You need an import license issued by the Ministry of Finance.
No duties, but many hoops to jump through.
What about bringing it out of Thailand?

@johnnynmonic Many major carriers never stopped service to and from BKK: Qatar, KLM, Lufthansa, EVA to name a few. Check FlightRadar24's airport specific arrival and departure info for BKK for confirmation.
Oh I know. But I was looking to fly out of Phuket.

Anyone reckon that other international airlines will have their schedules forced to roll back to August as well? Can't have the farang owned companies gaining even more of an edge over THAI airways. I really hope that's not the case. Was hoping to fly in mid-July.

So much for the anonymity that bitcoin adherents tout. ????
Bitcoin is anything but anonymous. It's a public ledger.

This can be done with Coinbase. Withdrawals to accounts, cards and Paypal all available.
Depending on when he bought in 2017, he'd probably lose money on it selling now.

Bitkub might work for you if you're not American.
If that won't work, perhaps Binance (need to use debit or credit card to buy).
Last choice would be localbitcoins.com. You can buy direct via bank transfer from other people in Thailand. I say it's the last choice, because the premium is quite high.- 1

Headline says July 15th, but video says June 15th for domestic terminal, and international terminal opening remains to be announced.

What a ridiculous over-generalization. As you yourself have stated in the past each office does things its own way. What is better- to trickle through a quiet drive-thru as one has business in town or all flock there at the same time when an amnesty is lifted, wiping out social distancing?
Overreact much? Phuketimmigration.go.th specifically says not to submit 90 day extensions. Yet officers in Phuket are telling people to submit them.

One comes to expect this kind of absurdity.
They'll flip back in a day or two, I expect. TIT -

If the rational is to stop people gathering in large groups...
The rationale is not to stop them from drinking in groups. It's rather they fear that after a few drinks, people more likely to gather outside the governor's mansion with pitchforks.

Got my $2,400.00 deposit yesterday into my credit union account.
Did you file your taxes with a Thai address, or the U.S. address associated with you credit union?

Still nothing in my account. But glad to know that living abroad doesn't disqualify. IRS website says "status unavailable."

So now with the lockdown, how will I get to the Airport, assuming this flight isn't canceled. Will I need to get ahold of the American Embassy???
Lockdown doesn't mean absolute shut-in. If you must go out, you'll manage. Eg. grocery buying, banking, and the like.
You can get a letter to request extension from most embassies. The U.S. consulate emails them out same-day upon request. I assume most others are doing something similar.- 1

5. We offer a very poor exchange rate (that is how we make up for the fees that would otherwise be charged).
Rates were competitive. I have only used from cypto to THB, so can't speak to the bank transfer aspect of it.

Yeah, he was probably making a killing. I assume he’s been doing this for some time already, either his luck finally ran out, or the local drug dealers needed to stamp out the competition.

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't yet gone down the rabbit hole of cryptos, but it makes sense there'd be some combination that could get me there. The fees, fluctuations, and unsure tax consequences kind of scare me. That's why I liked this solution in that it simplifies the process. I thought I might even dabble a bit, once comfortable.
Coinbase has a dollar pegged stable coin (USDC) that they don't charge fees for conversion to USD. Everex accepts deposits of USDC. Otherwise you're quite correct, the fees alone in crypto add up quickly, nevermind the volatility in prices.

Rate at everex and transferwise and evx price was on 27th of september at 4pm
I don't see much point in holding the EVX token other than speculating. But it works well enough for cashing out USDC or DAI. Of course it's better to keep those in a wallet you have the keys to. I'm glad to have an easy option to go from crypto to THB, though it seems that their main focus is bank to bank.

Buy Bitcoin in your home currency. Then trade Bitcoin into Thai Baht and withdraw into your Thai bank account with no fees at all. Much more better than using a Bank or middle man to ACT Debit or Wire into a Thai bank with tons of fees and bad exchange rate.
Everex doesn't accept BTC deposits. Only DAI and USDC.

Hi, can anyone tell me if this service works in the opposite direction, to get funds out from here? I am a customer of Transferwise, and they don't. I have recently tried DeeMoney with convoluted and mixed results. There doesn't seem to be a convenient, reliable, and quick service outside of bank wires to send to a western bank from here.
I haven't tried it, but in my account dashboard I see the option to add money from my Thai bank account. I'm curious how that might work.

Thanks. I have a few of those Thai gold bars (thong theang), certainly less than 20k USD in value.
