her decision.

Just get a new passport. Fly to Cambodia and stay a month then apply for a Thailand visa at any travel agency. Problem solved.
It finally happened! Denied entry at BKK on METV
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

He did the right thing opting to return home because the 100 dollar bribe comes with no guarantees. The "On The Take Immigration" said he could come in the next day.. What that officer was trying to do was see if he had more funds by making him jump thru some hoops. When he said he wanted to go home he was denied for not having enough money. (Thai thinking) But with passport was all stamped up another immigration probably did the booking of the return ticket. Once that ball was rolling he was sure to be deported, although they saw he had funds for a return ticket they didn't reverse course because that would constitute 'Sia Na' Actually, to be safe, he should have had proof of moneys for the length of stay granted by the METV. 20k baht per 30 days.
But with that said, you must remember that, immigration can deny you just because they want to for no reason. It's up to the immigration officer. And yes there needs to be international exposure to this and their racist practices. The Land of Smile hasn't lived up to its billing since September 2006.
