  1. If we are talking about the Armed forces especially the Army I had to undergo a routine test every four monthsa, 10 mile run in two hours fully loaded with pack, rifle combat gear, , immediately after which carry a guy 100 metres, jump a 6 foot ditch and lastly immediately shoot at a target 100 yards away scoring 7/10 minimum, anyone under 40 had to do it including officers and senior ranks. Not do it in the time constraints again and again until you either moved or retired easy really.

  2. What amazes me is that DNA was NOT collected from the dead, photographic evidence ( pictures of the deceased )  also not apparently collected including teeth impressions, with all that the dead could have been cremated and then a jar and the necessary evidence could have been kept for years. If DNA evidence had #been collected we could see if some had been of one family )

This was disaster planning at its worst and the fact that many have stated at the time,  the families wishes are paramount if you only have a few dead yes I agree BUT with thousands it is better to reply on scientific evidence rather than the actual body , you copuld keep the whole problem in a classroom sized room and a computer.

  3. The downturn in Tourism is in part attributed to the lack of trust many foreigners feel in regarding the Thai government agencies to ensure any problems are dealt with fairly .

There have been and many are still ongoing cases in which the glaring incompetence of the investigations as gone viral around the world .

No matter how they spin it , Thailand is not as safe as they would like everyone to believe, and Thai attitudes have hardened.

There are still good holidays to be had here  at a reasonable price but the scams of dual pricing and overt foreign price is a disgrace and racist but Thailand refuses to accept that .

  4. RIP to the young girl, sad that adults were not ensuring the gun was locked up and unloaded while in the house.

No matter the outcome re police proceedings a sad tale of lack of responsibility by adults.

This is becoming another major problem here, no-one takes any notice of responsibility , hence the problems generally always some-one else's fault or an idiotic excuse for everything.

  5. Whatever the reasons the ROYAL Thai police do and often act as if the law does not apply to them from taking their children to school on a motorbike while they are not wearing helmets to shopping while on duty and double p[arking/speeding in fact everything that they happily fine most motorists for. Plus they have been known to use their authority to run clandestine activities as well as bars and even knocking houses.

So it is of no surprise that at last the locals in this country are only just realising that now the Military have made the job of a Police officer more transparent that people can really see just how bloody corrupt the Police are. Changes are due but I think not in the foreseeable future sadly
