Thank you both.  That's exactly what I will do ...

Jomtien Immigration office will accept the application for the 30 days extension during the last 7 days of your current STAMPED ending date.

Be sure to have a TM30 address registration on file with Thai Immigration.

These are the common found requirements for the 30 days extension of stay at Thai immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.

I did a bit of clicking around as well, and discovered that while a German passport holder can't apply for an e-visa in places like Cambodia or Malaysia (presumably like Australia not on the e-visa net yet) you can from South Korea and China, as well as other European countries and the US. So maybe that might become easier as more local embassies are included in the system.

I don't know if you can lie about being in your home country when you're in somewhere like Cambodia. Should be theoretically possible with a VPN though if you've got the paperwork with you.

In fact come to think of it it should be possible from Thailand with a VPN.

    Anyone ever tried?

Your proof of your flight to Thailand MUST be from your home country not Cambodia ETC. Trying to get it via Evisa online application system will result in being DENIED.

You cannot elect to apply for extension anywhere .

If he stays in hotel in Jomtien district and they provide TM30 then that would be a possibility

And Jomtien Immigration ONLY will accept application for the 30 days extension of stay during the 7 days prior to your current ending date of your stay. A TM 30 is REQUIRED

  4. It's a common found practice for both Delta Airlines and Korean Airlines to Ask for proof of your flight departing Thailand within the first 59 days of your arrival into Thailand. I fly Delta Airlines and Korean Airlines to Thailand OFTEN.

Other airlines are asking for the same proof.

IF you are in the Delta SkyMiles program, just use 22,500 miles and book a One Way ticket to SGN Saigon..Ho Chi Minh City. Book it and then cancel the booking online. No $$$ paid ticket needed.

I don't think you can actually say that - there is no 'situation normal'. The situation with denials comes and goes. Some seem to be able to do as many entries as they want, often back to back - then reports start coming in from people being denied.  Its been that way as long as I can remember.

People often post that they've been coming in for years on 30 day exempts with no problems - well good for them but such statements are not a lot of good to the guy stood at the booth being denied.

Given the amount of entries per day, admittedly denials seem rare but then again, quite a lot of people I've spoken to have never heard of ThaiVisa or AseanNow so they won't be reporting here.

An average of 80 persons each day at BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang airport are DENIED entry into Thailand.

Websites are known to be out of date.

The one year multiple entry Non O Visa as Married to Thai NEVER was on the website... All you needed to do was write 5000 Thai baht One year Non O...on the top of the application and they issued it. Otherwise they would issue only a 90 day Non O Visa as Married to Thai.

Am I able to do a 60 day extension making it 14 months?

YES you can get a 60 Day family visit extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht. Ask your local Thai Immigration office for their list of requirements.

Been on extentions to retirement visa for 7 years.  Covid apart have travelled abroad multiple times every year and have never filed a new TM30.  Renewal no problem, doing it myself (so no agent "help" to bypass anything)  at Jomtien.

Suggest you ask Jomtien Immigration again as there's different reports regarding the need for filing a TM30 on returning to Thailand. Best to be safe and file. Use the online filing app to do so.

Re Entry Permits Conditions on: Education Visa and Chiang Mai University Visa?

Ok so I am looking to get a Chiang Mai University Visa for 15 months for 65,000.

During the 15 months I want to go on holiday maybe two or three times for maybe One week at a time.

Has anyone done this with these types of Visa. I know I need a re entry permit.......But do i need to pay a bribe to Immigration when I come back into Phuket Airpot?
Or Do I pay for fast track and if so how do I that?

Don't do it ...you will surely be DENIED entry into Thailand upon arrival... even with a re-entry permit and the Ed Visa. You will be on Thai Immigration radar with that fraudulently acquired Ed Visa.

I'm just finishing up a work visa on a contract. I need to get a new visa next month to stay here in Thailand. I wanted to get the Single Entry Tourist Visa and then extend it for 30 days later.

I would just like to get some others opinions as to what city has the better embassy, Phnom Penh (PP) or Ho Chi Minh (HCM)?

I do plan to make a trip out of it as I understand the process takes about 3 business days and I need a holiday anyway.

Both destinations are pretty comparable on price but I think HCM has some better accomodation and transport options.

I am also aware that I will need to apply for a visa on arrival in both countries (as an Australian I understand some USD will be exchanged)

I've heard that PP is quite strict and I am concerned about my history of visa before 2019. I have been on a work visa ever since.
I just wonder if HCM has a more friendly experience for getting a SETV.

However the proof of onward journey I do not understand too well. If I plan to pay 1900 THB for the 30 day extension - does that mean I need to book an open flexible ticket out of thailand (that can be changed once i get extension)?

I plan to fly over for a week at whatever destination. Have to do it next month.

A fella with a similar situation as yours had asked on Thai Visa Advice yesterday and was provided helpful advice.

    We wish you success.

Medical extensions of up to 90 days are possible under para 2.25 of Immigration Bureau Orders 327/2557 and 138/2557, English translations of which can be downloaded by clicking on the relevant links at 12 and 16 (not the Siam Translation ones, though!) of the "Laws, regulations, Police Orders, etc" pinned thread (linked below for ease of reference):-

    https://aseannow.com/topic/981135-laws-regulations-police-orders-etc

Your friends will therefore need to establish, as a matter of extreme urgency, with their Thai hospital whether a stay of more than 15 days will be needed in their case; and, if so, what assistance the hospital can provide in obtaining the necessary medical extensions from the local immigration office on their behalf.

AND while you are correct , the medical tourist visa MUST be obtained from your home country Thai Embassy or Consulate.

Entering via most land crossings should be fine (but avoid Poipet/Aranyaprathet).

At airports, entering with a visa should not be a problem. However, there have been rare cases of denied entry for those with tourist visas at some airports. Some officials hate long stay tourists, and may look for opportunities to give them problems. Both Bangkok airports and Krabi are to be avoided if you want to be completely safe. Chiang Mai has historically never been reported to improperly deny entry to those with visas.

Add Phuket airport to your list to a AVOID Flying into...

Hi all, I have an appointment at Vientiane tomorrow and want to know if a 3-day hotel booking in Thailand and proof of a flight out within 60 days will suffice to meet the itinerary requirements, or do they want to see hotel bookings for the entire stay?

The Thai Consulate in Vientiane are strict now and you need to submit the requirements for the tourist visa as stated on their website.

However as your recent history of staying in Thailand long time... and the fact that you have already used your 2 land border entries into Thailand this calendar year, you need to prepare for your application for the tourist visa be DENIED  .. and IF that happens what NEXT?

You stated in a recent reply...

"Hmmm, my history has been back-to-back since 7 December 2022. Already done 2 land-border crossings as well. This is my first application for a 60-day visa though, the rest were fly-ins/exempt. I also just noticed that they have changed the processing times to 3 days. I remember it always being a 2-day affair. "

There have been reports of those who seek the Thai tourist visa be denied for already having been in Thailand with various visas and extensions, including COVID extensions.

    Good Luck ????

I am absolutely confused to the high hells on what to do here.

So we are in Thailand. We arrived on visa exemption. Our child enrolled into a senior school here, she's 13. The school has said her getting an education visa is not an issue. They have said it may well be tricky for me or my partner.

We do not have bank accounts here in Thailand.

During covid, my partner was granted an O visa, and my daughter an Education visa. But we did that whilst in the UK, anticipating joining the school in Thailand. In the end because of covid we didn't even travel !

So will my child be easily granted an education visa? Furthermore, is it for single entry ?! Or is he allowed to leave the country and then return ? I ask, because we have a wedding back in the UK and plan to return back for Christmas to be with family.

So what do me and my partner do? None of us have issues with taking the odd flight out of the country (eg Singapore, Malaysia) every month (infact we would love to!). Can we keep doing this indefinately or will we eventually be stopped ?

Furthermore i was thinking should i just apply to the UK high commission like we did before to an education visa and O visa? Or would that mean that we would need to travel from the UK for it to be valid, eg do they ask to see tickets as part of the application?!

What other options are open to me? We are not over 50, and we have no bank account in Thailand !

I am utterly lost as you may well gather by ramblings ! Any help would be welcome.

For what purpose before did your PARTNER get the Non O Visa?

You say PARTNER...are Man and Lady?

What passport nation is your PARTNER?

The child can get the Ed Visa...as before.

BUT ONLY ONE GUARDIAN VISA id ls available per child.

To go get the ONE GUARDIAN VISA, a deposit of 500,000 Thai baht no needs to be made in a Thai bank in the name of the one parent obtaining the Guardian Visa.

As for the second parent... that's going to be a challenge. Possibly consider getting a job teaching in Thailand... which will get you One Non B Visa for the teacher and POSSIBLY a Non O Visa for the other spouse if the school employer agrees.

Or enroll in a legitimate school for the Ed Visa for One year. With possibility of two years. Chiang Mai University School of Thai language is an excellent option.

DO NOT ???? pay under the table for an illegally obtained Ed Visa or Volunteer Visa  . They are the scourge of all who have them with ongoing crackdown underway by Thai Immigration Officers
