  1. No problem to just turn around and comeback since you have a valid visa.

You can do it Poi Pet if you want to.

Thank you! Do you know about banks by the way? For example where can I open a bank account for myself w/o work permit? So far only Krungthai bank told me that they can open a joint bank account but for marriage extension bank account should be only in my name as far as i know. I found another bank on internet named as Standart Chartered Bank and they told me they can open an account only in my name. I don't know if immigration would accept this bank account or not. Is there any restriction about banks? Maybe a bank list accepted by immigration offices?

  2. It is clause 2.24 of Police Order 327/2557 basis for extension of stay.

For your wife to look at; Police Order 327/2557 Thai text

You cannot go to another immigration office unless you can show proof of address within their area of responsibility.

Thank you a lot for information. Do you know if I can leave and come back in the same day in any cambodian border? or do I have to fly out and in for get back in the same day?

  3. I'm on Multiple Non Immigrant O visa which I got from Savannakhet almost 3 months ago. Today my wife called Sri Racha Immigration Office for if I get can 2 months extension as I've read in this forum that It's possible to get 2 months extension for each entry I make. Immigration Officer told her that I can get 7 days extension only otherwise I have to leave and come back.

Now what should I do? Try another immigration office? for example Pattaya? or Is there any written rule about that I can get 2 months extension so I can show this immigration officer in Sri Racha?

If there's no other way else than leaving, can I go to Cambodian border or fly to Malaysia and come back in the same day?

After all this I want to deposit 400,000 THB to a bank in Thailand but none of the banks I visited let me open bank account. All of them says I need a work permit. Does that mean foreigners in here can't get 1 year extension based on marriage if they aren't working or what?

  4. Drinks alcohol, rarely prays and puts on hijab only on Ramadan and holidays? Sorry mate, she's not really a muslim. She's already doing everything that islam forbids but no dogs, tattoos and pork? That really makes me laugh, sorry! I don't understand why she's pushing you to convert your religion eventhough she doesn't obey her religion aswell.

I already can't understand those people who drinks alcohol and does all the things that islam says forbidden, but when it comes to pork "not halal food can't eat that".

When you are doing ablution you just need to wash your skin so tattoo is not actually forbidden as tattoo is made under the skin.

I used to be a muslim aswell until I was 13 because I was born in Turkey where %99.8 of population registered as Muslim. My mind changed since then as many things in Koran didn't really make sense for me.

  5.

The advice of going to Penang, etc., is good, but even if you get the visa, there might still be a chance of being refused entry. Hopefuly that would not happen if flying to BKK. Have you looked into continuing your treatment in Malaysia or Singapore? Continuing your treatment is obviously of highest priority.

Thailand is cheapest, Singapore and Malay is way more expensive, not only the medical fees but cost of rent, food and taxis as well. I can't walk much had an operation where both of them were removed, so I'm still in the healing process. Plus I have low energy as hell, body is depleted of testostrone which is supplemented by test injections every single day... real pain u have no idea.

So now I think the best way to do it after all your guys suggestions is to bus to Penang, get a agent to get the Visa and fly back to bkk? Anyone have a better idea than this let me know.

My flight back to BKK is Friday.

I had 379 days overstay and I was also refused for my tourist visa application in Phnom Penh (I'm turkish by the way, that was the reason why i was refused) However, I was totally desperate and ubonjoe adviced me to buy a onward flight ticket out of Thailand so I did as he said. I straight came back to Thailand and shown my onward flight ticket when officer realized that I overstayed over a year. Then they asked me few questions like why I want to go back to Thailand and why I stayed so long and I explained it as my gf was by me they believed it all and let me in.

As you are already in KL, it would be best for you to go to Penang and try for tourist visa in there also. If you can't get it then you can try to do like i've done and once you get back in Thailand you should look for get medical extensions.

  6. A printout of a confirmed flight would be accepted.

Thousands of times thank you!! I used this same flight ticket when I was in consulate but they refused me so I was afraid of getting refused at the airport aswell. After your posts I just wanted to try it and now I'm back to home in Thailand :) In airport I got in the lane and when It was my turn I just kept smiling and talked calmly. The officer was smiling aswell and when she checked out her computer and saw my overstay she just asked why I want to go to Thailand, I explained everything as how it is. Then I've shown my flight ticket out of Thailand and she talked with another officer. They asked me why overstayed and what I'm going to do in Thailand again. I told all the truth like I've done in consulate once more. They stamped my passport and asked me to read and sign this new overstay rules paper and that was all. It all took around 10-15 minutes.

I also told about the situation in Cambodia and they told me that They may have thought that Turkey is a terrorist country facepalm.gif.pagespeed.ce.EuN79TyYk_.gif

  7. How long ago was the overstay? Normally they don't turn people back for an overstay unless they have been blacklisted. If you paid it on departure from the country you would not of been blacklisted.

Just few days ago I cleaned that overstay and left Thailand. I don't have blacklist as the rules aren't in effect yet. I'm just afraid they would turn me back because of that I just left the country and trying to get back in again. My gf is also by me so I guess I should try my chance.

If you are flying in there is a better chance you will not have a problem. Havving your girl friend with you would help. Plus perhaps a ticket out to Penang would help.

Is it enough if I make flight reservation and print it out?

  9. If it gave you enough time to get married you could enter on 30 day visa exempt entry then go to Penang and get single entry non-o visa and then apply for a one year extension based upon marriage.

The Thai side for getting married does not take but a few hours. But getting your affirmation of permit to marry from the Turkish embassy in Bangkok could be the hold up dependent upon their requirements.

Turkish embassies are pretty fast with those stuff, they told me that they can prepare it in few hours. Even getting a new passport from Turkey takes around 10 days approx. But the problem is do you really think that they would let me enter on 30 day visa exempt? I got overstay stamp on my passport (379 days exactly)

  10. It is not clear from your posts whether you plan to live in Thailand after your marriage. If you do, it will probably be less complicated if you travel to Thailand first and get married there.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Sorry for not explaining that clearly, yes i want to live in Thailand after the marriage. The problem is I'm refused to get tourist visa from Phnom Penh. I was told by all the agencies that doesn't matter if I have overstay stamp on my passport or not, they just don't issue visa to turkish passports in PP anymore so I'm afraid there will show up other things in other consulates aswell. We were planning to get married already once we return back to Thailand but now it's kind of hard. I was on overstay for long time (around a year) I cleared it few days ago and came to get visa to PP but got stucked here. I contacted agencies in Penang, they told me that there's no problem like that but we just want to make sure I can finally get visa without problem

  11. Is it possible to get married in a thai embassy/consulate?

No. After getting married at whatever office Malaysian law designates for this purpose, you and your wife can go to the Thai consulate and get a Thai certificate documenting your marriage.

My gf called Chaeng Wattana and learnt that it's actually possible(as non muslims cant get married in Malaysia). So now I wonder after we'll get married, can I obtain non immigrant O visa anywhere in Malaysia? or can I straight come to Thailand and show marriage documents to get visa exemption? I couldn't get tourist visa from Phnom Penh since all the agencies told me that they don't issue tourist visa to turkish passports in there.

  12. Hello

Is it possible to get married in a thai embassy/consulate? Let's say in Malaysia. My gf says that we can get married in thai consulate in Malaysia because she's thai citizen. she shows me this text as proof but i cannot read thai yet so i wonder if there's anyone who's able to read thai and can translate this for me

    "นายทะเบียนสถานเอกอัครราชทูตหรือสถานกงสุลใหญ่ไทยสามารถจดทะเบียนสมรสตามกฎหมายไทยเฉพาะกรณีที่คู่สมรสฝ่ายใดฝ่ายหนึ่งมีสัญชาติไทยเท่านั้น"

Does this mean that we can get married in there or does that mean we can register our marriage in thailand through embassy which means we already should be married beforehand.

  13. Is there anyone/or anyone knows someone got a tourist visa in Phnom Penh after long overstay?

    My friend.

What i can suggest you is once you're in Phnom Penh, go at the Guesthouse called '11 Happy Backpackers'. They make visa service (it was something like 45$ for a 4 days waiting) and they do everything for you. I guess it's the easiest way since you won't have to go to immigration and all.

Plus it's a really cool place. 7$ per night, great ambiance, amazing food and good rooftop.

    goodluck to you

Thank you for your advice but that's actually where my problem begins. Today I went to an agency and he told me that They don't issue visa to Turkish, Chinese, Philipino and Pakistani passports.(I'm a turkish citizen and have around 380 days overstay in my passport) I was totally shocked as I have no idea what kind of problem there could be with Turkish, Chinese or Philipino passports as there are lots of people going to visit Thailand as tourist from those countries. Then I contacted to Turkish embassy in Phnom Penh and They called Thai embassy and talked about my situation and about what that agency has said. Thai embassy told them there's not such a thing but that they will consider my situation based on how long I overstayed and what are my reasons are. Then I contacted another visa agency and they also told me they can't get me tourist visa because of that I have overstay stamp in my passport.

Can you please tell me contact address of the guesthouse/agency you mentioned or can you contact them and ask if they can obtain visa for a turkish citizen who has overstay stamp on his passport?

You where tottaly shocked and have no idea what problem there could be with Turkish people. And you have more than a years overstay. And you are from Turkey.

So what If i'm from Turkey? Does that make me a criminal? Last year I got my tourist visa from PP easily without any problem. Now I can't get the visa and the problem isn't overstay stamp in my passport as there are dozens of other foreigners getting visa after overstaying years long. The problem is that Ambassador in Cambodia has changed and this new one now decided to not give visa to Turkish, Chinese, Philipino and Pakistani people. My punishment was that 20,000 THB and as they didn't blacklist me, they should have given this tourist visa. In the same situation an American with more overstay than me can get this visa easily by using an agency. That's what I don't understand.

  15. See my post in the 'Overstayers do they have to stay now' topic.

The ban for overstays is not in effect yet. I called Thai immigration and was told it will be in effect by September, so you need to leave by the end of August at the very very latest to get an overstay sorted out.

The clue you should have all had? There is no DATE on the notice that Immigration put up. There is always a date when a policy has been made official. The policy is going into effect, but it has not been approved yet. What you are seeing on the Immigration website is a warning, and the same acknowledgement notice you are now being asked to sign when you enter the kingdom.

Honestly, 15 years in Thailand and I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the same gossipmongers on Thai Visa are still holding their gossipfests with no corroberative evidence as to what they're talking about, and not one person with the gumption to call Immigration to find out (and no, your Thai wife calling, who probably doesn't understand Immigration policy doesn't count).

This is interesting and I hope this is true for my sake and others in the same position as me. I had my Thai wife call them yesterday and by the way she is by no means stupid as she has nearly finished her masters in Law. They told her it was in effect from yesterday. I would really like to know exactly what the situation is before I condemn myself to a year ban. I will have her call them again and see what they say.

My gf called DMK immigration office at the beginning of July and they told her that these new rules will be in effect after 2 months, which is September. I left from Thailand by using DMK airport yesterday and They didn't blacklist me.

  16. I was on overstay around 1 year and I left from Thailand today via DMK. From Chachoengsao to DMK there wasn't checkpoints at all on the way. I was really thinking that I will face with a bad situation, angry officers talking bad to me but It wasn't like that at all. Instead of that, they all were smiling and asking me some questions about why overstayed and about my gf (who was waiting right out of the immigration office)

I went to the officer for show my passport and he took me to their office, another officers made paperworks and in the end I paid 22,000 THB (20,000 for overstay and 2,000 for not reporting myself to immigration office, I had several tourist visas) It all took around 20 minutes. If this new rules are really in effect right now I was too lucky it seems. Hope I would be too lucky like this again few days later when I will go back to Thailand with tourist visa.
