Agree they need to be smart to deal with the ever increasing tourist needs, however as this is Thailand finding SMART people will be almost impossible and then to get the rest of the staff to comply would be nigh on impossible.
ERven TAT offices are unable to deal with foreigners properly , so no hope for the rest of the Tourism business.

If he had no money , why go, they would eventually either arrst him or find him not involved.

Of course the police have proven a plot, anything to save face, had they had an independent investigation, from the beginning this may never have occurred. But then this is Thailand and Thainess rules, no matter what .

If you did not read it, you woul;d not believe it would you. Cop ignoring a cop. It makes the Keystone cops look intelligent .

I expect the much needed reform of the Royal Thai Police will not even be considered.

Why is it relevent that the person killed was a "Migrant" worker are they less important than a Thai Worker?
Yes in Thai terms they are lower than Thais, but 15 injured, someone is not doing their job (RTP) , .....oh I am sorry that is for Thais, migrants pack them in no problem.

Communication in any form is just beyond most Thai companies, forgetting that there jobs may very well rely on customers, who the staff of most place feel are a hindrance to having a cushy job.

Good qualified sailors and even the officers could manage this, but it seems Thai sailors are NOT that good.

Just shows that no matter what the PM or the Police Chiefs say, THEW RTP have little or no care for the PUBLIC THEY SERVE. I hope the police are identified and fired for Gross Dereliction of duty. Or perhaps the driver offered a months wages to the officers, either way it is a disaster.

You know yesterday I saw at least three pigs flying, not a rare occurrence here I must say.

Spot a floating ship, judging by the accident rate and poor maintenance records to date.

Okay so now we will have everyone NOT wearing helmets, more then two/three on a motorcycle, no liceneces and no tax, goody with all the extra deaths due to the lax enforcement the only winners will be the WATS offering cut price for two
or more .

GOOD do this every day for a year, if you can .

I like the comment Police will talk to the teacher, NO, you will arrest for assault and bail let the courts decide the rights and wrongs, this time RTP show some courage. and PROTECT the PUBLIC especially a child.

make mine a steak please, no chance of that I expect, this applies to Bangkok elsewhere you pay a fine, they will be terribly disappointed with me then, I only pay fines at a Police station. doing away with the corruption, most times it is reduced or waived.

If we are talking about the Armed forces especially the Army I had to undergo a routine test every four monthsa, 10 mile run in two hours fully loaded with pack, rifle combat gear, , immediately after which carry a guy 100 metres, jump a 6 foot ditch and lastly immediately shoot at a target 100 yards away scoring 7/10 minimum, anyone under 40 had to do it including officers and senior ranks. Not do it in the time constraints again and again until you either moved or retired easy really.

What amazes me is that DNA was NOT collected from the dead, photographic evidence ( pictures of the deceased ) also not apparently collected including teeth impressions, with all that the dead could have been cremated and then a jar and the necessary evidence could have been kept for years. If DNA evidence had #been collected we could see if some had been of one family )
This was disaster planning at its worst and the fact that many have stated at the time, the families wishes are paramount if you only have a few dead yes I agree BUT with thousands it is better to reply on scientific evidence rather than the actual body , you copuld keep the whole problem in a classroom sized room and a computer.

Thainess pure and simple, following the edicts Thainess rules everyone else sucks.

The downturn in Tourism is in part attributed to the lack of trust many foreigners feel in regarding the Thai government agencies to ensure any problems are dealt with fairly .
There have been and many are still ongoing cases in which the glaring incompetence of the investigations as gone viral around the world .
No matter how they spin it , Thailand is not as safe as they would like everyone to believe, and Thai attitudes have hardened.
There are still good holidays to be had here at a reasonable price but the scams of dual pricing and overt foreign price is a disgrace and racist but Thailand refuses to accept that .

RIP to the young girl, sad that adults were not ensuring the gun was locked up and unloaded while in the house.
No matter the outcome re police proceedings a sad tale of lack of responsibility by adults.
This is becoming another major problem here, no-one takes any notice of responsibility , hence the problems generally always some-one else's fault or an idiotic excuse for everything.

Sadly none of this activity will lessen the death toll , might hurt the alcohol sales but that is all.

Whatever the reasons the ROYAL Thai police do and often act as if the law does not apply to them from taking their children to school on a motorbike while they are not wearing helmets to shopping while on duty and double p[arking/speeding in fact everything that they happily fine most motorists for. Plus they have been known to use their authority to run clandestine activities as well as bars and even knocking houses.
So it is of no surprise that at last the locals in this country are only just realising that now the Military have made the job of a Police officer more transparent that people can really see just how bloody corrupt the Police are. Changes are due but I think not in the foreseeable future sadly

You can take a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink, you can tell Thais until yuour blue in the face, but nothing absolutely nothing penetrates that agile selfish mind.
